Uroxatral headache

Common Questions and Answers about Uroxatral headache

uroxatral

Avatar m tn I have had an ultrasound of the prostate which checked out fine and have been tested for chlamydia and gonorhea, which both came back negative. I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?
Avatar f tn There is another class of medications, such as Uroxatral, which can help shrink your prostate and improve your symptoms. the results of this class of medications, however, often take many weeks before they make a major differences. Ultimately, flomax and drugs like uroxatral can be combined to give maximal medical therapy for BPH. Sometimes men continue to have problems and may be candidates for surgical intervention to improve symptoms.
Avatar m tn I’ve been on Ciprofloxacin (antibiotic), followed by Sulfamethoxyzole (antibiotic) plus Naproxen (anti-inflammatory). Currently I’m on Uroxatral, to help relax my bladder muscles to ease emptying, and further aid my prostate healing. These medications may be helping, but to be thorough I also had ultrasounds of my bladder and testes and doppler (vascular study) of my penis.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?

Avatar n tn Now that your bladder has recompensated, you might actually be able to empty using an alpha blocker such as Uroxatral or Flomax, but I would not recommend doing that in the long term as you are skating on the edge of decompensating again. I would recommend that you have a prostatectomy and then be followed for adequacy of emptying and urinary tract infections.
Avatar m tn He put me on Cipro 500mg 2x day for 4 weeks and uroxatral 10mg 1xday. This regimen did not help so I then went on septra DS for only 9 days (3 week prescription) because I didn't notice an improvement (hindsight probably stopped this one too early). He then put me on 10 weeks at 100mg 2x day.
Avatar n tn I am still seeing a doc and will keep you up to date.
Avatar m tn s office that turned up no answers. I was given Uroxatral to try but have seen no difference in almost three weeks. I've also started to take saw palmetto about two weeks ago but still nothing. I just can't feel relieved after I go to the bathroom. I always feel like I have to urinate. My bladder empties fine, according to uroflow tests but my stream is that of a man in his 80's not a man like me who will be 25 in December.
Avatar n tn I just had the urodynamic test. The urologist who performed the test said I have low flow at high bladder pressure, which would indicate an obstruction. My normal uro, the one who performed the cystoscopy, did not find an obstruction (but I don't think he was looking for one, and he seems to be ignoring the redness he saw on my bladder neck...). Anyway, doc gave me a 30 day sample of uroxatral.. if that doesn't work, he'll mix it up with some other medications.
Avatar n tn t use Flomax or other alpha blockers due to side effects -- disturbed sleep. Uroxatral even caused me to sleepwalk 15 feet from a nap on the sofa one evening, waking when I fell flat on my face in the next room! Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH.
Avatar n tn ve also been to a urologist who thought my problem might potentially be prostatitus or prostadynia, or possibly interstitial cystitis for which he prescribed a regimen of Prosed DS and Uroxatral. All treatments have failed to provide any significant relief. As a last ditch effort today he prescribed acyclovir as a clinical trial, being that we've tried everything else and I've not had any relief. If this doesn't work he's going to send me to an infections disease specialist.
Avatar m tn My urologist put me on Uroxatral for the time being; it has certainly helped with the pain in the prostate region and has helped with flow also. I'm still getting the on and off discomfort in my penis, but like I said...hoping something is found when I have the procedure.
Avatar n tn ultasound done, no official report bur dr looked at and said everything looked ok. next step, catheter for a week and uroxatral, to give bladder a break and shrink. He did not give any more antibiotics. We are going back in 4 days to see if catheter worked if not camera next. Whats going on???? are these rare epi cells cancer indicators???? would a mass or cancer show up non an ultrasound? Thank you for talking to me.
Avatar m tn I explained that the pain was still present and I was experiencing coldness in the tip of my penis. He prescribed Bactrim and Uroxatral. This helped, but faded like the previous attempts. Over the course of the past two years I have been pumped full of antibiotics. The last one was 750 mg of Levaquin. This is some serious stuff. I thought I was going to die at one point. This took care of the pain and I have regained normal urinary function.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 18 years old and for the past week I have been having the same headache on one spot. Is around my left eye and everytime I look to the left my eye hurts and around that area. When I was 13 I had a MRI done I had a tumor but it wasn't malingnant I was supoose to go to the doctor as I got older to get it checked but never did. Could this be just a migrane? Or maybe that I need glasses?
Avatar f tn Hello, If the CT Scan has come out normal, then it can be due to primary headache like tension headache or migraine. Try OTC medicines like aspirin or acetaminophen. For headache pain that cannot be controlled with pain relievers, antidepressants, beta-blockers, or anticonvulsants may be prescribed. Use a cold compress to the area of pain, rest in a room with little or no sensory stimulation (light, sound, and odors) and withdraw from stressful surroundings.
