Avatar m tn i have a protein level of 300 in my urine should i be worried and what should i do if this is bad? Plus what is a normal protein level in urine?
Avatar f tn Have you has a 24 hour urine test done? This really measures the level of protein in your urine and would really help the doctor to determine if you need to follow up in any way. If your protein is high you may want to see a specialist. Your doctor would be able to determine if it is a problem. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn Today my son went for his physical and once again the protein level is 2000. Our family doctor wants to run a bunch of test again. I don't know what to do. We have already taken my son to a specialist. Can you advised me what to do. My mind is running crazy wondering if he has some kind of kidney issue. Thank you A concerned mother.
336365 tn?1213319598 The spinal was cancelled for unrelated reasons. My 24 hour urine test came back with high protein and blood in the urine (this has been on-going for years). My neurologist had a fit and ordered this test. See results above. I was diagnosed with White Matter Disease after two years of MRI results. The Spinal was because of suspicion of Multiple Sclerosis. I did have the Lumbar Puncture this past Tuesday and no results yet.
Avatar f tn I would suggest that you get a serum creatinine level and a check of 24 hour urine protein level to determine the exact level of protein and there by the level of damage to the kidney due to recurrent infections. Tumors in the urinary tract usually present with a painless bleeding in the tract. Consult a urologist for further assistance. Best.

Avatar f tn My protein level was at an 827. Just left the hospital from over night. My BP and baby is fine which is why they felt comfortable enough to let me leave. I have an appointment with my Dr on Monday to see what needs to be done next. I'm only 32 weeks so we're hoping to keep baby in as long as possible. C Section will not be discussed unless we feel like baby girl is in danger. They have been giving me the steroid shots to help her lungs develope just in case she does need to be taken out.

Avatar n tn if protein is not found in urine, will urine antibody test for any disease show no results? Or is it possible that there is antibody in urine but urine routine will show no protein present ?
4503521 tn?1400858886 Having small amounts of protein in your urine is common in pregnancy. It can happen for a number of reasons. It probably just means that your kidneys are working harder now that you're pregnant. It could also mean that your body is fighting a minor infection. Your midwife may send a sample of your urine to the hospital to check if you have a urinary tract infection (UTI). If you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that is safe to take in pregnancy.

178698 tn?1228774338 I have had protein in my urine since I was in my early 20s. It's never been at a high enough level for the MDs to get overly concerned. I've had testing on my kidneys and everything, and they can't find anything wrong. As far as pregnancy goes, I've also had it in my urine during this pregnancy, but not at a high level. I have had to do 24-hour urine collections a couple of times so he could check kidney function but, other than that, no big deal.
Avatar n tn High blood pressure, high volumn of protein in urine....and I guess your friend's protein level in his blood is lower than normal now. I'm afraid your friend has got the nephrotic syndrome. Back to 2005, his protein level of 1G/24hr was already too high. He needs to see a nephrologist immediately and start treatment straight away. A kidney biopsy could be considered.
Avatar f tn Hi all Kidney function test and urine test both normal. So, my fatigue may be due to dehydration (temperature and humidity are high here currently). Also I think my high level of anxiety playing role. Need to calm down. It also could be side effect of entecavir. Hope my body adjusts to it fast.
Avatar n tn Since my doctor has not been following my diabetes, today I used a Health Screening site to check my A1C and paid for it out of my own pocket instead of using my insurance. It's been almost a year since the doctor felt it necessary to check it. It is 8.0. The only diabetes related problem I'm aware of having is a fairly high amount of protein lost in the urine.
Avatar m tn Docors ususally test for this by measuring microalbumin (which is a protein) in the urine. If this lab value becomes elevated, your doctor will typically start you on an ACE inhibitor, which will help slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy, along with good control of blood sugars. If you are having trouble maintaining good blood sugar levels, I suggest you go to your doctor and rework your medication and diabetes control plan. Keeping your sugars under control is crucial.
Avatar f tn I hope your dipsticks are showing negative protein now. What was the protein level anyway?
