my doctor reported a urine protein level on my urine test as >1200. What does this mean?

i have a protein level of 300 in my urine should i be worried and what should i do if this is bad? Plus what is a normal protein level in urine?

Have you has a 24 hour urine test done? This really measures the level of protein in your urine and would really help the doctor to determine if you need to follow up in any way. If your protein is high you may want to see a specialist. Your doctor would be able to determine if it is a problem. Best of luck!

Today my son went for his physical and once again the protein level is 2000. Our family doctor wants to run a bunch of test again. I don't know what to do. The spinal was cancelled for unrelated reasons. My 24 hour urine test came back with high protein and blood in the urine (this has been on-going for years). Lol I was like Okay then when my doc tols me I had to do a test she said if there is protein. In my urine they will have top put me on bed rest and Watch baby closely. But my doc doesn't think I have it. Is just everyone had to get the test done.

I've done more urine tests, and also test my own urine it's always between +1 and +4. My GP is going to refer me now. You should go back to your GP. Have no other symptoms but my GP is saying its not normal.
