ultram er pain medication

The problem I have is that before when I was taking 100 mg Ultram ER twice a day with the methadone as listed above my pain was controled, but since I have tried going down on it I have pain all the time again. I was wondering if there was any other long acting medication out there that works simular to the Ultram ER?

my doctor just gave me a prescription for ultram er 200mg and i have cirossis is this ok to take for short period of time about 1 or 2 months please answer was on lortab prior

So I went in for my appointment today and it felt really good to have all my questions and concerns written down so I didn't forget any of my questions. He ended up prescribing me zanaflex for my muscle pain (was on robaxin, but it didn't work well) and Ultram ER for daily pain. I know a lot of other people on here take Ultram, but I have never taken it, so it should be interesting to see if it helps me.

But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.

My physician prescribed these for me because I have a bad knee issue. I avoided heavy narcotic pain meds (taking hydro instead of percs for 6 weeks) and didn't want to take ultram either after reading the stories here but I have to travel for work. I'm stopping the hydro but wanted to give me knee a couple of more weeks to adjust...the meds mask the pain so I can move and interact with my clients physically, i.e. walking, communicating, lunches & dinners, etc.

Let me explain better.....he was weening me off of Ultram and I was doing really, really well but my insurance would not pay for as many Ultram as I needed. So, He didn't want me going c/t so he wanted to give me something that was like Ultram to replace it. He told me that the MS ER was the same "kind" of med as Ultram. He said that it is the "sister" to Ultram. Right now I'm on the next to LOWEST dose there is so it is a very, very low dose.

Please be careful with ultram - I have been on it for back pain for 2 years now. My doc is anything opiate based , so was given this as a non addictive alternative. Well it gets rid of my back pain - but for me it is addictive. While it doesn't give me the high, or rush I get from oxy, it does give me a nice warm feeling of well being. If I am not in a lot of pain - the feeling is a bit more intense.

I HAVE READ THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HERE ARE CUTTING DOWN OR TRYING TO GET OFF THE PAIN MEDICATION........ WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR ALL THE PAIN THAT YOU WERE IN? My dr. just gave me a sample of Ultram ER, 200 mg. I took one 2 hours ago, and STILL feel nausaus, dizzy, creepy...and still in pain. I'll take the back pain any day of the week than to ever feel like this again. What a horrible, nasty drug. He wanted to give me the vicodin again, and I said no thanks...tapered off of that twice and never want to go thru that again either. I'll stick to the tylenol, ice, and that's it.

My question is, I wanted to know how much ultram of the 100mg er I would need to take to keep up with the norco I was taking. Or if it even is comparible to the norco......

Using a Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr for a year or so.......My back is giving me problems and I am wondering about a script my doc gave me for Ultram ER....He says this is not an opiate but I have read a lot about Ultram on here....not seen that much about the "extended release." Any info would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go down that road if it will lead to disaster (again).

Anyone taken Opana ER? My doctor wants to switch me from Oxy to Opana ER and I am very nervous about it. Any advice is helpful.

Been on Vicodin( for the daily severe pain) but now they want to put me on Ultram because Vicoding is a narcotic-addicting. Isnt Ultram/Tramadol addicting also?? I read the side effects and they scare me. Can anyone tell me if they have used Ultram and what was the outcome?

What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.

Hi!! If you are having migraines (aside from the chiari headaches) you might try the 'seizure' medication. I take a daily medication (Keppra - 750mg) once a day (at night) to prevent my migraines. And I have to be honest, since I started taking it - my migraines went from 5 - 6 a month to maybe 1 or 2!!! When I DO get them, I take treximet (very expensive - but amazing) - and it usually knocks out a migraine within about 30 minutes!!

I have tried Tramadol/ ultram and it did nothing for pain. It just made me feel weird not high feeling weird just yucky. Then after finding out the withdrawals people had from it and the seizures i stopped taking it really fast. I didn't taper because I hadn't taken very much of it but usually a taper is the way to go. Please try and find something else for pain.

You don't know how lucky you are your doctor took you off of methadone it's a terrible drug, I'm with Pauly611, I didn't know about the nazi thing but that makes me hate the methadone even more...I also know several people that have died taking methadone. The opana er is a great pain medication. It's very smooth and it won't make you feel like a zombie, that's what it made me feel like.

I ended up going to the ER and they put a weird almost pill looking thing in my ear, to open it up cuz it was pretty much all the way closed. I let them know I was pregnant and they have me prescribed ear drops and ultram which is a pain reliever for extreme pain. The thing is though I just looked it up and it says that ultram is a class c drug. Which I don't.feel comfortable taking while pregnant. But I am in extreme pain!

I did get a script once for Ultracet but it was not as good for my pain. Do you feel that Ultram is helpful with this condition and also, is it a bad thing that I am not on any other kind of drug such as Neurontin or Lyrica for this condition. Thanks.

I have been taking 200 mg of Ultram for 6 months for herniated discs and leg pain. I was under the impression that they were a non-narcotic pain reliever and weren't addictive. However, I found out I'm pregnant last week so I discontinued the medication. This caused me to experience severe withdrawal symptoms along with the back pain. I was concerned the withdrawal would cause a miscarriage so I continued to take them at half the usual dose.
