Avatar m tn I do not need to get a buzz from the meds. So I have these Ultram ER - extended release @ 100 mg; one pill per day. Has anyone used these before and what about them? BTW - I have cut down on travel considerably but this has been going on and off since April and surgery in June...I have to work.
Avatar f tn Let me explain better.....he was weening me off of Ultram and I was doing really, really well but my insurance would not pay for as many Ultram as I needed. So, He didn't want me going c/t so he wanted to give me something that was like Ultram to replace it. He told me that the MS ER was the same "kind" of med as Ultram. He said that it is the "sister" to Ultram. Right now I'm on the next to LOWEST dose there is so it is a very, very low dose.
Avatar f tn my doctor just gave me a prescription for ultram er 200mg and i have cirossis is this ok to take for short period of time about 1 or 2 months please answer was on lortab prior
Avatar m tn What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.
176495 tn?1301280412 Great job on not getting opiates...Yet ultram is a very addicting drug...I have taken it several times in the past and it never did anything , not even for the pain...But after reading horror stories from getting off it , i am so glad now...If u take as persribed, u should be ok...just be carefull.. I have found through taking many different meds for my back that zanaflex worked really well...I have used skelaxin but never helped...BUT everyone is different....
Avatar m tn But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.
Avatar m tn was doing some reading and it seems the dol hcl is like the hydrocodone and the regular dol is like ultram--- however the ultram er is totally different than the regular ultram??? anyone know the diff on these nightmares??
Avatar f tn My dr. just gave me a sample of Ultram ER, 200 mg. I took one 2 hours ago, and STILL feel nausaus, dizzy, creepy...and still in pain. I'll take the back pain any day of the week than to ever feel like this again. What a horrible, nasty drug. He wanted to give me the vicodin again, and I said no thanks...tapered off of that twice and never want to go thru that again either. I'll stick to the tylenol, ice, and that's it.
Avatar f tn He was horrified had mo clue this drug was so toxic On a small taper w Xanax to keep bp down I know one drug for another but it just makes me sleepy not speedy like ultram with the er dr and my pcp I was getting the best of both worlds pain control from herniated disks and happiness that the ultram gives u I was at a point that 30 a day was making me lethargic and wasn't doing whatbit used to I have had a history of depression some shrinks said bipolar I was self medicating with this crap in
5684059 tn?1374435322 I posted earlier about a very bad ear infection. I ended up going to the ER and they put a weird almost pill looking thing in my ear, to open it up cuz it was pretty much all the way closed. I let them know I was pregnant and they have me prescribed ear drops and ultram which is a pain reliever for extreme pain. The thing is though I just looked it up and it says that ultram is a class c drug. Which I don't.feel comfortable taking while pregnant. But I am in extreme pain!
Avatar m tn i,ve taken every opiate going and i clocked up more hospital admissions from tram than any other drug.....read my journal piece that i posted within the hour.....trams are a no go....
449842 tn?1214362266 I have been abusing vicodin for a year now, my worst point I was taking 25 10/1000 mg daily, my lowest point is now, taking 5-6 10/1000 mg daily. I do feel withdrawal syptoms, which for me makes it the hardest to stop my use of Vicodin... The WORST withdrawal symptom is the ICHY-SCRATCHY bone chilling constant feeling, I can't stay still, it is HORRIBLE. I can handle the fatigue, the chills and sweats, but the crawling out of skin feeling is TORCHURE.
Avatar f tn Hi i am takine amtriptyline .10 for pain from fibro/ lupus. doctor told me to add ultram .50 for breakthrough pain. I heard there was a risk of seizures but the doctor said it was ok. I also take toprol and synthroid. Any thought on taking these together? Thanks for any imput.
783281 tn?1259691431 Using a Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr for a year or so.......My back is giving me problems and I am wondering about a script my doc gave me for Ultram ER....He says this is not an opiate but I have read a lot about Ultram on here....not seen that much about the "extended release." Any info would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go down that road if it will lead to disaster (again).
Avatar f tn My question is, I wanted to know how much ultram of the 100mg er I would need to take to keep up with the norco I was taking. Or if it even is comparible to the norco......
Avatar m tn I forgot to mention that I also stop cold turkey the Vicodin and the Ultram I have been using once a day(Vicodin) and daily(2) Ultram. I used them for less than a year, 8 or 9 months if I recall correct.
Avatar n tn s in Ultram, Ultracet, or Ultram ER, is a nasty drug to detox from. It has properties that make it almost like a benzo and an opiate combined into one little nasty pill. There's things to take that are not addictive that can help with withdrawal symptoms such as clonidine (Catapres) and hydroxyzine (Vistaril, Atarax). Please, steer clear of the Ultram.
176495 tn?1301280412 So, I went to the doctor yesterday due to my recurrent back pain (which got me on vicodin to begin with you may or may not recall)..I'd gone to the ER 2 weeks ago and they gave me ultram and skelaksan (sp?)..which helped some, but yesterday turned out to be a particularly painful day to where I was feeling pain down my right leg and across my lower back..
Avatar f tn ve GOT to have something for pain! My doc prescribed Ultram ER for me. I know what to expect from the vicodin withdrawals but I have no idea what to expect from ultram. Im not sure that I even want to try it (depending on the responses that I get here). I don't want to put myself through anything worse than the vicodin withdrawals but as I said, Ive got to have a pain med... Im also currently on Lyrica (about 3 weeks now) and so far, its done NOTHING for my pain. What should I do???
Avatar f tn Then when I ran out over Easter week my Dr refused to refill my prescription. After no meds and no sleep for 3 days the withdrawls were terrible, I ended up in the ER. The ER Dr said yes it is an addictive drug and they were getting ready to change the info on this drug. In the meantime he gave me Ambien to get some sleep and I could not take it either. Needless to say be careful with Tramadol it has a nasty withdrawl effect.
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
175688 tn?1297556647 Hey all. I am currently on day 4 of severe Vicodin and Ultram addiction. I was taking up to 100+mg's of vicodin a day and up to 400mg of Ultram at one point. It was nothing for me to pop 10-15 10/325 vicodin or 6-10 50mg ultram at one time. I finally decided to stop this all. I went to the ER this past Saturday night and told them that I had a problem. I was put on Clondine to help with the wd symptoms. It has helped tremendously.
Avatar n tn There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. ULTRAM ER should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Neonatal seizures, neonatal withdrawal syndrome, fetal death and still birth have been reported during post-marketing reports with tramadol HCl immediate-release products. Labor and Delivery ULTRAM ER should not be used in pregnant women prior to or during labor unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Avatar f tn I have a unique story to tell how I got into my current job or what drove me while being a bio and science major. My father got cancer when I was 4 years old from -- osteosarcoma. I watched him stay in bed when I was a little girl. He layed in bed for 1 ½ year after got his leg amputated. He was in a bad pain. Pain meds were not as advanced back in the late 70’s as they are today. I remember my mother counting the hours to give him his next dose.
