I then went to my family doctor and she was going to prescribe truvada plus tiviacy but she changed her mind and said the tiviacy is too toxic.
So she put my on truvada alone will this even reduce my risk?

For PEP to be effective, it has to be started very early after the exposure. We are talking hours not days. In animal models of infection, effectiveness of PEP really suffers as the delay in initiation increases. Most experts feel that after 3 days there is no use to starting PEP. Additionally, many also now accept that Truvada alone may not be sufficient for PEP and that adding a third drug is better.
He gave me a 2 drug regimen(TRUVADA) as PEP. Started my first pill, 39 hours after the possible exposure. Today is my 9th day of taking it. My questions would be: Do I need to worry about this LOW RISK activity? Is the 2 drug (TRUVADA) PEP regimen good enough for me? I’ve read in CDC that since 2013, WHO guideline for PEP has 3 drug regimen? Is the nurse doing the right thing? I’m very much worried now. Hope you can give light to my situation. Do you recommend the truvada over the viread or baraclude? If while being switched from Hepsera to truvada is there a risk that the Hep B could become active? Also , the Hepatitis B DNA is currently undetectable and the Hep B Surface AG is currently negative (both prior to transplant as well as post transplant, so far ) what are the chances that the Hep B could become active again once the Hbig infusions are stopped? Is combivir an appropriate HIV nPEP regimen for one time unprotected encounter with CSW of unknown status in Kenya? I'm a 24 yr male from UK. Insertive vaginal and oral. Asked about Kaletra and doc said it's low risk doesn't recommend, but I am still very worried. Started within 12 hours, but still within 72 if kaletra should be added. I feel terrible of course but appreciate any advice.
With such low risk, he said PEP is not necessary. Regardless, he prescribed me Truvada + Issentress for 28 days at my insistence.
Unsatisfied with my experience at the doctor's office I went to the Gay Men's Health Clinic in NYC the next day for a second opinion on my situation. There, a PharmD and HIV research specialist advised me that PEP is a good idea just to be safe.
After doing some reading, I see that Truvada+Kaletra (or Truvada alone) is a commonly prescribed PeP regimine. I know that Truvada is part of the Stribild combo, but Im not sure why this was the specialists choice? I saw that there is an ongoing clinical trial with regards to Stribild as PeP, which would mean that it is not yet approved for such purposes?
My questions for you are: Will Stribild even be an effective PeP treatment?
I am currently taking truvada and isentress (raltegravir) is this enough I couldn't get my prescription for dolutegravir filled...is this pep enough?
I took the pills consistently for 28 days (one blue truvada pill every 24 hours and two yellow Kaletra pills every 12 hours). The regimen ended August 22nd 2012.
Today is one week later. im going insane. i do not want HIV. I will take a duo test on September 19th 2012 (28 days after PEP and 57 days after possible HIV exposure with woman of unknown status.
What is the likelihood that I have contracted HIV from this woman???
Two days later, my genitals started itching and burning and I got acne on my back, so I went to the doctor, who prescribed PEP (Truvada and Kaletra). This was 62 hours after the encounter. I was on PEP for 30 days. Eight weeks after completing the PEP regimen, I tested negative for all STD's (HIV/Herpes/Hep/Syph/Gon,etc) on November 18. But a week later, I started getting knee pain and muscle aches all over my body (arms, legs, back).

Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. Since the chances a quite low Can I stop taking pep or can I stop kaletra and remain with truvada take it upto 28days.coz kaletra gives me diarrhea.
How can I change from taking Truvada in the noon to taking Truvada at midnight? For instance, should I do two doses of Truvada in one 24 hour period or should I do no doses in one 24 hour period to get it right?
3. When the doctors prescribed the medication I ended up taking 4x the recommended dose of Aluvia. This was due to me having received four cans of Aluvia,not realizing that each can was meant to last 1 week.
I am a gay male and have taken Truvada as PrEP daily since last November.
This past week, I ran out of my Truvada after taking it on Tuesday morning. Prior to that, I had taken it daily for more than a month. I did not take Truvada on Wednesday or Thursday. I changed insurances and wanted to wait to pick up my refill until I got my copay and assistance straightened out.
On Friday I had anal sex as the bottom with a man I know who says he is negative.
