We had sex with a condom, but at one point we did not because the condom slipped off/malfunctioned (not sure). But he told me not to worry because he takes Truvada as Prep for pre-cautionary measures in order not to get HIV. He also believes to be HIV – last time he got checked. He also said he’s been on the Truvda Prep for 2 months and takes it daily. Anyway, I’m still concerned and would like to know: 1. How effective is the Truvada Prep that he is currently taking in preventing getting HIV?

I have been on Truvada for almost 2 years now. For some reasons, the pharmacy couldn't order my prescription until next week, so I might miss my dose for 2 days. I called the doctor to have him do something about this, and he told me that it would be okay to miss it for 2 days since I already reached undetectable HBV DNA for more than a year. How could I dare to miss my dose since I've been told by him 2 years ago that I couldn't miss it? Am I going to be ok for missing 2 days?

The phrmacy had to order it so I can pick it up later today. The Dr. told me that my risk is 1:1000 or .05%. With Truvada it reduces that risk by 80%.. I am almost thinking that this could be more along the lines of an insurance policy.

Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. So I had a discussion with my doctor yesterday regarding the recent elevation in my AST, ALT ( about 1.5 x ULN). I am LAM resistance, on Truvada for almost 2 years now. Everything else (HBV DNA undetectable, ultrasound ok, CBC, fibroscan + all other stuff i have no idea) came back normal. AST + ALT was in normal range all the time but 3 months recently have been up a bit. She advised me to continue monitoring my condition and warn me about possible resistance.

After several hours going from a hospital to another, I finally could get a Truvada pill in the very deadline limit of the treatment, probably between the 72nd and 74th hour after the sex. My hepitologist just prescribed this med. My labs were not good. He hopes to get the virus under control so I can possibly get a kidney transplant. This would be a kidney from a cadaver donator, someone who had hepatitis b. So I am about to begin my journey.
