Avatar m tn Has anyone had side effects of slight fever with Truvada? These are not listed on the package insert, but I note from Dailymed.com Viread did cause fever in clinical trials (i.e., Truvada is a combo of Viread and Emtriva).
Avatar m tn mitochondrial toxicity were using PEP for an extended period of time or taking a different cocktail as opposed to Truvada and Kaletra. Seems like Truvada and Kaletra is typically safe but has the annoying side affects for a few weeks.
Avatar m tn This list has side effects for specific drugs, you can look up your regimen http://www.aidsdrugsonline.com/index.php?
Avatar m tn I believe that the side effects of the noon doses of Truvada + Aluvia are far worse than the side effects from Aluvia alone. Therefore, I would like to switch so that I take Truvada before bedtime (as most others). Some questions: 1. What are the chances of me having acquired HIV? 2. How can I change from taking Truvada in the noon to taking Truvada at midnight? For instance, should I do two doses of Truvada in one 24 hour period or should I do no doses in one 24 hour period to get it right?
Avatar m tn https://www.rxlist.com/truvada-side-effects-drug-center.htm#overview The problem is no other source I've been able to find lists anything close to that. 1. What is the most reliable source of side effects? 2. Is sore throat and mild fever reported as side effects, aside from the rxlist.com above?
Avatar f tn Will truvada and and a respiratory antibiotics have interqction/ side effects if simultaneously on both medicine? or which antibiotics and safe with truvada for respiratory infection?
Avatar m tn No,not for such a short period like that.
Avatar n tn I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.
Avatar f tn m currently taking Kaletra and Combivir.
1012649 tn?1256229718 Will this tablets give me new side effects as I am starting to take them tonight as Atripla gave me NO side effects. Thanx for anyone who will be kind to reply.
Avatar f tn I had very bad side effects like dizziness , nausea, vomiting and also stomach problems. Sometime, I couldn't wake up. I am so weak. By the way, I have Viread( Tenofovir ) 123 mg expired date 1.201,anyone who wants it I will post it. I didn't use it anymore so I can post it free. I also have Tenofovir 245 mg but it is expired 8.2013 so may be it is not good anymore. I used it both of the only 3 tabts each and I stopped.
1223953 tn?1267031036 This drug often causes side-effects which may never go away, while Truvada tends to have little to no side-effects. Of those you mentioned, jaundice, stomach pain, nausea and loss of appetite are fairly common side-effects of Reyataz. Changes in the liver caused by ARV medication is often over a long-period of time and happens gradually - so short of something I've listed as an unusual side-effect affecting the liver there's no immediate urgency. That said...
Avatar m tn my window period for pap closing tomorrow and i am only taking truvada, and i m reading that usually truvada taken with other hiv prophylaxis meds, so this is what i wanted to know if truvada only is enough for prophylaxis. i m calling a doctor but he is not picking up...
Avatar f tn who took a full STD sample blood and urine. Also, she gave me a script for Truvada. I had from my knowlege protected sex with her. What is my risk and should I take Truvada? My window is closing!
Avatar f tn This recommendation would be based on your rather low risk for infection as described above, the possible side effects of the medicine and the cost. At this point cost is no longer and issue and you have an idea of what the side effects are going to be (they may get better over time or worse), so the question now becomes how concerned are you? As I said above, your statistical risk for infection is low. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn This situation is a bit of a mess. You panicked. Your risk from the exposure you describe is low. you do not know that your partner had HIV and the probability that she was is quite low. Furthermore, there is virtually no risk of HIV from receipt of oral sex and, IF your partner had HIV, your risk of HIV form a single brief episode of unprotected intercourse is less than 1 in 1000. You then began to take post-exposure prophylaxis, apparently without a health care provider's supervision.
Avatar m tn As for the two doses, studies indicate that 28 days is required to give the maximum benefit. Side effects I would suspect will be minimal. Truvada carries a risk of hepatotoxicity but this is not a concern after two doses. Your risk is fairly low so take a 4th Gen Duo test at 28 days to give you some relief.
Avatar m tn She advised me to continue monitoring my condition and warn me about possible resistance. I thought truvada (tenofovir) has no resistance up to now. I asked her what I should do when I develop resistance to Truvada. She said she may ADD (or switch, I forgot exactly what she said) Baracude. This surprised me a bit because I thought Baraclude would not work on LAM resistance. Am I wrong?
Avatar m tn They put me on Truvada, and Isentress for ten days and the side effects are killing me. I have vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping, plust the one that really worries me is face pain- like neuropathy to my entire face constantly. I'm wondering what are the odds anything will become long term and could it be damaging my DNA and causing who knows what ailments later in life? basically should I continue the course...
Avatar m tn I am taking Truvada also and Raltagravir. I asked my doctor whether I should change to Atripla but he said Raltagravir has the least side effects. However after 8 years i had two bouts of slight night sweats and am wondering what this means. What is ur CD like? Perhaps checking that may help clarify you anxieties or changing your boosters to Raltagrair might make a difference.
Avatar n tn Rarely but people do show some side effects and risk liver and kidney damage. As I said it is used as HIV medication, depend on type of medication given. Pep is expensive and if it it subsidised, you are using up resources which is meant for people who have had REAL exposure. Now I assume you next question is whether to stop PEP. To start and to stop PEP, is a major decision which a doctor an a patient take after a personal face to face evaluation. Best you speak to him.
