Avatar n tn I am on trinessa. It is my first month on birth control ever and usually my periods are about 19-25 days apart. I am on my 3rd day of the inactive pills right now and have still not gotten my period. I originally went on birth control because my periods are so irregular and to protect myself against pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test two days ago just to settle my nerves and it came back negative. I still have not gotten it though.
Avatar f tn Hey, i have pcos and therefore irregular periods. I didn't had my period for about 2 months and then i took meprate tablet for 5 days 2 tablets a day and it's been 7 days i didn't had my periods. Around one month or one half month before my boyfriend and i casually had orals. Now I'm worried. I don't know what to do. Please help.
Avatar f tn I have always had painful and irregular periods. This past July, I went to my family doctor after fainting, vomiting, and having severe abdominal pain. My Dr. had to go deliver a baby, so I lied in the room in horrible pain for a couple hours; when he finally came back in, the pain was gone. He did a pelvic ultrasound a couple days later and found fluid, which led to a diagnosis of a ruptured ovarian cyst. Nothing was done after that.
Avatar f tn For the last 3-4 months, I've had bleeding that lasts from 3-4 weeks, sometimes even longer. It will stop for about a week or two then come back. I recently went to the doctor for my yearly exam, explained this to her and she feels that what I have is PCOS. So, she put me on birth control. In the past, I've been on birth control due to my irregular periods. Currently, I've been bleeding for 5 weeks and I've been on the BCP Trinessa for a week and 2 days.
Avatar f tn There is a very high risk of pregnancy .It is best to wait for a month or so for your periods to regularize and then start a suitable birth control method. A visit to a gynecologist for discussion on the most appropriate method will be helpful. If you do not get your periods in a week or so it is suggested to take up pregnancy test. A urine/blood test for determining HCG levels may be done. This is only an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination.
Avatar f tn Not a great idea, but doable. A better idea might be to start a completely new pack the week before he gets home. You might bleed a bit from the drop in hormone levels, since you're on a triphasic pill, but you should be bleeding free and protected when he gets home. If you plan on needing to skip periods, you should consider getting a monophasic pill. With those, you can just start a new pack after 3 weeks (don't take the reminder pills), and not get your period.

Avatar n tn I'm having irregular periods and i got periods after 6 months. Now still bleeding for 12 days. Why will be the reason?
Avatar f tn The last 2 months have had 14 days between periods, and the month before last had 31 days between. I run almost every day, so maybe that has something to do with it? Any advice would help. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I talked to my mom and she told me that its normal. and after that i had irregular periods till now. but i think mine are caused by climatic changes i travell quite a lot What i would advice you to do is go to a gynecologist and one thing you should know about them is that they are very secretive and you dont really have to be worried. I Know at your age you love having your own privacy and secrets but you have to open up to your mom for your health's sake.
Avatar n tn I've had irregular periods on and off my hole life. my cycles began when i was almost 13, i lost my mother when i was 14, and that started it. i began having eating issues that were assumed to be anorexia, but i just felt completely nauseous when ever i was upset, and that made my cycle worse. but mine was always stress related, the more 'even keeled' i feel, the more regular my hole body is. have you tried relaxation techniques?
Avatar n tn I am almost 40 years old and the last couple months I have noticed my periods messing up. One period was little long, and then last month normal, and now this month I am 2-3 days late. I had a tubal about 6 years ago so I can't be preg., I have been on phentermine for weight loss last two month.(when all this started) and as of now have lost over 40 lbs in two months time. Had a pap a month ago when I noticed the one long period, and pap came back fine.

Avatar f tn High level of stress, dramatic changes in your life style, high cholesterol, hormonal imbalance as seen in thyroid problems and PCOS, chain smoking, may be some of the common causes of your irregular periods. Cushing’s disease and disorders of adrenal gland, tumors of the ovaries and adrenals, insulin resistance and obesity are some of the other factors. Prolonged use of oral contraceptive pills is another cause. Other important local causes of irregular periods are PCOS and fibroid uterus.
1162804 tn?1288055914 Also can anyone teel me what it means when you have missed a month period (again i am not pregnant) and when you have extremely irregular periods what is wrong with the body and how can it be corrected? Avatar f tn Not sure that I can advise you but can say that I have something similar - my periods have become somewhat irregular, very light and seem to come every two weeks. Not sure if it's spotting due to ovulation or what but I cannot make sense of it. Starting bloodwork with the GYN next week. Will be curious to know what you find out and what others say.
Avatar f tn The Gynaecologist said it is caused by the premolut N and the Provera he prescribed for me, I used premolut N from 23 April and Provera from 21 may 2014. I went to the chemist looking for something to stop the bleeding but they said that I must just wait until the blood stop itself because if I drink different pills I upset my hormones. Do you think its true? wont I be de-hydrated? And what are the chance of me getting pregnant, please help...
Avatar n tn Hello, Depoprovera shots can cause irregularity in the menstrual cycle as longer or shorter menstrual periods, heavier or lighter periods.Other causes of irregular menstrual periods are high level of stress and anxiety, cholesterol, hormonal imbalance, chain smoking, dramatic changes in your life style,PCOS(polycystic ovarian disease) and fibroid uterus. Can you identify any of these factors?
