As I had previously experience of psoriasis, I thought I may help it with triamcinolone cream. After using triamcinolone, I didn't have the itch but once I stopped using it, the itch would come back.
I injected triamcinolone (1/2 ml in two points) under skin (1-2 mm depth). The itch went but the area remained little red for about 2 weeks. Then the area turned into whiter or brighter (which was visible only in sunlight).
Certain factors that may increase the chance of getting vitiligo can be inherited. In fact, about 30% of vitiligo cases run in families. Statistically, 10 to 20 percent of people who have vitiligo fully regain their skin color. This is true for the those who are young, whose vitiligo reaches its peak in less than 6 months and is located mainly on the facial area. My father is attacked by leukoderma for the last 7 years.Is there any possibility to attack by the vitiligo of mine...what preventive measures should i take now........please inform me.......

I am a 26 year old male and I have vitiligo. I feel lost and not sure where to go and who to trust about treating my desease. Is there a cure for vitiligo? If anyone could please steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
The causes of the vitiligo are not fully know. Auto-immunity is the most prominent causes of the vitiligo. Second thing is Inheritance, it have also a minor contribution in vitiligo skin condition.
2. Nevus depigmentosus can be easily differentiated from vitiligo. Although age factor in not much involvement in the Nevu depigmentosus but in about in 19% of the cases these are noted at birth. Their size may however grow in proportion to growth of the body.
Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Within a week to 2 weeks of using a small amount of the cream daily my skin healed. Unfortunately it would recur within about a month. Visited derm dr. recently and he diagnosed as herpes. I have not used the cream and have had a lot of pain and outbreak in the same 2 sites.

After seeing the image, what came to mind is focal vitiligo. Focal vitiligo usually affects certain areas of the body such as the genitals. The well demarcated white patch and the stark delineation between normal and affected skin is noted. Vitiligo is diagnosed after fungal infections , lichen sclerosus, pityriasis alba have been ruled out.
for the last 10 years i have had vitiligo. but for the past year it has slowly been growing on my penis. however shortly after it did, where the vitiligo spread the white skin became more sensitive and dry and easily irritated and itchy. now it has become flaky like its sunburned and i have no idea why. it gets worse after i shower. i have changed soaps and the laundry detergent i use, also its been 7 years since i have been sexually active.
I have vitiligo. It has steadily progressed over the span of 15 years. Do you know of a possible reason for this condition and is there any treatment to slow or stop the progress? I too have vitiligo and never used Elidel. First, this drug is considered a immunomodulator that inhibits t-cell activation and prevents the release of inflammatory cytokines from mast cells. To my knowledge, vitiligo is NOT an inflammatory problem. So why would an anti inflammatory drug work on it. Although vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder and this effects the t-cells, maybe thats why doctors prescribed it.
Anyway some of my facial hair turned white you cant tell and now a couple of hairs in my scalp turned white . My face had 6 vitiligo patches and my lips were starting to get affected . I am now down to just one patch due to narrowband uvb treatment and corticosteroid cream which i have been doing since february this year . my hairs are still white .

Vitiligo is caused by a combination of autoimmune, genetic and environmental factors. The location of vitiligo affected skin changes over time, with some patches re-pigmenting and others becoming affected. The traditional treatment given is corticosteroid cream. Phototherapy and chemical depigmentation may also be beneficial.
my 3 yr old rottie was diagnosed with vitiligo. Is there any treatment and will it affect her quality of life.
