Avatar f tn t need another separate Tramadol withdrawal post, but as similar as the other withdrawal stories seem to be with my own experiences, there is one part which differs greatly with me and I only hope someone may have some insight. Two years ago I tried Tramadol for a week. It's a long story, but after that week I decided to stop taking it. I've been through the withdrawal and quit successfully, but I began using the drug again after that.
1063254 tn?1259018398 I would not take anything else given that you already have quite a pharmaceutical cocktail going on. Please don't take any more tramadol. The combination of amitryptaline and tramadol is not recommended as it can lower the seizure threshold which is a risk anyway with high doses of tramadol. The good news is that the insomnia should not last for too many nights if you have only been on tramadol for four weeks. In the meantime, find a funny movie to watch or post on here or Emily Post.

Avatar m tn My names is Brian and I need a forum for my tramadol addiction. I have taken tramadol for 4 years now and I have finally decided it's time to move on. I am slowly trying to kick it. I'm about four days in (since I made the decision) and I am down to taking 2 to 3 a day (up from about 8 to 10 a day). I'm starting to get jitters and I am having difficulty trying to focus. I also feel like my head is spinning.

Avatar n tn My feeling is that enough of that tramadol stuck around intamuscularly, that when I overdo it, the withdrawal symptoms hit like a ton of bricks. It's dangerous stuff you know? I'm so glad you are here! There's actually quite a few of us currently withdrawing from tramadol. The so called "safe non addictive, no with drawal non opiate" tramadol that the Dcotors pass out like candy. I'm very angry at the drug, that helps!

544292 tn?1268882668 I was developing a social anxiety which I also never had before Tramadol. *kicks Tramadol in head* So now I can go. I need to do a nice Thomas Detox bath. The clothes I am wearing right now are all pajama like in nature, that helps. What I mean is that they are loose and not irritating cause I still feel at times as if I have the flu. My stomach is messed UP! I took the aminos (empty stomach) and the vitamins (after breakfast) and I have NOT thrown them back up ... as I was doing before.
Avatar m tn I'm coming off Tramadol as you know. The depression for me, has lifted, because I think the tramadol was causing it. With you; Is it depression or anxiety? Or is it simply Withdrawal Lethargy? I so undertsand not wantingto take anything else, so I would reccemnd that you correct your diet as much as possible, take the vitamins and aminos and above all, start exercising very slowly. Also getting outside and getting Vitamin D! SO important.
Avatar n tn That is tramadol withdrawal! When i was in deep withdrarwal there would be a knock at the door, and I would literally just freeze and not move. Not answer the door. Barely answered my phone. Barely could even write on here. I mean actually it was even hard for me to find this forum! So, I promise you 100% that you are OVER the worst part of it, even though the next few days will be up and down, Gatting past Day 7 was a major shift for me. You and I have similar back injuries.
Avatar m tn Sub does nothing to affect the mental desire to use that can last for months after tramadol - - reference Emily Post and her blog on Tramadol - just throw it in the med help search engine........ Trams are more of a souped up antidepressant than a real pain pill - but they do have Mu affinity - - Also look in Health Pages for sub withdraws - - most say to not use more than 21 days to avoid totally unpleasant withdraws........
9704730 tn?1405741284 Congrats on your 1 month off of Tramadol. That, is a huge accomplishment. Withdrawal from Tramadol is a difficult and long process. Hang in there. Hopefully, you will start feeling better soon. Make sure you are staying very hydrated, taking vitamins and supplements, and if at all possible get outside for some mild exercise. Even short walks outside will help. For me during withdrawals, the more I sat or layed around, the worse I felt.
Avatar f tn Yes it can rasie you sezuire chances .... Also just as scary there is somthing called Serotionin syndrome Serotonin syndrome is a life-threatening drug reaction that causes the body to have too much serotonin, a chemical produced by nerve cells. Serotonin syndrome most often occurs when two drugs that affect the body's level of serotonin are taken together at the same time. The drugs cause too much serotonin to be released or to remain in the brain area.
Avatar m tn My doctor doesn’t think it will still be the tramadol as she thinks the withdrawal will have gone by now. I think it is the Tramadol. Do you think it might still be the tramadol 45 to 50 days after stopping (cold turky from 400 to 500 mg daily) making me feel very uneasy and panicky?
572713 tn?1237094902 i never liked lortab and probably will never. i quit tramadol on feb 27th 2009, i have no desire for it now. on day 6 post op while still in hospital i had a very bad day. those thoughts of, did i do the right thing, what have i done, the type of stuff that makes any pain you have 10 times worse. well , not MY doctor, but one of my doctors decided to put me on tramadol without reading my file.
544292 tn?1268882668 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
722310 tn?1234762137 Hi Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time. I have been on Tramadol for nearly3 years now. I have done some research regarding withdrawal as I am aware my body is dependant on it. If you search 'emily posts tramadol withdrawal and recovery room' in this site you will find a forum with lots of people discussing thier withdrawal experiances. It seems to be a mix of people who have been prescribed it and either used it as they were supposed to or have abused it.
Avatar m tn I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I know how difficult withdrawal from tramadol is, I've been off this horrible drug for over 150 days now and quitting was the best decision I've made in a very long time (maybe ever?) You can do this - just take a deep breath and check out emilys posts on tramadol withdrawal.
Avatar f tn You may want to check out the Emily Post Tramadol and Ultram Recovery Rooms/Journals right here on Med Help. Lots of stories from people that have experience with this medication.
Avatar f tn Hi dani170, I was addicted to tramadol for over 6 years. I quit cold turkey almost 6 months ago and the withdrawal was the worst thing I ever felt in my life. I also quit xanax at the same time and together, the experience was something I never ever want to relive again. Ever. I know what you're going through. Tramadol is a sneaky little poisonous drug.
1541838 tn?1294327171 There are many, many others going through tram withdrawal right now. You should look for a member by the name of Emily Post and read her journal postings. It's because of her that I am nearly 300 days free from tramadol. Hopefully this will actually show up...if not, just look for Emily's profile and her journals and you'll find many others in the same situation that you are in. http://www.medhelp.org/personal_pages/show/142?personal_page_id=142 http://www.medhelp.
393709 tn?1295964416 I have been taking tramadol again for a few months. I am hoping the withdrawal will not be so bad. Anyone have any ideas? I am on 200 to 300 a day.
Avatar f tn I just know your suffering will be short. There is an old thread on here just for Tramadol folks. Search for Emily post in the search engine here in the upper right corner. A gal named Emily started a thread many years ago. She made it her journal and others found it and learned from her daily writings. It is like the Tramadol Sacred Thread. The postings and pointers from so many people is endless. It is 62 pages long of just Tramadol detoxers. I posted too for support.
