Tramadol with acetaminophen

Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol with acetaminophen

ultracet

Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar m tn ULTRACET contains tramadol HCl and acetaminophen. Acetaminophen has been associated with cases of acute liver failure, at times resulting in liver transplant and death. Most of the cases of liver injury are associated with the use of acetaminophen at doses that exceed 4,000 milligrams per day, and often involve more than one acetaminophen-containing product.
Business man2 Hydrocodone only comes with either acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Tramadol is another medication that I use with my patients that is of equal effectiveness but does come without the other medications. However, some patients will experience nausea with tramadol. Good luck!
1909342 tn?1321993880 I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much? What would be appropriate here and how much would be 'healthy'?
Avatar m tn Thanks Mercedes175.....So I've been taking this wrong. I took my Tramadol with 2 ibuprofen and not acetaminophen. I figured what's the difference...apparently there is. That's a lesson learned about following the Dr. directions exactly. I guess they way I've been feeling is a certain amount of withdrawal and not my injury symptoms. I'm off to the store to pickup some Tylenol.
1128565 tn?1316721143 A medication that you can ask for for temporary use is tramadol (usually a low will be more suitable for you to prevent opiate addiction, so you can ask for tramacet which is 37.5mg tramadol and 325mg acetaminophen) since it's really close to Effexor and it already been used to make the Effexor withdrawals less intense.
Avatar f tn Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone/Acetaminophen. Tramacet is also another combo medication containing Tramadol/Acetaminophen. Mostly it is pain medications that you see the "cet" at the end of and all that means is that it contains acetaminphen. Both narcotic and non-narcotic pain medications can contain acetaminophen. They usually add tylenol to these types of meds hoping that the Now for the subject of the tramadol, I took this for several years for chronic pain.
Avatar f tn s amazing to me that there are still doctors out there telling people that Tramadol is not addictive. Ultracet is Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Your husband is a WISE man to question this before he takes it! Congrats to him on 7 yrs Clean!!! If he is able to tolerate NSAIDS, he could take those or just acetaminophen (w/o the synthetic opioid, i.e. tramadol). I find that Advil Liqui-Gel Capsules work the best for me and there are generic versions of this too at Walmart or Walgreens.
318582 tn?1248118551 In my limited knowledge hydrocodone itself has no real bad effect on the liver. It is often marketed in pill form for pain relief with acetaminophen (tylenol). The tylenol too is not especially harmful to the liver except when used after drinking alcohol. drinking activates an enzyme CYP2E1 in the liver. This enzyme may transform elements in the tylenol into chemicals that are harmful to the liver.
3849996 tn?1348340157 Hello I was sent here to ask this question, I am being treated for a herniated dics, bulging disc, pain in nerve thus causing fibromyalgia. For the most part, I have been able to use natural methods but extreme temps, an injury or now a cyst or mass on my ovary is causing pain. Level can be up to 8. Anyway, for 5 days of ovulation if it's bad, the doctor will treat me with lortab 10/500 and sometimes tramadol. August was very painful in the heat and swelling, so it was both medications.
1225178 tn?1318980604 Any person who drinks alcohol regularly should not consume any acetaminophen. For patients with early cirrhosis (CPT class A or B), the use of acetaminophen is safe as long as the recommended dose is not exceeded (1,000 mg per dose, repeated no more often than every 6 hours). Patients with more advanced cirrhosis should take only ½ of the recommended dose. In fact, for patients with cirrhosis, acetaminophen, when used as described, is the preferred medication for the treatment of pain.
Avatar m tn It is safe to take the tramadol along with the percocet but BE WARNED they are VERY addictive and it takes only weeks of daily use for ur body to become dependent on the drug! Withdrawal from tramadol is like nothing else in the world so PLEASE BE CAREFUL but if u only use it a couple times a week during your healing time u should not have any issues with physical dependency.
Avatar f tn So my question to u is if i stop with the percocets will i have any w/d being as though im still taking the tramadol?
Avatar f tn Usually the doctor will tell you not to take any opiates 8 or so hours before your injection if they are also injecting you with something like fentanyl along with the steroid. Tramadol is technically an opioid, although synthetic, it is still considered a narcotic. Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
Avatar m tn I am having some severe side effects concerning short term memory loss, irritability, and fatigue. I have taken Ibuprofen 800mg, nortriptyline HCL 25mg, promethazine 25mg, acetaminophen COD#3, cycmbalta 30mg, pamelor 25mg, cyclobenzarrine 10mg, hydrocodone 500mg, methycprednisolone 4mg, tramadol HCL 50 mg, and viagra 100mg. My question is will any of the medications i was subscribed or taken in combination have symptons of severe memory loss?
Avatar f tn Ultracet is Tramadol and acetaminophen. Tramadol is highly addictive and a bear to quit. Those on Tramadol should taper off of it. It is a synthetic opiate. Most here would not recommend it for w/d.
Avatar f tn I a not a doctor but, I also have lower back problems, degenerated disk, herniated disk, and hep c... so far 100mg of tramadol twice a day seems to work for me, I also take hydrocodone once and a while if my pain is bad, same as lortab only 5/500.
Avatar m tn Tramadol is not only a painkiller by affecting the u-opioid receptor but it also have the proprieties of inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine which would make it a painkiller with SNRI proprieties. Pristiq is a SNRI antidepressant so both are interacting together. So you have increased risk of serotonin toxicity and increased risk of seizures and other neurological symptoms. Please call her doctor to let him know this is happening.
Avatar m tn In general, acetaminophen at reduced dosing is a safe option. In patients with cirrhosis, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided to avert renal failure, and opiates should be avoided or used sparingly, with low and infrequent dosing, to prevent encephalopathy. ...The greater the progression of liver dysfunction, the greater the impairment in drug metabolism.
Avatar f tn I would think her nephrologist would be more concerned if she is taking anything that may be harmful to the kidneys... Acetaminophen is found in Lortabs and Darvocet, and Tramadol is contraindicated for anyone with kidney problems. Phenergan has a sedating effect at high dosages and is also sometimes given for nausea (which she may be experiencing due to renal disease). In any case, Lortabs, Darvocet, and Tramadol are all opioids and should be addressed by the methadone counselor.
Avatar n tn Do you mean Tramadol? It is a non narcotic pain reliever used for long term pain treatment alone or in conjuction with vicodin or other narcotic pain relievers. It usually has acetaminophen in it so don't take tylemol with it. It is non addicting also. Hope this helps....
