Avatar f tn First, I am a female, not a male, - thank you all for your replies. My stomach stopped hurting after the wekend, I have no more pain there. Is there a way just to reply and not ask another question? I'm calling my doctor today, he didn't seem to be concerned about tramadol at all. I tried to edit my profile, but no luck. I am getting off tramadol, thanks!
Avatar n tn It still hurts and it will hurt but I do have some tramadol to get me through the vacation. It really does suck that I abused these in the past. I swear it seems like if I didnt then I would be fine taking my medication for a few months and then stop with no problem. Instead since it was my DOC I can take for a few months realize its getting bad again, stop and go through WD's!
8265858 tn?1403378544 Hey Scared, Good news/bad news. The trams only paused your w/d process from the norco's so you will begin at day one of w/d……but the good news is you've only taken the trams for 2 weeks which is GREAT cause thats a whole different w/d process.
Avatar n tn The reality of things is that it's going to be crappy for awhile. The good news is that it does get better. We didn't get here in one day..so remember...easy does it.
Avatar m tn Hi! Next month I will be clean from tramadol for one year. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that you can do it too. The bad news? No magic pill! That is what got you in this mess, so try not to look for an easy way out of it, because there is not one. If you stop, you will feel bad for about a week after your last pill. They do need to be tapered, and you are on such a high dose that you will need medical supervision.
5262038 tn?1415312585 The best news I see in your situation is everyone finally agrees on no more tramadol. That will be forcing all of you to seek alternatives, rather than trying to decide if opioids are a choice. So, this is the last detox, that is awesome! I don't even know close to how many times I've gone through withdrawal, I don't miss it. Sometimes it takes a long while to find other solutions, now everyone is on board to find them. That's good news.
Avatar m tn I am sure we are all hoping she will get diagnosed and offered medication. She did say that Tramadol and Diazepam are not helping with the shoulder pain and arm weakness. Good Luck tomorrow Sheila. You know your forum family members will be there with you in spirit at the neurologist.
680303 tn?1239984840 I was given tramadol about 1 1/2 yrs ago for chronic pain. I read that is can madke you pain worse. I see myself going up and down with the pain. I am taking about 200mg or less a day. I think I want off. My pain got so bad, they put me on ms contin (lowest dose) and it helped but then my husband got sick and I had to do more and was hurting more and was given a little more, that I don't always take in full anount. I am sick of these pills and after reading about the tramadol, I want off.
518798 tn?1295212279 Okay, a fellow teacher confided in me today that she has been taking a lot more tramadol than she is suppose to. She told me she was taking 10 at a time before she would go to bed. I know that is a lot, but I don't really know anything about tramadol, so I am wondering if that is an outrageous amount that could send her to the hospital. This is the only friend at school I have confided in about my addiction so I really want to help her. Can someone give me a little info about tramadol.
Avatar m tn Hello fellow Chronic Pain Patient, Oh dear! You took Tramadol without a current RX? I am sorry to say you may be in trouble with your PMP. I'm only guessing here, using my common sense. I assume (I hate to assume) that your initial (quick and easy) UDT (Urinary Drug Test) results were different than they had been in the past.
Avatar f tn No, do not take Tramadol. Unless you want to make your withdrawals worse and prolonged. I use to have an addiction to hydrocodone. Once took 40 Norco in 14 hours. And I can tell you Tramadol is Far more dangerous to get involved with! The withdrawals are worse than Heroin, many many people have said. I have had withdrawals from Methadone, and I can tell you Tramadol is just as bad. Tramadol is bad news, not to start is the best idea!
Avatar f tn I'm so hopeful. Today is actually 1week off of the tramadol and 17 days no norco, yesterday I wasn't sure that I was gonna be able to make it today I feel almost good almost myself. Some really difficult stuff happened today and have some very bad news to tell my 18 yr old son. Any task would have needed drugs for me to deal but by the grace of God and the help ive gotten right here I think I can do this. Sonany body out there struggling just hang in there your miracle is coming.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm new as of today. This is day 4 of no tramadol. I'm cold turkeying it. Wow is this a bad thing! I never dreamed that a " non narcotic" drug would do this! I thought I could just quit it and be fine, in pain of course but not deathly ill! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
446097 tn?1223694666 Is it "ok" to take a Tramadol to help with WD from Norco? I am at the end of day 4 CT from 5 to 10 10mg Norco a day and I am feeling HORRIBLE. I am reading all of these horrible things about Tramadol and wondering if I am prolonging the WD or will it just help to get me through? YES, I have been here b4 but never made it 4 days CT. The GOOD news is that I have no pills in the house and no refills. That is a first for me in 5 years!
Avatar m tn t know the spelling but it is the ingredient in regular over counter tylenol times 3 plus Tramadol. The main ingredient in Ultram is Tramadol but there is a difference. When you are prescribed straight Tram it is w/out the tylenol. Apparently when taken together (Ultram prescription) the tramadol works faster and longer. It becomes more potent when you mix the two. It speeds up the tramadol effect if you will.
Avatar f tn s emotional wellbeing have been affected as well as his own, therefore he needs rehab asap. He says he only has 23 Tramadol and nothing else and as his doctor here will not give him anymore he needs to taper what he has over the next few days to last until the weekend when he will be admitted. He is currently down to 8. Should he go 7 today, 6 tomorrow, five the next day and so on until they are gone? any suggestions please or advise on other meds that will make come down easier for him.
Avatar m tn Dear Molytex, It sounds like you have already done extensive research on chemical imbalance, drug side effects and interactions. The good news is that among most painkillers, Tramadol has one of the shortest withdrawals. Usually after about 2 weeks of stopping Tramadol use, your endorphins stabilizes and you start feeling better, so you are right there. In response to your question, you are being very reasonable.
Avatar f tn Ultram was bad news for me after Darvocet was taken off the market. It is not a narcotic pain reliever but if you take a SSRI antidepressant it can cause a horrible reaction called seratonin syndrome. Will our doctors and the powers that be ever smart up with what is being doled out and how much? With the age of computers and big Big Brother insurance companies watching every move it seems not.
Avatar m tn I thought I was being good by taking Tramadol because it is non-narcotic. I was up to about 200 mg three times a day for back pain from an old car wreck. Three days ago I had a seizure and stopped breathing. My poor husband had to give me cpr, and my sweet 10 year old boy saw it all. I am so ashamed. I was taken by ambulance to ER. Got the CAT scan and EEG. have an appt. with a Neurologist in TWO WEEKS (you know how long it takes.) Meanwhile, I am in lotsa pain.
Avatar m tn Good news is Tramadol is not physically addicting like benzodiazepines are. Not so good news is it can be mentally addicting. As a recovering addict myself, 4 years, 1 month, 26 days, my question for you is why do you take the Tramadol? The next step would then be to look for things to replace that feeling with in your life. For instance, if you take it to feel comforted, then do activities that give you a similar sense of comfort during the day.
Avatar f tn Tramadol does not contain anti-deppressant in Tramadol. Tramadol is a semi-synthetic drug. Tramadol is how us say a fake opiate. You can say a kind of purely man made chemical that is a partial opiate. Abrupt withdrawal from highlevel could be dangersous because you are susceptible to seizures from this fake opiate. Hope that this helps you understand a little more of the property and makeup of Tramadol.
175688 tn?1297556647 trqams are bad news..specially if u have a history...if u r checking out this drug..u need to know they r addicting trams r narcotic like...but affect the same receptors as narcotics affect....plus they have an AD effect that will kick ur rear end when u try and get off of them..so they r a double whammy! it is the depression that is worse than narc wd that causes a tram user to return to using....for the minimal pain relief they give..
Avatar n tn I have been taking Tramadol, (Ultram) 50MG 5X a day. I moved recently from NC to FL and the doctors down here are horrible. My brother has paid for a couple doctor visits for me but it was useless since the doctor would not prescribe my meds. So i had to go to URGENT CARE, which thank god he would prescribe my Tramadol. However, Urgent Care can only prescribe a certain amount, such as 65 Tramadol a month, when it used to be 100-120 a month. I would have to go to PAIN MANAGEMENT.
Avatar f tn can you get addicted to tramadol 2 a day, along with paracetmol and what is the pain relief given in the arm for the arm by a needle
Avatar f tn I had surgery in 2004 for the tennis elbow, got norco for a year for the pain, then they switched me to this tramadol and hydro 5 mgs. I quit the hydro with no problem and figured that this tramadol would be a piece of cake since it's supposed to be a non narcotic drug. My husband and I are on vacation. He works very hard and when vacation time comes, well lets say he really deserves it. I've been too sick to do anything for 3 days besides lay in bed and try to sleep.
