728965 tn?1266373645 Hi, I just did a quick google on 'Tramadol and Veginal Bleeding' and found some relation between the two, and it might interact with other meds you're taking. Http://www.drug.com usually has good info. and drug side effects and interations. . Since I'm in a very mush jello mode today, I didn't spend much time reading every article I found. Try using your search engine and see what you can find. I've never had side effects like that........
Avatar n tn Then we went to another GI specialist and he stopped my Nexium and then I had GI bleeding again. It is very rare to have a recurrent bleeding episode without any apparent cause except excessive acid. Do you have any explanation and remedy for this condition?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. I have had an upper GI endoscopy but the GI doctor said the was no bleeding and they didn't see anything. Of course this is before the pain gotten as bad as it is now. I am a Veteran and I go to the VA for healhcare. My doctor insists on having an abdominal ultrasound but when I went to the ER, they already did one. I have asked my doctor for a CT scan and HIDA scan but she just said she wanted to repeat the abdoninal ultrasound.
469210 tn?1219188128 I take Ultram/Tramadol. My GI and my pharmacist both told me that if you are taking Ultram daily that you can't take certain Anti-D's as Ultram like the anti D's affect the seratonin in the brain.
Avatar m tn Severe complications from analgesia in these patients include hepatic encephalopathy, hepatorenal syndrome, and gastrointestinal bleeding, which can result in substantial morbidity and even death. In general, acetaminophen at reduced dosing is a safe option. In patients with cirrhosis, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided to avert renal failure, and opiates should be avoided or used sparingly, with low and infrequent dosing, to prevent encephalopathy. ...
Avatar f tn If tiredness and nausea would be from anemia, then anemia would be clearly seen on blood testing. And, if anemia would be from gastrointestinal bleeding, than blood would be found in the stool with stool blood test (not necessary that blood would be seen with a naked eye). Tiredness and nausea and weight loss could be from cancer, but **colorectal cancer is extremely rare under age of 40. **Small intestinal lymphoma is also rare for your age.
Avatar m tn What did they determine is causing the bleeding at the juncture of the small and large intestine? This CANNOT be ignored and the cause needs to be determined and treated! Find yourself a good Gastroenterologist for further investigation as to why you are bleeding where you are. Get on a stool softener like Miralax (not habit forming) and you may have to play around with the dosage to get what works for you. Also, eat yogurt enriched with probiotics everyday.
Avatar f tn Yes stomach and intestinal issues are possible side effects. Have you consulted your doctor? What dose are you on? Do you take as prescribed?
544292 tn?1268882668 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
548642 tn?1266179652 re pretty young for colon cancer, unless you have a family history, but any rectal bleeding is potentially serious and should be seen as soon as possible.
Avatar m tn Good morning, For about three weeks, I've had fairly significant changes to my bowel habits. There is blood in my stool which is generally bright red, and my stools tend to be very gassy and pass partially formed, and partially as diarrhea. The color of the stools is a light, reddish brown (notwithstanding the occasional bright red blood on the surface).
4705307 tn?1447970322 I have an appointment to see a GI but that is not until 9/23, not acceptable, and yet it is what it is. I have called the GI office and tried to get in earlier, nothing yet. What should I do? How can I "cool" my stomach off, can you recommend some sort of diet, I have in 31 weeks lost 38 lbs, am now down to what I weight in H.S. 37 years ago, and am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with that, vanity, another issue I was unaware of.LOL.
Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone has any idea as to about how long certain w/d symptoms from Tramadol last? I have not had any Tramadol in 11 days and I am having severe GI upset (abdominal cramping and diarrhea) and the restless legs at night are terrible. can't sleep to save my life right now. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I think the ER have been somewhat apathetic about a resolution of your problem. Even though they may not have been able to perform it - they could at least have suggested a colonoscopy to ascertain the cause of your rectal bleeding which should always be investigated until a cause is found.
968560 tn?1307451498 I am a fan of Tramadol (Ultram) as, it helps me immensely with the muscle and bone aches and helps my mood as well. JennyPenny, Tramadol works best when you keep a steady level of it in your blood stream, doesn't work as well when you only take it sporadically after you've already gotten the pain. I've found that taking it in small quantities every day, it controls my pain nicely and I can still function w/o having it effect me in a drowsy, slurred speech type of manner.
Avatar f tn Thanks, after talking to multiple other doctors and pharmacists, they all said the same thing. All NSAIDS can cause bleeding and flare ups, specially for Crohns patients. I'm fairly certain my GI has no idea on what he is doing.
Avatar f tn Hi, Black tarry stools indicate bleeding in the upper GI tract. Since you have dyspeptic symptoms also, you most probably have a bleeding peptic ulcer. Upper GI endoscopy has to be done to find the source of bleedingand treat it. You need immediate medical attention. =============================================================== The information provided is for patients’ education only and is not a medical advice.
Avatar f tn omeprazole 40mg twice daily, linzess 145mcg, birth control, carafate and reglan, tramadol as needed (maybe twice a week as I try not to take it). I also have a prescription for zofran, prochlorperazine, and phenegan as well but don't take them cause they don't help. Initially I was told the nausea and issues were IBS, then a year ago I was told I had gastritis, diagnosed through egd, and treated with omeprazole 40my/twice a day since then.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
