I was once given tramadol and cocodamol together in hospital, and take them together regularly now. However, the tramadol must NOT be the type which is combined with paracetamol, as then you would be overdosingon paracetamol. What you don't say is what strengths you are talking about. I take cocodamol 30mg two tablets, which is extremely strong. There are cocodamol mixtures with less codeine phosphate in them. Personally I take the strong version and add in one 50mg Tramadol.

TORADOL inhibits platelet function and is, therefore, CONTRAINDICATED in patients with suspected or confirmed cerebrovascular bleeding, patients with hemorrhagic diathesis, incomplete hemostasis and those at high risk of bleeding (see WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS).
TORADOL is CONTRAINDICATED as prophylactic analgesic before any major surgery.
Its a opiod and it has the same potential of abuse but low rates of abuse because people prefer hydrocodones and oxycodones. But tramadol is a little weaker opiod and it also works on your seratonin levels so its little different. So treat it as the vicoden if you are looking at tolerence and addiction.

Tramadol is not only a painkiller by affecting the u-opioid receptor but it also have the proprieties of inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine which would make it a painkiller with SNRI proprieties. Pristiq is a SNRI antidepressant so both are interacting together. So you have increased risk of serotonin toxicity and increased risk of seizures and other neurological symptoms. It helps with the pain without having the foggy-headed side effects from narcotics. I can actually function and get things done with the tramadol. Don't get me wrong, I still have days where I reach for the vicodin, but not every day like I used to. As for cyst pain, tramadol doesn't touch it, I do have to take vicodin for that.

Taper is right tramadol has differnet withdrawal symptoms including siezures so be careful. Be honest with your doctor and ask him to give you a taper schedule and he may also be able to give you other meds to help besides suboxone. Get OTC meds for any flu like symptoms and take vitamins and drink a lot of water. You can do it without the subs you have only been using them for a short time.
need to do own research) i stopped all med for 48 hrs and tramadol and prozac permantenly and immediatly began feeling better...i called my dr when i figured out what was wrong and her nurse said she (the doc) doesn't think i had that...i left her and every time i mention this story to docs i encounter they are blown away no-one helped me...
I read in one of the threads that you can't mix tramadol and antidepressants. Is this true? What are the risks?
My Dr. has me on both - I am trying to very slowly cut back on the Tram. I pill every week. I know it is painfully slow - but it is all I am able to do right now. I am working on alternative pain management methods, and getting the courage up to dump the pills once and for all.
