Hi there, I'd be careful using L-Lysine ointment on your tongue. It's meant for sores and ulcers. How long have you had the sore on your tongue? Is the sore on top of your tongue or underneath your tongue? Just wondering.

I get these white/clear bumps underneath my tongue frequently they go away after awhile and by friends ive been told they are "stress bumps" and that you get them when stressed but i am not convinced i have had this bump under my tongue since this morning and i havent been stressed what is it?

i have burning inside my mouth and cancor sores underneath my tongue. even chewing gum burns my mouth and i can't use toothpaste. i use peroxide to brush my teeth because i have sores that come and go on the right side of my mouth to the gums and underneath and along side my tongue on the right side. i had a dentist tell me this was more than likely a vitamin deficiency of some sort but after all this time i tend to think it is possibly an acid surplus.

Well both side of my tongue started to become plain around a year ago....the top surface started to become more debris attracting kind....it gets dirty after every meal I have and looks like a coating...In the morning I brush my tongue lightly and then its gone.I don't need to scrap them off.As I said both side of my tongue started to become plain with irregular patches that comes and goes....but since past two months its remaining plain on two side and front.

If you have been diagnosed with HSV 1 on the tongue (intraoral herpetic ulcers on tongue), is this something that will continue to reoccur throughout your life as a cold sore would on the lip? Is there anywhere that has info about this as well? Thanks!

I honestly don't know. I had sex with somebody while drunk and I don't think we used a condom. I can't ask him as I don't have his info. Classy eh ! 2 weeks after I get 6 ulcers on my tongue that just won't go, my tongue feels on fire. I read that mouth ulcers where a symptom of ARS and I freaked out. Are they? I know I need to test and I will but these ulcers are worrying me a lot.

I got my tongue pierced about a year and half ago, but I have suddenly got a lot of ulcers in around my mouth and my tongue and gums are swollen and i just wanted to know if that had anything to do with my tongue piercing. my tongue piercing looks pretty normal apart from the fact that my tongue is swollen and the end of it is numb and funny feeling as if i've burnt the to of it.

5 months for HIV, syphillis and herpes all negative. Doctor presribed steroid paste for tongue. When I take it the ulcers on the boarder of my tongue go away only to return a few days later. I am confident I am HIV negative but would like to find out what is causing these ulcers. If you are able to find out please let me know.

Its possible he may have an infection of the salivary gland on the floor of the mouth underneath the tongue. It could also be food stuck underneath, trauma or an ulceration of some sort, candidiasis (which is a fungal infection) or it could be perfectly normal such as white spongy nevus. Any other symptoms?

m 35 weeks today, the past few weeks my tongue has developed these little ulcers.. ALL (ob, family and dentist) my doctors say they are normal with pregnancy and will go away on their own.. How many other mama's are going through this? & is there something you do aside from watching what you eat, to help? Thank you ladies..

Though, I was wondering if anyone else has had sores appear on their tongue? Just last month, I was washing my hands and noticed I had three red areas on my tongue: two on the tip and one a little to the side. I was reading online that ulcerative colitis can cause sores to appear in your mouth and didn't know if this was a cause for the sores to appear. Now, I have one on the tip of my tongue that just appeared yesterday and today it has a white center.

I have had very bad geographic tongue on the top of my tongue for years now, but only recently developed peeling mucosa underneath. It is easily treatable with some steriods. All in all, huge crisis averted. I hope my anxiety will give someone else some relief. Also, if anyone has a differential diagnosis, let me know.

gave me meds and it all cleared in a week but now I still have loose stool and reacurring ulcers and my tongue is crazy looking giraffe tongue and it hurts and looks hairy and yellow marks,no appetite till this day and its week 10/11 I got tested 4 weeks and it was negative she got tested 3time at 6 weeks after she cheated negative but one of the test the back round didnt clean but it said negative but they redid it to make sur and I took another test at 7 weeks negative ....

Your descriptions appear to be consistent with clinical presentation of geographic tongue or benjgn migratory glossitis.

Guys-- I have a topographical tongue I used to think it was ulcers. I had no idea what was going on. I suddenly became sensitive to all sorts of foods and drinks. Spicy/citrus/chocolate even. Processed foods with too much salt yada yada yada. I went to dentists/gp and specialists and they told me this is what I have. Basically for me- I don’t have the top layer of my tongue. Who knows where it went, did I have it in the first place?

I looked in my mouth and noticed a lump underneath my tongue and it was very painful to the touch and eating. Now this lump extends the back of my mouth going under my tongue and then connects to the back of my tongue. The pain is now constant and only lessons with ibuprofen. I now also have pain going to my ear and to the back of my head when I move my tongue a certain way, so I have to be careful not to move it that way.

He said when I went off the inf they would go away and they did, probably about 10 days later so I've always assumed he was correct since he said as soon as the peg was out of my system they would go away too and they did.

It is a light white color and as I said it is very painful. It is right a the base of the underneath tongue, so whenever I actually move my tongue it makes it hurt..well even when I don't move my tongue it hurts. Can you help me figure out what it is?

I have very recurrent mouth ulcers, a feeling of tiredness,dry tongue and burning sensation in the eyes.I have been diagonised with acidity in the stomach and prescribed medicines taken.(Endoscopy done twice)The symptoms still persist.Is this due to acidity?

Do you have/use a tongue scrubber or tongue scraper? Bad smells come from bacteria on the tongue (the white stuff). Try Therabreath brand mouth wash, dentist recommended it to my fiance who was having similar issues. He started using a tongue gel and tongue scraper ans the mouthwash after brushing his teeth and it's helped temendously.

I, too, have had a slight fever, but severe pain from ulcers on my tongue and on the roof of my mouth. The pain is from the tip of my tongue to the root, palate, throat, and even to my right ear. An MD glanced at my mouth and said I have a few ulcers and offered only some numbing mouthwash. I want to know why this is happening, not put a bandaid on it. Have you gotten information on your similar problem?
