Common Questions and Answers about Tolterodine hplc

detrol

Avatar f tn DETROL LA Capsules contain tolterodine tartrate. The active moiety, tolterodine, is a muscarinic receptor antagonist. The recommended dose of DETROL LA Capsules are 4 mg daily. DETROL LA should be taken once daily with liquids and swallowed whole. The dose may be lowered to 2 mg daily based on individual response and tolerability. Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with an over-active bladder which causes incontinence and pain after urination.A urologist has prescribed medication containing Tolterodine tartrate.Should I be taking this if I am already on medication for Atrial Fibrillation? Thanks.
Avatar n tn hi im 16 years old and for about the last 4 months i have had the constant urge to go to the toilet. i have been to the doctors over 6 times with the problem now and still nothing has changed. at first the doc said that i could have an infection, so after taking 3 different types of tablets nothing had happened and the doc said it was not that. they sent me to a hospital and i had a ultrasound test done on my lower stomach IE kidneys bladder etc.
9648 tn?1290091207 re part of a study, you might be able to settle any argument with your dr by getting her to run a plasma HPLC assay - ultimately that's the factor that correlates with outcome: "Prediction of sustained virological response by ribavirin plasma concentration at week 4 of therapy in hepatitis C virus genotype 1 patients." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.

Avatar f tn Drugs such as oxybutynin chloride (Ditropan®) and tolterodine (Detrusitol®, Detrol LA®) are taken orally, once a day, for overactive bladder. You can consult your doctor for these options. Also, I suggest you can initiate antibiotics like ofloxacin for better management of the infection.

Avatar n tn was 5 points high, good cholest was 5 points low. Bun/creatine ratio was a little low, but the numbers themselves were avg. HPLC was 5.7 (5.6% was the top range for normal). Bacteria was classified as rare. Since then, I've had a few good days in terms of bowel movements, but experience discomfort (not pain really) below the ribs (upper middle) on both sides (sometimes more on the left side), lower back, and mid-back (though i think the mid-back is from lifting my daughter).
Avatar m tn This paper btw seems very consistent with other similar studies, including those that show serum riba levels (via HPLC testing) help deterimine both RVR and SVR. Unfortunately HPLC testing for serum riba levels is not available except in trial situations, but if it were, then one could reasonably pre-dose and keep increasing the riba dose until a set serum riba level was met.
Avatar f tn These 35 patients had urinary free cortisol determined by both HPLC and competitive binding methods. The efficacy of the HPLC assay using cortisol alone was equivalent to that of the competitive binding assay; 22 of 29 (76%) patients had increased cortisol. Cortisone also aided in the diagnosis; 25 of 29 (86%) had increased cortisone. Twenty-seven of the 29 (93%) patients had either both cortisone and cortisol (n = 19) or at least 1 of the 2 (n = 8) increased.
Avatar f tn Hi Swish, Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I'm glad you found us and posted your question here. As usual our Remar has offered some good information. UDT (urinary Drug Test) is a chemical science - either well or poorly understood by PMP. Chemistry was never my strong suit - and that's what UDTs are all about. It depends on the type of UDT your PMP utilized.
Avatar m tn This was not it. Almost a week ago, my doctor prescribed Detrol LA 2mg (Tolterodine L-tartrate 2mg) capsules, to be taken once a day. I first started taking them a week and a half ago, and they don't seem to have had an effect. It's for a condition called "overactive bladder", however, the symptoms of this condition don't really match mine. I also drink lots of water every day, and I don't have diabetes.
Avatar m tn Lindahl mesured riba absorption through HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) testing which is not available in this country, unless perhaps in some research labs. Unfortuantely, very little work here in this area which could potentially have salvaged many, many SVRs, but resources (money and white coats) are elsewhere, mostly with the PI's. I expect we will see some pre-dosing studies soon and maybe some enlightened clinicians will start demanding HPLC testing for their patients.
26471 tn?1211936521 s different now, but two years ago when treating I found it impossible to test for serum riba levels (HPLC technology) in this country. I was about to hop a plane to Sweden to test when I hit the riba wall (ended up in the ER) and decided I probably was at my maximum dose :) HPLC testing would have been a bit more elegant!
Avatar n tn You have a high urine - (and the doctor used a test that is less sensitive, there is a more sensitive test that has a lower range using a method called HPLC). The high calcium shows that you may have a parathyroid issue - and that should be addressed as well - in fact, if you have that, with a pituitary and adrenal tumor, the doc should be evaluating you for MEN - multiple endocrine neoplasia. Just my thoughts out there.
144210 tn?1273088782 re comparing a 12-year old study that would be easy to implement (tapering) with a recent finding that would be very difficult to implement (if not impossible) in this country because HPLC testing for serum ribavirin is not available in clinical settings. Also, my guess is that Shiffman is quite flexible on riba dosing (other than weight) if he's in sync with some his collegues that I've consulted with.
158241 tn?1237719523 Eleven patients (35%) achieved SVR, whereas 20 (65%) were non-responders. The median ribavirin plasma concentration at W4 (1.90 mg/l) varied from 1.62 mg/l in patients with subsequent non-response to 2.28 mg/l in sustained responders (P=0.007). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that the 2.01 mg/l threshold gave the best sensitivity and specificity (73% and 80%, respectively, area under the curve =0.80; P=0.007).
Avatar m tn BTW , if you are checking out Vit B12 you might as well take a look at your Vit A. VITAMIN A DEFICIENCY NEGATIVELY AFFECTS THE RESPONSE TO ANTIVIRAL TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS C Background and aim: Vitamin A deficiency has been associated with enhanced susceptibility to virtually all types of infections, through a modulating action on innate and adaptive immunity.
Avatar m tn Now there are a few papers that have actually measured, in a reliable well documented HPLC fashion, the achieved RSV concentration in the blood of human subjects after exposure to 250 and 500mg of 99% transResveratrol.
Avatar m tn The concentration of total phenols may also be indicated on the labels of echinacea products. The total phenolic content (determined by HPLC) should be at least 1% for quality whole herb or root products and proportionally higher for extracts and tinctures depending on their concentration. Almost all the clinical studies showing benefit have been conducted with products extracted from the aerial (i.e., stems, leaves, flowers) portions of E.
