Avatar m tn By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. Avatar f tn I was prescribed Tobradex ointment (4x per day) in conjunction with an oral antibiotic to fight an infection from a ruptured sty. After 10 days the opthamologist checked my eye again and told me to continue with the Tobradex (3x per day) until the 3.5g bottle was finished. It's been 4 weeks now and I've decided to stop using the Tobradex, but I notice that my vision is blurred in that eye and I can't focus on objects at long distances.

After 2 days my eyes felt dry but he said it was the heat ( we are having a cold winter in ny)and to keep taking it with refresh drops, which I did for 10 days. Went to a specialist at this point and he said I was allergic to zylet, it took 2 weeks to clear up allergic reaction but I still have dry eye.
Avatar f tn Hello, and thank you in advanced. I'm a 24 years old female. I live in Virginia. My left eye's problems began in 2008. The problem began with watering of my left eye only out of the inner corner. This water wouldn't leak don my cheeks, it would collect on the top of my eyelid. This made just the corner red and irritated. Then the skin started cracking in the corners. I was given Pataday and antibotic ointment to put on these cuts and was told it was allergy related.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my eye with Tobradex ointment, and massaging the ointment into my eyelids. Also, I have not been wearing any eye makeup. I plan on replacing all of my makeup and brushes, to prevent a reinfection. Does this sound like my problem is styes? I am including a photo of my eye. The bump on my upper eyelid appears white, but in reality it is flesh colored.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment USP, 0.5% (sterile) to be applied to the eyes' eyelid margins every night at bedtime. Avatar m tn Two days before,I went to see another ophthalmologist and he said my cornea had been damaged a little bit by virus. He gave me a new ointment called TobraDex. He asked me to come back the next two days for eye check. When the day came and I went to see him again, my left eye vision was little blur and better than last time. He told me to apply for another week.
Avatar f tn Can i treat it w/ triple antibiotic ophthalmic ointment or gentocin ophthalmic ointment at home without seeing a vet, or could these meds cause more problems? It really does not look that bad, just a little abnormal.
Avatar f tn Doctor said everything is the way it should look inside my eye following the surgery and he is not concerned. I am using TobraDex ointment 2x a day. Can you advise why my eye lid is swelling shut?
Avatar n tn Doctor has prescribed Bacitracin Ophthalmic Ointment USP and Systane. He says it is a matter of dry eye. I live in Las Vegas. However, I have faithfully used the ointment for over a week, and I don't see an improvement. I replaced the Systane with another dry-eye drop because the Systane seemed to irritate my eye further. I'm reaching the point of sheer terror, and the appearance of my eye is effecting the work I do.
20904477 tn?1608092461 You need to discuss with whomever prescribed that medication. About 10% of people that use drops or ointment with neomycin develop sensitivity, irritation and/or allergy.
Avatar m tn The day after that, i woke up having yellow discharge from my eye, i visited my doctor and she gave me Gentamicin sulfate ointment 0.3% Ophthalmic. I used it for 10 days up to now, at the beginning, it worked very well, but know, I have the infection back, specially in the mornings when I wake up. what do u guys think that I should do?
1754670 tn?1312378295 It includes softening the lid margins, removal of lid margin debris, applying an ophthalmic antibiotic ointment and avoiding the use of eye makeup. Application of hot compress could further facilitate recovery. This needs to be practiced long term for relief from repeated attacks of allergic symptoms. Besides avoiding the allergen which causes theses symptoms could further prevent attacks. If your symptoms are worsening consult your primary care physician.
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
5254268 tn?1365627185 Some residual blurry vision may be due to corneal swelling. You could try Muro-128 5% sodium chloride ophthalmic ointment at night. This is over-the-counter; you would put a 1/8 to 1/4 inch strip inside the lower lid of the involved eye at bedtime. You may stop the ointment once everything is back to normal.
Avatar m tn I got worried and went to a urgent care and met a general physician, he prescribed me Gentak eye ointment and I used it for 2 days and the eyes got well. Now, again it started from few days the eyes becoming red and feels irritating, and this time I went to a ophthalmologist yesterday and he prescribed TOBRADEX and he said vision and everything is good and it seems to be an infection (conjunctivitis).
Avatar n tn I'm currently coing through the same problem only i didn't have any pain my optimologist gave me a perscription antibiotic and told me to take a warm washcloth cover my eyes for 5 minutes then wash my eye lids out with a warm washcloth and baby magic bath. My eyelids are too sensative for the baby magic bath but the medicine realy helped and the warm washcloth feels real nice.
Avatar n tn Ask your pharmacist if he has generic 5% sodium chloride ophthalmic ointment. Muro or the generic ointment does not raise eye pressure. It is hypertonic saline, designed to pull fluid osmotically from the swollen cornea.
Avatar n tn After the redness persisted, I started using antibiotic ophthalmic eye-ointment; this made the redness stop. My right eye is still nowhere near as open as it was before, however. There also is nowhere near as much irritation or anything of the sort. I'm really worried and don't know what to do; I was hoping someone could tell me some info regarding a similar situation before my ophthamologist appointment.
Avatar n tn 1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient. I am about a week into the treatment and the eczema is clearing up nicely. I was very careful not to get the cream or ointment into my eyes.
