Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn Yes, there are. Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is one and Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) another. Each is a bronchodilator and capable of giving good relief of shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn Hello, I started to recieve irregular heartbeat sign on my Omron M3 BP monitor. First time it showed up two days ago, and last time today after breakfast. Two days ago I took another measurement few minutes later, today I took it right away. Irregular heartbeat sign didn't show up on these following measurements. Is it cause of concern? Should I contact a doctor? I'm 18y/o male.
Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar m tn Can someone explain to me in medical terms the danger/affect there in mixing a muscarinic M3 receptor antagonist that inhibits acetylcholine-induced contraction of smooth muscle, i.e. respiratory, digestive and urinary tract(s). I recently relapsed after 2 years sobriety after having the PROMETA treatment, a neurotransmitter reversal of sorts and have a good grasp of medical terms.

Avatar n tn every thing was negative but for hsv it was done my ELISA immunoflorecenceradiophotometry - sub fraction M3 was 3.66 and all others (M1, M2 ANd M4 to M7u ) were negative. I was assured by my doc that it was an exposure some 15 years ago or so. concerned i kept worrying and afgter 16/ 17 week got the same thing tested again. this time results wre the same but M 3 was 1.16. in 21 week i had chicken pox which has healed.
Avatar f tn Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) has a maximum duration of action of about 36 hours. To be safe, you would want to be off the medicine for 48 to 72 hours before the spirometry. It would have been preferable, but not mandatory to do the pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at the time the diagnosis of chronic lung disease was made especially if the diagnosis was unequivocal. The other important question would be, “Why 3 CT scans, presumably of your lungs, in 16 months?
Avatar m tn Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Spiriva contains tiotropium bromide which is an anticholinergic bronchodilator. So, yes, both have action against acetylcholine recptors and both are efefctive bronchodilators. You can take any one of them. Indacaterol is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist. So, it gives bronchodialation for a much longer time. It is a more recent drug so long term efficacy data are not available. However, available data does show a marked benefit in individuals with COPD.
1456596 tn?1285432454 Hello I had CABG x5 (LIMA-LAD; svg-pda; svg M3-M1-D1) surgery on September 13-th this year. I was released from Hospital yesterday, as my Surgeon told me I am in good health condition. My family Doctor saw the ECG on the day i was released from hospital and noted that there is a negative (or inverted) T Wave on V4 V5 and V6. Can you tell me what does it means, is this ECG normal after CABG surgery? Thank you.

Avatar f tn first off this forum is NOT for discussion on how to get pregnant. if you do ask advice on how to get pregnant the posts will be deleted immediately. now as for is it crazy...yes it is. you're 16. you are MUCH too young to ttc. you're still a kid yourself. your reproductive organs are not fully formed yet. you may have jobs but there is more to think about. who will take care of the baby when you're in school? 2 min.
Avatar f tn Most insurance wont accept you unless you tried applying for Medicaid first and was denied by them, and becaus3 you are pregnant you are approved fast and get your card fast. Speaking from experience I tried different insurance but they all told m3 to try medicaid first if I was denied then I was told to go back to them.

Avatar m tn Found barely trace amts of mold in basement (both air and surface), but found small amounts of aspergillus/pencillium in bedroom (264/m3). Surprising b/c my HEPA air purifier had been running in that room up until about an hour before they got there (it ran all night). This bedroom has bathroom & last spring, we removed the top of the shower bench and found the inside was covered in slimy black/brown mold. The materials inside the bench were cleaned (not removed) and the bench recovered.
779627 tn?1235845890 One such toxin is mono-methyl hydrazine, a component used in rocket fuel that is highly convulsive. OSHA shows an acceptible tolerance level of .35 mg per m3. This toxin causes seizures (experienced by the last teacher who used the same room for three years), pneumonitis, and actually impacts genetic components affecting T cells. Exposure can result in death when the exposure is acute.
