Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn What are the LAST STAGES of COPD?
Avatar n tn Its toxicity depends on the route of administration, duration, exposure and dosage. The route of administration is the most important determinant of toxicity. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Would this route of administration work similar to faster acting benzodiazepines such as Xanax or Ativan, or does it depend solely on having a steady amount of Klonopin in your bloodstream already? I'm confused; why would a doctor prescribe Klonopin for anxiety attacks (i.e., take it as needed)?
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar f tn Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) has a maximum duration of action of about 36 hours. To be safe, you would want to be off the medicine for 48 to 72 hours before the spirometry. It would have been preferable, but not mandatory to do the pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at the time the diagnosis of chronic lung disease was made especially if the diagnosis was unequivocal. The other important question would be, “Why 3 CT scans, presumably of your lungs, in 16 months?
Avatar m tn 6 How would you interpret the results? What do you think the cause of my COPD is? Long term prognosis? Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Spiriva contains tiotropium bromide which is an anticholinergic bronchodilator. So, yes, both have action against acetylcholine recptors and both are efefctive bronchodilators. You can take any one of them. Indacaterol is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist. So, it gives bronchodialation for a much longer time. It is a more recent drug so long term efficacy data are not available. However, available data does show a marked benefit in individuals with COPD.
Avatar f tn There is no benefit to taking this sublingually that I know of. Generally the reason you take anything that way is to get it into your system as quickly as possible or because saliva is beneficial to absorption. With 5-HTP, it takes some time for your system to react to it assuming your body finds it necessary to have more coming in -- if it doesn't, it just evacuates it. The same thing is true when you take medication targeted at serotonin, though they work quit differently.
Avatar m tn The first posting talks about an upcoming phase2b/3 clinical trial in Asia. Yet StudyForhope posted results of a phase3 trial. Not sure how it works, but a drug company will conduct multiple trials of the same phase before progressing to the next stage?
649848 tn?1534633700 06 PM ET, Thu July 4, 2019 (CNN) Even by the chaotic standards of the Trump administration, the battle of whether to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census has become bizarre. The Supreme Court last Thursday temporarily barred the addition of the controversial question. In response, the President tweeted that he asked government lawyers if they can delay the census "no matter how long.
Avatar m tn Those generics are usually cheaper but they must contain the same active ingredient(s), the same dosage form, at the same dose or concentration, and for the same route of administration. The generics are usually cheaper and can use different inactive ingredients and preservatives which can sometimes cause trouble. Looks like you are getting the generic for from the Israel generic of Effexor. It must be the cheaper generic of Effexor around and maybe it is responsible for your problems.
Avatar n tn probably not medication related. give her lots of attention and positive upbeat games. 'train' her out of this winney habit and encourage her to be a dog again. if it continues, feel her all over and make sure she does not have any areas of pain that would need attention.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has successfully filed for disability because of Chiari? I am not able to do my previous job and am exploring all options!
Avatar f tn s actually an approved route of administration that allows for a slightly quicker onset of action versus orally (especially good in the even of a panic attack or something like that). Unless the dose of Ativan was a bit stronger, you likely will find that overall the Xanax works better. They're both benzos and both share tolerance and dependency (when taken regularly), so I guess I just don't understand the switch, especially if the Xanax was working for you.
535991 tn?1287158942 wherever it was that you read any of that above about iron is definitely a place to steer clear of. Also, it is recommended to take thyroid medication swallowed with a full glass of water. Good luck.
177275 tn?1511755244 Blindness Risk From Compounded Vancomycin Eye Injections October 03, 2017 The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a compounding risk warning against intraocular injections of vancomycin either alone or in combination with other drugs, in light of a new case of hemorrhagic occlusive retinal vasculitis (HORV), a rare event that can cause blindness.
Avatar m tn Yes, Ibogaine is illegal in the US, but it does help a lot of people. We only know half of why it works and the FDA has approved funding, but not the administration of it. Basically it interrupts the receptors that cause addiction, but only the physical. You have to choose to stay clean afterwords. I have read many testimonies of this working, but the down side is that it is extremely hard on your kidneys, liver, and heart. Even one dose.
Avatar f tn What I have given you is based on both dose, route of administration, and whether or not the drugs are sustained-release or shorter acting drugs. I know I have something on my bookshelf that gives an exact or near exact milliequivalency of these drugs, but I'm pretty sure I'm this it's pretty much right on with what I've said thus far. Will get back with you tomorrow.
Avatar m tn We went there, she had her second shot of verorab on the left arm and four vials of favirab was injected into both of her thighs (the total amount was equally divided). Now onto my question. I tried searching for this in a lot of forums and discussions already, including calling different hospitals and they tell me the same thing. What they usually do is to administer favirab on the wound itself and if the whole amount does not fit in the wound the remaining would be injected in the thighs.
Avatar m tn It can be difficult to get the dose correct when changing from one opiate to another, particularly when changing route of administration as well. Docs usually 'shoot low' in the conversion, as getting some withdrawal is better than getting fatal respiratory depression-- something that really does occur, particularly when dealing with high doses of these medications.
