Avatar f tn Hi I was on Tiazac for about 6 ot 7 days and i skipped a few days of it,i have been feeling extremely dizzy and i saw my heart dr yesterday and he told me to stop the tiazac and he is puttting me on Coreg 6.
Avatar m tn I was on tiazac 360mg for a couple of years for high blood pressure.I started having palpitations, skipped beats. The longer I was on it the worse it got. It finally got to where I was having some beats so strong and violent.I told my cardiologist and asked to change medication or a lower dose.He told me to go back to my family doctor who prescribed it originally. As it was 6 weeks to see him, I decided to stop the tiazac. After a few days the symptoms went away.
Avatar n tn I am on another brand/generic calcium channel blocker - Diz..don't recall, but I can check. I take what I think is the maximum does and had some of the symptoms you mention, but none real bad and my body has adjusted. Swelling of ankles was the the side-effect I most noticed, as did my wife. But it was not noticeable when dressed (a man) and I didn't have trouble putting on my shoes. I discussed with my cardiologist and he recommended I give it more time.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist thinks my problem is because my diastolic BP increases with exercise. So, he put me on Tiazac 240 mg OD. The first few days, it made me more short of breath to the point that I couldn't walk across the room without stopping. And my cough got worse. It is a little better now(2 weeks later) but still worse than prior to starting the drug. My BP runs around 120/97 so it obviously is not enough. My BP was lower before taking this medication. Does this sound normal?
Avatar f tn I took tiazac about 7 days and have not had any since last wed would any of it still be in my system
Avatar f tn My medication tiazac makes me feel sooooooooo dizzy im wondering if i coujld stop taling it,I have missed the last two days i know it stays in the body for several days, but wondering if i might have ill effects from stopping it i see my dr tommorow,i take it for heartrate,,has anyone stopped it before i think dr will need to find me another med
Avatar m tn i have been on monopril for many years for high BP- and was OK to take the hep c Tx. however while on Tx my BP rose again, and they added tiazac as well. BP is now maintaining well, and 42 weeks into 48 everyy things looks as if it is working well.
Avatar m tn I am fairly convinced these are esophageal spasms wonder why we haven’t tried Muscle-relaxing drugs including nitrate medications, such as isosorbide (Isordil), nifedipine (Procardia), diltiazem (Cardizem, Tiazac, others) or dicyclomine (Bentyl). I also wonder about Hyoscyamine Sulfate and what about this Heller Myotomy surgery (I’m desperate). In December 2012, I had an EGD done and was told it looks excellent, no ill effects of the acid reflux disease and esophagus looks good.
Avatar f tn t take this anymore. I have heart palpitations because of the reflux and I am taking Tiazac xc to help control them but it doesn't work that well. I have been sleeping sitting up on my couch for at least a year. I don't feel like I have been receiving good care from my doctors that's why I haven't been back. Everytime I go see the doctor it is a total waste of time and nobody seems to be able to help me. I have small children to care for and I'm always sick.
Avatar f tn Depakote ER, Remeron, antipsychotic for short time, Hydrochlorothiazide, Atenenol, Trileptal, Luvox, Synthroid, Tiazac, Lipiter, insulin and some others. I have struggled most of this time with uncontrolable diarreahea. Eventually I started taking Imodium AD which helped to some extent. After a colonoscopy and tests for anything that shouldn't exist in the colon, ie: parasites etc.
Avatar m tn Berntd, is the medication you are taking Tiazac? If you check the side-effects of the medication, constipation in some is mentioned. You may want to check back with your doc.
Avatar n tn Rymthol 325 mg and Tiazac 180 mg. I converted from this episode shortly after arriving home. Had one more episode the following day lasting for about 1/2 hr. Diagnosis after episodes and all the testing was a-fib in an otherwise health heart Since that time, I have had only one episode -- recently for about 15 minutes. I just went into see my cardiologist for my annual EKG and check-up. He wants to do a Nuclear stress test.

Avatar n tn So in addition to my regular daily meds (Tiazac and Acebutolol), I take an Ativan as soon as a bad SVT starts. Just being able to do something -- even just taking a pill -- to try and make the event better seems to help a lot. I do the vagal maneuvres also, which help some of the time.

Avatar f tn ECG, 24hr Holter, MIBI and Echo, during MIBI it was determined though that I do have excercise induced LBBB. Was put on BP meds 180mg once a day Tiazac, had helped a bit, chest pressure is less, heart rate has diminished at times - but not consistant. Blood work all fine except verry low ferritin, I've been taking 900mg iron daily. I was also tested for pheocromocytoma (tumor in adrenal glands) will get results tomorrow.
Avatar m tn Hi, my question is regarding an intrathecal drug pump and drug testing. The short story is that I've had 21 back surgeries, and after being on many (just about most) pain meds, my doctor finally put in a drug pump with dilaudid. As most probably know, this pump is installed in the abdomen with a catheter that runs to my back and is inserted into the intrathecal space of the spine (where the spinal fluid is). So the medication does not go into my blood stream or cross the blood brain barrier.
Avatar f tn t had the need to take amy of those, but when the pressure develops I wait a little and if it does not go away, I take the nitro which so far has worked. The Tiazac (Diltiazem), whic I takew in the morning also helps. From what I kno there is no known cure but it seems the treatment allows a somewhat annoying but reasonable life. Unfotunately or perhaps fortunately, because not many people die from this condition, research ot it is somewhat limited. Thank you for your note.
Avatar f tn I just keep seeing posts that say they drug test mothers and babies at birth. I never saw any paperwork or lab results with my first nor was it ever mentioned. Is this a secret thing they do or random maybe? I would think you would have to sign some kinda papers? I mean i dont care if they test me and baby or not...we're clean...but i just never really even thought about it. I would think if they suspected the baby having withdraws in the first 24hrs.
