All I can tell you is to please, please be very careful about letting it go very much longer without another opinion. One of my sons developed a severe case of strep after a having an episode much like you are describing. It started out as an ear infection according to the doctor, though he did say it could be strep, but the strep titer was negative at the time. He was put on antibiotic but continued to worsen. He became very weak, dark circles under his eyes.
As per my previous post I had a throat infection and couple of skin infections for which my doc prescribed week course of erythromycin, seemed to clear the throat but then within days it was back 10 times worse accompanied by singular swollen pea sized node under left armpit and neck felt glandy, doctor has put me on another week course of erythromycin, 2 days in my throat still hurts like hell and myblegs fell like ive ran a marathon, also keep getting pains in armpits and left breast area (s
So last Monday I found out I had a throat inflection , as days started to pass I've noticed my gums somewhat red and really hard for me to chew because of the pain. About Saturday morning my throat started to feel fine but my gums are still in pain. They're red, swollen, and whitish canker sores on them , any idea on what it can be or what's going on?
Went to the county STD clinic and told them of my sore throat. It on only on the right side and feels like it is more under my tongue. Asked if I could get swabbed for gonorrhea. She said it doesn't look like it and swabbed me for strepp. I got and HIV and std test have to wait 10 days for results. Now I made an appointment with an ENT but have to wait til the 9th. I think the medical profession is getting really dumbed down.
Now I have to sweat this for 10 days.
When performing oral sex on my girlfriend I seem to quickly develop a sore throat, which lasts for a few days to a week. Within hours I get sinus blocking then lots of green goobers from my throat the next day and if unlucky cold like symptoms for a day or three before it clears up, I jut take throat sweets and flu remedies. Having been together for many months I choose to avoid giving oral pleasure.
If positive then chances are this could be an inital infection but really most oral inital infection has blisters on the gums and is extrmely painful that way.
If there was no culture done then if his tests are negative repeat his blood test using again a type specific IgG test in 12 weeks. This should give you an answer.

I was sick with a sore throat and green phlegmn (probably sinus) and was put on augmentin antibiotics. 24 hours before my antibiotic course was over, I noticed irritation and itching next to my clitoral area, in lips of labia. It developed into a swollen lump then developed a head; drained and is shrinking. Now, 72 hours after my antibiotic, I have white patches on my throat. I notice irritation down there in a new spot with itching and redness. I expect a lump to form.

Hi, around 4 days ago I got sore throat following by a few mouth ucler (2 on the tongue). Then after 2 days (yesterday morning) my upper lip went a bit numb and really dry. Today the numbness is gone but still extremely dry no matter what I do. So in the afternoon I went to the doctor, and he told me I have an infection, didn't say anything else and prescribe me with "Azithromycin Monohydrate Tables". The problem is now my left eyes is completely red and a bit itchy.

Your symptoms strongly suggest an initial throat infection (pharyngitis) of some sort, and your doctor agreed, otherwise he would not have prescribed penicillin. As you probably realize, the symptoms and signs of pharyngitis are pretty much the same regardless of the cause -- and there are many, many causes. Allergy alone is one of them, although allergy usually would not cause the severe symptoms and enlarged lymph nodes ("glands") you had at the outset.
That is the same drug as a Z-pak, which is always given as six pills (two the first day).
Just because his bacteria is resistant to methacillin doesn't mean it can't be cured by a Z-Pak. I think his doctor is handling it fine, but be aware this drug continues to treat for a long while after it is started, so I don't know when he will stop being contagious is my only question. They say it is a long half-life.

5. i am planning to take a test after three months from possible exposure (for my peace of mind)...which test should i take? Combo, ELISA, PCR, etc...
My 8 year old daughter has a reoccuring throat infection that requires antibiotics. She took 7 or 8 rounds of it last year and again this year seems to be getting it again. I do not want her to build up antibodies or become allergic to it. I know antibiotics are good here and there, but too much isn't good for you and if I can find a way to help her avoid her throat infections, I'd like to eliminate the need for antibiotics.
I have a sore throat and I believe an ear infection.. I haven't seen a doctor but what can I take before my sickness gets worse without harming baby?
