What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.

my doctor perscribed me to terbinafine orals at 250mg once a day for 2 weeks. I have read that this does not work on versicolor is this true?
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
I have changed soaps from a moistorizing body wash to Lever2000 and began taking showers in the morning and at night. I used Lamisil AT Antifungal, Terbinafine Hydrochloride 1% Spray Pump for 7 days while waiting for 1% hydrocortisone cream and 1% Clotrimazole Lamisil cream to be delivered. I saw no change with the Terbinafine Hydrochloride.
Treatment consists of topical antifungal cream which may contain miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine,ketaconazole and clotrimazole. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. Restrict wearing any undergarments at night and as far as possible keep the area dry.
If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
i've had an itchy groin and butt for about 8 months. no rash, very little redness if any, no skin breaks, nothing. just itchy. it doesn't itch all the time, just a few times a day and it usually wakes me up at night which is very annoying. i've consulted my doctor several times on this and he has tried several prescriptions: lamisil, flucanozole (i believe) and now vytone (iodoquinol/hydrocortizone). i've also tried lotrimin ultra which is butenafine.

I am not overweight and try to keep the area dry. I have used various creams and powders. Lamisil knocks it down but it never completly goes away. If I stop the daily Lamisil it flars right back. What are your thoughts on what else I can do.

I have been diagnose with a skin fungus infection (dermamytocosis) and the dermatologist has prescribed Lamisil (terbinafine hydrochloride) very strong tablets with quite a few side effects. I would like to try natural alternatives like apple cider vinegar but could the infection spread out or perhaps can resolved by itself over time.
Will I be prone to get fungus infections in the future?

The spots are a pinkish color and they have a different texture than my skin. They almost feel softer than my skin. They are not raised at all and they are slightly itchy but not all the time. I am baffled as to how to make them go away and they just slowly keep getting bigger. I don't know if they could be from wearing a sports bra every day or what???? Help!!!!!

LJ, the best thing to do to find what would help the most from OTC med, is to ask the pharmacist. They know by the ingredients.
He uses Lamisil spray on his and it seems to stop the itching but not the spreading. What should we do? He has also had a kidney-pancreas transplant over 6 years ago and is on numerous medications. Could his meds be causing this rash? I would just like to get a hold of it before it goes crazy. Any advice would be very appreciated.
