Could this density and calcification be masked by the scar tissue or could this scar tissue cause the reading to show the density and calcification. Is this finding common? Is there anyone else that has experienced these findings? I'm suppose to have a spot compression and maybe an ultrasound done, but I've been too nervous to make the appointment. I am going to go though. Should I be concerned at this point?

I recently had a mammogram and the report read: density measuring 20 millimeters with indistinct margins in posterior central region of left breast. Fine linear-branching calcifications with clustered distribution seen in left breast at 2 o'clock. Spot compression recommended. Ultrasound may be needed.
DI-RADS Category 0: Incomplete: Need additional imaging evaluation
What does this all mean and should I be concerned. I do plan to go next week for additional viewing.
This is why they always use CT for Radiotherapy planning or surgical positioning. MRI is very sensitive to change in proton distribution in dipole molecules like water. It really is poor at imaging high density items like bone and hard tumors. Many hard tumors are seen on MRI, not from the tumor, but from the "mass effect" as it displaces the softer tissue around the tumor.
The distribution of breast cancer is related to the tissue volume of the breast. The breast tissue volume is slightly greater in the left breast than the right, which may account for a slight predominance of cancer in the left breast. The left breast may have as much as 2-3% more tissue volume than the right but not always. Some studies have shown the frequency of breast cancer higher in the right breast.

Soft tissue attenuation simply means that the images were most likely poor due to an excess amount of soft tissue such as body fat or breast tissue blocking the view of the heart. Additionally, this is backed up by the findings of normal wall motion, muscle that is damaged by a previous MI does not contract the same as the t=rest of the heart.
The important thing to know is your EF%, does the report show yours? Normal is between 55 - 75%. Also, why did you have the test?

I had a mammogram a couple of weeks ago and am having to go back in for an ultrasound on my left breast. The report reads there are calcifications with grouped distribution in the left breast inner hemisphere at 9 to 10 o'clock located 6 centimeters from the nipple. As I am reading information in the internet (which I know I shouldn't be doing) I am trying to determine if this is normally maligant or benign?

I would like to mention that I had recently had chest pain and was put on beta blockers which gave me bad side effects including worsening chest pain and low heart rate and tingling in hands and feet, it has since been reduced but still have symptoms.

There is ill defined soft tissue lesion in the left upper lung at about 11-12mm in size(how big or small is that?) There also appears to be abnormal soft tissue extending into the left suprahilar area and AP window which is very ill defined and apprears quite infiltrative. The right hilum and remainder of the mediastinum apprears within normal limits. There does, however, apprear to be several small nodules in the superior mediastinum about a 1cm in size but rather numerous.
There is a very small sized mild ischemia in the inferoapical wall in the usual distribution of the distal Posterior Descending Artery. This defect comprises 5 % of the left ventricular myocardium.

MOST of the time, the excess estrogen is produced in excess adipose tissue. Usually estrogen is converted into testosterone, but in some cases, this fails to happen. This is the type of case in which something like Aromasin might help.
I would certainly proceed with caution and under the supervision of an endocrinologist if I were going to recommend anything like that to a patient,

Anterior mediastinal preaortic nodes measure up to 9 x 5 mm. The etiology is not evident. A 1.5 x 1 centimeter ill-defined focus of soft tissue opacity in the anterior mediastinal fat suggests residual thymic tissue or lymph node.
Pleura: No pleural effusions.
Abdomen: No abnormality is evident in the visualized liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands and left kidney. The left
hepatic lobe is elongated, extending across the midline into the left subdiaphragmatic region.
