The Incivek prescribing informations lists clarithromycin, erythromycin and telithromycin as antibacterials that can cause drug interaction. "Concentrations of both telaprevir and the antibacterial may be increased during co-administration. Caution is warranted and clinical monitoring is recommended when co-administered with telaprevir. QT interval prolongation and Torsade de Pointes have been reported with clarithromycin and erythromycin.

Below is copied from Dr Burrascano's treatment guidelines for Lyme (posted on the ILADS website), including an entry on doxycycline [aka doxy] dosage: "Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.

Hi and so sorry you have all these problems. If you haven't had these things done, have you been vaccinated with the BCG TB vaccine? If not I would get a quantiferon gold TB skin test. That would tell you if you were exposed to TB if so then you need a sputum culture for TB. You have several symptoms of TB. The fever, granuloma, and bloody sputum. The knee pain and neck swelling may be something else.

Did any bands on your lyme test come back +. You may not be CDC positive but still have lyme. I have tri. neuralgia that comes and goes. I've had it before I got lyme and co's. It's extremely painful:( The fever could be a co infection. I'm not sure of the other symptoms, maybe ask a lyme literate doctor to test you through Igenix. Good luck and welcome to the sight!

No one here is medically trained that I know of, but we're glad to share our collected thoughts and experiences. Short answer: Yes, it is possible to have Lyme after doxy treatment.

i then experienced tingling in my hands and electric shocks in my arms while doing push ups. i went to my family dr who sent me to have lab work done for lyme disease and the test came back equivocal they gave me doxy and i got sick so quit taking after a day. the pain went away for several months and came back in sept of 09 and i went to the er where they gave me another lyme test.. this one tested positive 1.14.. i was given a month of doxy and took all of it..

Have Lyme disease and had Spinal... Test for Lyme 3 times positve and Spinal Fluid " pure" as my ID doc Stated. I spent 5 days on IV treatment... So if Spinal was "pure".... Why continue?

t know that 41 is positive in everyone, but 39 is (from what I read) specific to Lyme, meaning only the presence of Lyme will give a positive on that band. And note that not all home diagnostic kits are created the same ... so I would see a Lyme specialist without delay. Let us know what you find out, okay? When it comes to Lyme, sooner is better.
