For the last two and a half years I have been on Ketek ( twice a day ) , ceftin ( twice a day), diflucan( once a day), plaquenil(twice a day) and pantoloc. I also take ton of acidophilus. I wennt off all of them the first of July this summer. I am quite a bit better but still suffer from extreme fatigue,and muscle twitching.
I am wondering if you think I should try some other antibiotics?
Below is copied from Dr Burrascano's treatment guidelines for Lyme (posted on the ILADS website), including an entry on doxycycline [aka doxy] dosage:
"Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.

I kind of knew that it doesn't matter how I get the 400mg as long as I get the dosage of 400mg it is fine.
However, My question was more about the splitting of the 800mg tablet.
I was informed by a pharmacist that if a medication tablet does not have a designed split in it, the dosage may possibly not be equally distributed in the tablet therefore when you split it you might not get equal dosage.
My acyclovir says to take 400mg a day for suppressive and 400mg 2xday for 7days for ob. But she let's me change my script to suit me. Should I up the dosage to 2400mg for 2days for ob & 800 a day for suppressive?????
doctor was concerned about my progesterone p4 level and prescribed cyclogest 400mg vaginal suppositories 3 times a day. my progesterone level now as of 6th august is >40 ng/ml (as my lab writes, they did not mention how much greater than 40), my labs normal range for first trimester is 9.3 to 33.2. I just wanted to know if this hight progesterone level is ok or an indication of something wrong?
also, please let me know if I should keep taking cyclogest 400mg 3 times a day?
Since then I have had it relapse at least 15 times.. I finally started taking supressive therapy (aciclovir 400mg x 2 a day) a few weeks ago and today it came back AGAIN! In the same spot as usual but I just don't understand why it is back again! Any ideas?
But, the PVCs kept coming. So, yesterday, he switched me to 400mg of Metropolol Succinate ER a day and referred me to a guy that specializes in electrical problems of the heart. He said this was due to the possibility of doing an ablation on me. I have to say that the PVCs do cause me great distress but the thought of ablating my heart does not excite me. I am also not sure if I should continue with beta blockers either.
s safe to take my second dose which is my nighttime dose in the next hour or so. My Luvox doses are 400mg each. 400mg in day, 400mg at night.
I took my first dose at 4:00PM which is really late (It needs to be before 10AM to work the best) and I would be taking my second dose in the next hour or so which would only be 5 hours apart.
i was prescribed asacol 2x 400mg, 3 times a day for two weeks. after this time i was also diagnosed with CKD at stage 3a with a GFR of 53 and a creatinine clearance of 87.14ml/min.
i took asacol again for one month at a reduced rate of 1x 400mg, 3 times a day (3-4 tablets recommended for prevention of relapse).
then i stopped taking it for 2 months.
i took asacol again at 1x400mg, 2 times a day for 2 months.
I'm on my 3rd day now, it hasnt cracked open and seems to be helping. I'm still doing the 400mg 3 times a day, should i double the pills up and take two 400mg every 8 hours instead?
The dose they are giving you is the shingles dose. Ask if you can try the 400mg 3x/day for 5 day dose instead if this is a recurrence of hsv1. Are you also on suppressive therapy - 400mg 2x/day everyday in between or are you just interested in starting that to avoid this from reoccuring so often?
Its a relentless punnishment and i i think i probably infected my new partner. I am on the second day of lesions and just started the creme and 400mg acyclovir tabs. - Will the lesions heal quicker even though i started now? 2 - Why am i the anti-statistic in that after 12 years the frequency and fierceness is increasing?
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 three years ago, have had so many medications and 10 treatments of ECT nothing works. I have just been put onto Epilem 400mg in morning and 400mg at night, together with 100mg sr Serequel am and 150mg Serequel pm and a small antidepressant. I was thinking of asking my Dr to try Dexies, has anyone had Dexies for Bi Polar, and has it worked for you?
t have Std testing center here in our place except for hiv test which i get negative result. I just finished taking ofloxacin 400mg 3x a day for 7 days. But my semen still looks green and very sticky gelly. Will it took a week before it turns white? Or should i take cefixime 400mg plus 1g azithromycin already?
Thanks for the advice. I am currently on 400mg of aciclovir daily. Can I up this dose or is that my max if I decide I'm brave enough to go ahead with the deed?
I was diagnosed with genital HSV2 this past July via a culture sample. Ever since, I have experienced lots of lymph node pain in my groin area as well as pain down my inner thigh. The pain isn't bad, just more annoying. Is this normal? I have had a CBT done and everything was fine. I have had 3 HIV tests, all negative. I went to the Dr. who wasn't much help, but prescribed me 400mg acyclovir/daily for suppression.
