Avatar m tn I am feeling a bit uncomfortable in and around penis, testicles and around. I did some urine and STI tests and all came clear. I did a semen culture and it came positive for pseudomonas aeruginosa. Is pseudomonas aeruginosa serious in semen and does it impacts fertility if left untreated? Please suggest what is the right treatment for it when it is present in semen. Thank you!
Avatar f tn My daughter had pseudomonas several months ago and had to have her ear swabbed and cultured. The pseudomonas was resistant to all the drug classses but the newest cyclosporin. She has had chronic ear infections since she was a baby (she's 13).

"Concentrations of both telaprevir and the antibacterial may be increased during co-administration. Caution is warranted and clinical monitoring is recommended when co-administered with telaprevir. Avatar n tn t happen all of the time I guess it wakes me up. I have chronic pseudomonas bronchiectasis, and a disk in my lower back and one in the middle of my back that both need to have surgery. I haven't been ready to address this with a doctor, I am wondering if they could be causing this, but I doubt it.
Avatar m tn My 7y girl has had uti for three years and has several types of antibiotics last one was amoxicillin/clavulanic acid,57mg. She now has Pseudomonas and doctor wants to give her cipro. think I should handle this differantly?
Avatar f tn I dont know what to do anymore, i feel desperate and frustrated and need some help and soon because my doctor doesnt seem to be worried, if id never gone for a second opinion they would have never discovered the bacteria he kept telling me i was ok, but the terrible headaches said otherwise. And now my third surgery has to be done by him because no other doctor will touch me. This discussion is related to pseudomonas and chronic sinus.

Avatar f tn My dad is 81 and has chronic pseudomonas infection in his lungs. He also has COPD. This is his 4th round of getting this infection in 3 years. He just got out of the hospital from a 5 day stay 3 weeks ago and did a 10 day pick line antibiotic. His Dr called today and he still has the infection. They are calling it a 4+ pseudomonas infection. (whatever that means). He has done every antibiotic there is (pill form, nebulizer, inhalers and pick line) for this and nothing is working anymore.

Avatar n tn I have been a patient at your facility in January, 2009, but no treatment was given to get rid of my pseudomonas. I really want this to be cured and know there has to be a way to cure it, even if it is a clinical trial. I am a 56 year old female. I am currently doing as much research as I can to find a cure for this, even if it means being treated outside of the U.S. because they may not be treating it here yet. Please advise if you have any treatments known and/or available.
Avatar f tn I started having issues with my ears in aug. 2013, started with them just feeling "full", then it turned into me having retracted ear drums... I went to see an ENT (after MANY) attempts to have my normal Dr. Figure out what was going on, and many courses of antibiotics. ENT did hearing test, looked in my ears, confirmed ear drums were retracted, and I got more antibiotics... This went on for 7 mths....
Avatar f tn I take care of a quad male that has a trach in place. His sputum had tested positive for MRSA, pseudomonas, and trichomonas. I had no idea you could get and std in your sputum and i'm even more curious to find out how that happened. Is that really a possibility and how could he have gotten it in his sputum?
Avatar m tn 2) Could bulbar urethritis and the stricture been infective from NGU (pseudomonas? and could that have caused the stricture of vice versa? 3) Dangerous to sleep with wife?
Avatar m tn I got fed up with him and left him after he disclosed all my personal info to my dad. I found a new doc and I asked her if it was possible and she said yes and as a matter of fact she wanted to find out what it was.
Avatar m tn Welcome -- I don't know about Pseudomonas, andn as mojo says, that's something your doc will have to speak to, and I would put in a call and tell the person on the phone what's going on so they can advise you sooner rather than later. The nice dark, moist sinuses are definitely areas where fungal or bacterial infections can hide and multiply, and the sooner you get it sorted out the better.
Avatar f tn Is there anything else that I can do in treating the pseudomonas. I wake up every morning full of congestion in my chest and cough for about 2 hrs in the morning and then through out the day. It is a productive cough. 1347273 tn?1317627138 I suffer quite a lot from sinus infections due to pseudomonas. I can not take quinolones antibiotics due to being sensitive so suffer all the time. My question is at the moment I have quite a constant stream of fluid coming down my nose and I have to wipe away a lot. A couple of times I have not been able to wipe my nose quickly enough and goes to the mouth. This fluid is quite salty.
Avatar m tn Results from stool bacteriological examination shows stingy growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The lady from Labolatory told me that it is not bad, and she suggest to use probiotics only. I have C-reactive protein is under 1.0 mg/L, WBC are in range. I have not fever. Should I stay with probiotics suplementatnion only or ask doctor for antibiotic? (He can give me prescription but I am not sure if it is really necessary).
Avatar f tn I’m a male, am 19 years old, and have had recurrent parotid pain along with fever after being treated for a deep tissue streptococcus and pseudomonas infection on IV vancomycin. I was recently tested to see if the bacterial infection was gone and my results were negative. Unfortunately, according to my ENT, my parotid gland is full of air and acutely swollen in the area where my pain had been during the infection.
Avatar f tn I had a sinus infection at the time, and I still have it. In April of 2013, it went into Pseudomonas and MRSA. Oral antibiotics got rid of the pseudomonas, but now I'm on IV antibiotic therapy 2 grams of Vancomycin infused every 12 hours. Of the 23 antigens they tested my blood for I had one that showed up a little bit. They gave me an pneumonia shot to hopefully stimulate some immunities, but the doc doesn't think it will work.
Avatar m tn It has yet to spread between the 2nd-3rd toe. Sometimes it will be dry and flaky and other times it will be very blotchy red and ooze a yellowish clear fluid, that the doctor said was no big deal and that it was serum which is acting as a protectant. The bottoms of my toes seem to be getting better and the infection on the top of my foot doesn't appear to be spreading much anymore, but it is not getting any better.
Avatar f tn t do appropriate drug testing prior to FDA review and approval, and it turned out that Ketek can have sudden and very bad effects on liver function...'very bad' as in, liver failure and death...on a few taking it. A little nervous here, looking for any patients'-view-data on the drug. Thanks, everyone.
