Tekturna with beta blockers

Common Questions and Answers about Tekturna with beta blockers

tekturna

Avatar n tn wheezing, coughing, tightness in the chest, all the standard asthma symptoms. My cardiologist changed me to a channel blocker (beta blockers are KNOWN to affect the bronchial tubes negatively) and I've had no problems since. I'm on Cartial XP. Good Luck to you!
Avatar f tn Myocardial bridge over LADS could account for the chest pain, due to diminished blood supply in systole. Therapy is usually with beta blockers. If refractory to medications then surgical options are intracoronary stents, surgical myotomy or bypass surgery. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had movement/flashes in their side vision while taking medication to lower their tachycardia and blood pressure? Do beta blockers and calcium channel blockers have side effects relating to the eyes? Thanks.
Avatar m tn You should become less aware of your heart beating while you are on beta blockers. Sometimes beta blockers can reduce the frequency and numbers of PVC's but usually do not get rid of them completely. Someone that is plagued by PVC's a beta blocker is a good safe choice. Beta blockers are great for the heart, and have some anti anxiety properties that are good for heart patients.
Avatar m tn what is best beta blocker for running and racing with psvt? my doctor put me on metoprolol......I know very little about this but am hearing a lot of athletes are on atenolol anybody know anything about this or is this just individual thing?
Avatar f tn My feeling is and has been from the start that the Beta-Blockers are a real help with the stresses he has to face every day but I feel very unhappy about the Antiarrhytmica.
Avatar n tn I have an extreme fear of speaking in public and I have to do it very soon. I've heard about beta-blockers but was wondering if anyone has tried them and what you think. I heard you could pass out from them because your heart slows down so much. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Further studies would be required to show that stroke is adequately reduced by these newer beta-blockers. In conclusion, beta-blockers should not be the first drugs of choice in the management of uncomplicated hypertension. They may be used in addition to other antihypertensive agents to achieve blood pressure goals. However, in patients with angina pectoris, a previous myocardial infarction, heart failure and certain dysrhythmias, beta-blockers still play an important role.
Avatar f tn m sharing this with you because it sounds like you are almost where I was at the beginning. I hope you find a beta blocker that can get your symptoms under control.
4845170 tn?1369102292 Do any of you ladies have experience with Beta Blockers? Do you know of any risks that are involved during the 3rd trimester?
Avatar f tn I took beta blockers to prevent migraines. I did not like the effect on my mood. It seemed to remove the high points in my emotional life. My mood was flat. I am currently taking Verapamil SR 360mg and my migraine have been cut from 4 times a week to 1. My doctor says that I may be on Verapamil for ~1 year. If the migraines continue to be controlled he will try to reduce the Verapamil.
Avatar n tn Atenolol is a beta blocker, but its half-life is far longer than what is the case with metoprolol (6-9 hours vs 3-4 hours). So extended release is not quite as necessary. Some beta blockers are able to cross the blood-brain barrier and some are not. Propranolol and metoprolol are fairly able to do so, but Atenolol is, as far as I know, not. Which means, propranolol and metoprolol can provide more cognitive side effects (forgetfullness, confusion, mood disturbances, etc.) than Atenolol.
519035 tn?1348275773 Have any of you been on beta blockers for your hashi symptoms if so which ones, also, I have been having frequent attacks, but is it anxiety, or blood pressure actually raising from these attacks? Chest tightness and hearing loud racing pulse in ear. It feels like anxiety?????
Avatar n tn This is something you need to really discuss with the Doctor who put you on beta blockers in the first place. You must have been put on them for a reason and you give no indication what that reason was. Even if you have no angina symptoms now, there is always a possibility that you will if that particular medication is stopped because as you know, they stop your heart from working as hard as usual.
554422 tn?1220575366 Unfortunatly its done nothing for my nsvt or pvcs but Ive been told on here that beta blockers dont normally have an effect for them anyway....Does anyone else feel breathless for no reason?I will hopefully have insurance soon so I will be able to get my echo...I am worried somethings changed structurally in my heart...I know I sound like im overreacting but I know my body and somethings deff different.I had a structurally normal heart and have been diagnosed with idiopathic VT.
Avatar f tn I really need to figure out what is causing it.I keep going back to these beta blockers thinking it must be these....I never had mood swings b4 not even when I was pregnant.
Avatar n tn My primary care physician was going to prescribe me with beta-blockers, but when I came into her office my heart rate was low at 38. She referred me to a cardiologist because she didn't want to prescribe beta blockers with such a low heart rate. Up to the time of my cardiology appointment, I periodically checked my pulse and it has been consistently low. It did not show these lows on the 24 hour moniter. When I went to the cardiologist my heart rate was 36.
Avatar n tn At what point does the cardiologist prescribe beta blockers for palps? Mine seem to be benign, according to him, and he sent me on my merry way. Do they have to see more serious palps on the holter monitor in order to prescribe meds?
Avatar n tn My mother has just been prescribed multaq in combination with 25 mg atenolol. Three days - no problem so far. But we've just finished reading through the warnings and beta blockers is on the list. Has anyone else been taking these drugs together?
