Tekturna inhibitor

Common Questions and Answers about Tekturna inhibitor

tekturna

Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar f tn You'll find a search option at the top of the page. Search "protease inhibitor" and you'll find a lot of information here. Yes, a lot of people here do know about PIs, as we call them occasionally, and there is quite a bit of information already covered. So do a little research first and see if you still have questions.
Avatar m tn This is known. Are there any similar action in the protease inhibitor, such as Kaletra (lopinavir) for example? Have you ever thought about that? I read - sometimes laugh. Simvastatin, vitamin D, which the Chinese poeben, mythical new drugs, masturbation with measurements of the level of HBsAg, and other nonsense....
Avatar n tn Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear of your failure to tx, which Protease inhibitor were you on? I have heard of someone having ringing in the ears but I don't remember the situation, maybe they will chime in later. Read around and stay in the loop, something has to be approved soon especially with all the new Polymerase Inhibitor's in clinical trials right now. It really looks like big Pharma is trying hard to create something new and better so that's good and in your favor.
149675 tn?1416673133 For anyone who is not familiar with this drug, it is a polymerase inhibitor that is in early trials. It is given with peg and riba for the first 4 weeks. After that it is stopped and the peg and riba (SOC) continue alone for another 4 weeks. After the 8 week point you then had the option of continuing on with SOC for the next 40 weeks. This is another great future weapon in the arsenal of new drugs. It has shown a 85% EVR for geno 1's and 90% EVR for geno 2 and 3 non-responders.
479244 tn?1271563659 Can anyone point me to study results regarding Polymerase Inhibitor R7128 and non-responders/geno 1A??? I could have sworn I saw one somewhere, but now, cannot find.

Avatar f tn ve been turned down so many times for be a Telaprevir failure. I guess all the protease inhibitor trials are going to definitely be a no go for me. This whole thing is so unfair! I'm very angry about being kicked to the curb!!! I really don't want to be a whiner, but hey, you know, I think that I've earned the right to whine a little since I've done these awful treatments 10 times with never being given the pleasure, even once, of being told, 'you are undetected'.
Avatar m tn Definition: An artificial copy of a nucleoside. When incorporated into a virus DNA or RNA during viral replication, the nucleoside analog acts to prevent production of new virus. Nucleoside analogs may take the place of natural nucleosides, blocking the completion of a viral DNA chain during infection of a new cell by HIV.
544430 tn?1283712658 Is Ramipril an ace inhibitor? If so then it's the ace inhibitor. I'm on an ace inhibitor too and I have the cough, BUT I think the cough is better to have than the high blood pressure, BUT only if the cough isn't too much of a bother and doesn't keep you awake at night.
29837 tn?1414534648 VCH-222 is an oral non-nucleoside inhibitor of the HCV NS5B polymerase that recently completed a viral kinetic study in HCV patients. In this study involving five treatment-naive genotype 1a and 1b HCV infected patients, VCH-222 dosed as 750 mg twice daily resulted in a median 3.7 log10 decrease in HCV RNA - equivalent to a 5,000-fold reduction in virus in the blood - at the end of three days of dosing.
489808 tn?1209049408 Hello.....I hope someone can relate with all of this.....cause I am tired of being sick & tired! First off I guess I'd like to give a little background. Starting in October 2007 my family has been hit with some pretty hard blows. 2 deaths, aunt's cancer came back, my grandma (who practically raised me) was diagnosed with breast cancer (she had a mastectomy & is recovering quite well). I had a miscarriage on 3/9 & had a DNC on 3/11.
Avatar f tn A new 3-class DAA combination that includes grazoprevir (NS3/4 protease inhibitor) coformulated with ruzasvir, a novel NS5A inhibitor and uprifosbuvir, a novel NS5B inhibitor is currently being studied, with or without ribavirin, in the C-CREST trials in treatment-naïve and experienced adults with genotype 3 infection.
Avatar n tn I am taking both Beta Blocker and ACE inhibitor, should both be taken in the morning?
Avatar m tn I perceive that if you are taking an ace inhibitor & then add a diuretic you would have to reduce the ace inhibitor dose to offset the diuretic as the heart would have to beat faster due to the dilation and less fluid. Would this combination cause tachycardia and how should the dose be regulated?
149675 tn?1416673133 Do any of you have any experience or info on Pfizers polymerase inhibitor PF-868554? I Have been trying to find out a little more information about it and there does not seem to be a whole lot out there on it. It is supposedly pretty far along in trials (Phase 2) and they are going to be conducting another soon as my doctors office called to see if I was interested. I had heard of it but was not really well versed on it.
29837 tn?1414534648 Has anyone asked for and received the real Protease Inhibitor and gotten it instead of a placebo? I ask that because my doctor wants me to be treated again after 4 failures. I'm willing to suffer and be tortured again, but want to know that I am NOT going to receive a placebo for my troubles. Anyone?
Avatar m tn Well, Rocker, I am unhappy to report that I've been given the official, 'NO WAY, JOSE' from Schering on ever being allowed to do the Boceprevir trials, or any other Protease Inhibitor. It's not unexpected, but discouraging none the least. There's really not much out there for me anymore as far as hope for any treatments; unless or until a polymerase inhibitor trial would ever take me.
Avatar m tn CHECK THIS OUT....25th November 2008 An ongoing Phase IIa study on Schering-Plough's next generation Hepatitis C protease inhibitor is encouraging.
