Common Questions and Answers about Tekturna efficacy

tekturna

Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar n tn Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.
Avatar n tn Good article on magnesium but not clear about efficacy of magnesium oil. The seller really hypes it's effectiveness, but I'd like an unbiased opinion.
Avatar n tn Hi, Docetaxel (Taxotere) and carboplatin is an approved and effective treatment for ovarian cancer. Docetaxel and paclitaxel have nearly similar efficacy in this setting. Docetaxel is known to cause less neuropathy than paclitaxel. All the best, and God Bless!
Avatar m tn It was recently documented that the NAP REP 2139 was capable of reducing serum HBsAg levels during chronic HBV infection, improving the efficacy of immunotherapy and facilitating establishment of functional control off treatment.
489808 tn?1209049408 Hello.....I hope someone can relate with all of this.....cause I am tired of being sick & tired! First off I guess I'd like to give a little background. Starting in October 2007 my family has been hit with some pretty hard blows. 2 deaths, aunt's cancer came back, my grandma (who practically raised me) was diagnosed with breast cancer (she had a mastectomy & is recovering quite well). I had a miscarriage on 3/9 & had a DNC on 3/11.
Avatar m tn If it is about its efficacy (how long it takes to act in you system and yield results) I would be happy to answer. Please clarify your question and re-post if needed.
Avatar f tn Some (but not all) antibiotics do lower the efficacy of birth control. If the doctor told you to use a back-up method, you should have listened. Pre-ejaculate can contain some sperm--specifically if he has ejaculated beforehand and not done anything to clear the urethra. If your antibiotics lowered the efficacy of your birth control pill, you very well could ovulate while on your pill.
Avatar f tn It varies from person to person and there is a specific dosage range psychiatrists generally use for efficacy but that question is based asked to a psychiatrist. They do a blood test for Depakoate and if it is within a certain blood level then it is generally determined effective and of course the person's response is taken into account as well.
Avatar m tn who is right? Dr. Handsfield, or the Merck representative quoting data from a formal study? This isn't meant to sound rude. I'm just honestly trying to understand why Dr. Handsfield (who is an STD expert) disagrees with the study, and why. It is my understanding that upon antigenic exposure, the body initiates antibody production, so I imagine there is no reason why this wouldn't occur following a single dose of Gardasil. One would imagine there would at least be partial protection.
Avatar m tn if one were to start taking effexor, would it lose its efficacy in time? how does it work? i ask because i've heard of people going from like 37.5 mg a day to 600.....this doesn't sound good. what's the deal there? any takers?
Avatar m tn What is the efficacy of a LP for ruling out Lyme and any other neurologic disease? (My neurologist had some concern that it might induce a headache (I have suffered from chronic/dizzy headache in the past and I am free of that now). Will LP definitely rule out neurologic and Lyme?
Avatar m tn While statistically less anemia was observed in patients treated with TBV compared to RBV, the primary efficacy endpoint of these studies, a non-inferior SVR between the TBV and RBV, was not achieved. Detailed subgroup analyses of the data suggest fixed dosing as opposed to weight-based dosing, and the selection of an inadequate dose, are to blame.
