The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
I awoke about an hour after falling asleep with a rapid heartbeat. This is not the first time this has happened; but it has been at least 6 months. And this was a problem for me postpartum. Anyway, my heart beat like crazy for about 10-12 minutes then calmed down after I took an aspirin and I concentrated on deep breathing. I had coffee about 4 hours before I went to bed and one glass of wine about 6 hours before I went to bed? I did eat some--not alot--of spicy food for dinner.

I am a 25 yr old female and suffer from a rapid heart rate. At times my heart slows down to the point where i feel faint. I have had EKGs Echo and holter done but everything was normal. for a cold and my blood pressure was found to be 156/100 and I had a very rapid heartbeat. I went back one week later and it had risen to 175/106 and my heartbeat was still rapid. The doctor put me on 20 mg of lisinopril and 12.5mgmyl of hydrochlorothiazide. He also ran an EKG, chest xray and blood work, all of which came back normal except they described the EKG as borderline (but they didn't say what that meant).
I notice it at the end of my exercise when I lean forward and bend over to stretch. It sounds like a rapid ticking noise coming from my chest area. My dad has mitral valve prolapse but he has never heard of the ticking sound sensation. I also have experienced pressure in my lower throat area. Sometimes it feels tight and is hard to swallow. I am not sure if the two are related? Maybe the sound is from my throat? Or both are a result of my heart?
Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.
