406399 tn?1201884300 and I was put on a beta blocker from that point on.. as to stop the palps and control the b.p. / the Toprol xl and diovan both lowered b.p well and stopped the palps for me.. but iv been living life in pain and suffering for 6years now.. as the side effects from toprol and diovan are very harsh for me! I cant understand why a Doctor would go backwords and put me back on a medication that caused me problems before? seems strange to me !
Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar n tn Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed over 5 years ago with hodgkin's lymphoma. He has been in remission for a while now and the dr released him from his regular check ups. Because of his radiation from cancer he was then diagnosed with hypothyroidism about a year ago. He has been taking medication for it. For thr past few months he has not been himself. He has loss of concentration, lack of motivation, can't focus and can't remember anything.
8398640 tn?1398042546 s quite true that some other issues or symptoms may be an indirect cause of memory problems, especially poor sleep quality, and I agree it would be good to track these down to see if rectifying them to the extent you can provides any relief. In any case, memory failures and other cog issues are a huge reason people leave the work force, the other being plain fatigue. So they shouldn't be overlooked. I think you do need a conference with your neuro. Best of luck.
Avatar m tn Does anyone out there know from experience if 40 mg daily (20 taken before bed) is considered a high dose? If so, can this type of dosage impair memory? I've reviewed several websites and the info seems to vary considerably.
Avatar m tn I am 56 and in relative good health. I am quite active and still pitch in a baseball league. I have had asthma since childhood and have been hospitalized several times over the years. I remember being struck in the head when I was 6 by a bat and staggering into someone swinging on a swing set and being struck again. I remember throwing up that night and having a really weird dream where I heard my name called out repeatedly. This was about 1961 and concussions were not a big deal as today.
571167 tn?1223214465 I've been on methadone for 6 months. And I loose everything. Keys credit cards anything I set down. Forget to do things. Sometimes I drop my mom off and drive home, forgetting to stop at the methadone clinic. The clinic says "I haven't heard of that". I'm on 80mg. Has anyone else experienced this as fast. I am really worried, my dad died 4 years ago. From glioblastoma, which is the worst type of brain cancer and one of the symptoms is short term memory loss.
Avatar n tn It seems that you are suffering from acute anxiety and excessive stress. It is important to know if this deterioration in memory and concentration started recently or not. Also your age is important. It is difficult to tell if these symptoms are due to neurological disorder like Presenile dementia which cause loss of memory and concentration, decreased judgement, misplacing things, mood swings, confusion and loss of confidence. http://www.jobaccess.gov.
1450085 tn?1298941702 The generic klonopin and non generic affect different people in many ways. I wouldn't hesitate to contact your doctor if it continues over the next week or so. Maybe it's the wrong med for you? Good luck!
1063764 tn?1272821064 My hypothyroidism is also mild and has never caused memory problems. Take your medication and see if your memory improves. If it does not, look for another cause.
489808 tn?1209049408 Hello.....I hope someone can relate with all of this.....cause I am tired of being sick & tired! First off I guess I'd like to give a little background. Starting in October 2007 my family has been hit with some pretty hard blows. 2 deaths, aunt's cancer came back, my grandma (who practically raised me) was diagnosed with breast cancer (she had a mastectomy & is recovering quite well). I had a miscarriage on 3/9 & had a DNC on 3/11.
Avatar f tn Sounds like pretty typical child behavior. They have a lot of stuff going on in their little lives, they get really excited about things, and it's hard for them to pay attention. If he's really getting rambunctious, you have to take his hands and look him in the eyes and tell him firmly a couple times what you want. If he's misbehaving and doesn't shut up, that's what little "time outs" are for, children are learning their boundaries and limitations at that age.
Avatar f tn It's not uncommon so please don't feel you are alone. I do things all the time to keep my mind going. Often times and I went though this and go through periods where I don't feel up to do much at all. I felt my fibro fog was getting worse. My daughter commented that I was always so curious, reading and wanting to learn. I had to start stimulating myself again. I love to read, I always try to keep 1-3 books going.
715004 tn?1309077280 I suppose this is emotional abuse. I wish there were more categories to choose from. Some of us have have more that one form of abuse. Anyway, I have been abused in my childhood. I thought I'd dealt with it and gotten past it, you know the anger and all. And perhaps I did. Recently, it has come to my attention that although I may have gotten past the anger, I haven't done anything to change the impact the past has had on my way of dealing with the world.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 21 year old female who has been experiencing memory loss issues. I've always had not the best memory, but now in the past 4-5 months its gotten to a point where its negatively impacting my life on a daily basis; I can't remember things I've done with my friends, inside jokes, people I've met, what a movie I watched a month ago was about. Every day when someone says "Remember this happened..
Avatar m tn Has anyone had any problems with their memory being affected? I've read and read, web search, etc. I'm still trying to figure out if it's my thyroid, something else, or another RX causing the problem. Sometimes it seems like it's my thyroid and the RX for it helps, then it slips back again . Any suggestions? I am currently taking Synthroid and I was on Levo. I've had my doctor prescribe T3 also but I've stopped that because of migraine issues.
8323481 tn?1405705654 It gets better with time and healing. Protein packed foods and vit C will help, as will crosswords and puzzles. Yes there is damage. That's what these drugs do. I'm sorry I forget what I was talking about! What was your question??
1051214 tn?1255828242 my kids are get so upset when i get all mad and start yelling and as i am yelling, i don't even remember what the heck i am yelling about so i get more frustrated then I was before. the fire alarm went off last night as we were in a dead sleep, and i couldn't get my composer to find out what i needed to do or where all the kids were for the night cause it was just my youngest and me.
Avatar f tn I think most- if not all- of us with this have memory issues. Especially short term memory. And concentration. These are just the unfortunate symptoms of this condition. I have asked for meds to help- thinking ADHD med might help with concentration, but my NS said that it's not the same, and the ADHD meds won't work. Unless you have ADHD. Stay strong, and hopefully someone here can help you find a good doc. GL to you!!
Avatar f tn He has always been on honor roll and his main issue at school os focusing. He also has sleeping disorder and bad asthma and allergies. He has had time where he would be on 13meds at once for over a year. Now we are down to 7 meds. He has really bad short term memory. I mean he could of just stopped something and forget he did it 30 seconds later.
Avatar f tn I know some people who take many photos and journal along with them to keep a running memory of their life - and reviewing it helps jog things alot. Now that is if you are organized and have the energy for that stuff. I'd like to do it. Sound good. Don't. I hardly read books any more, because by the middle (or less) I will have forgotten the beginning or who the characters are.... BUT when I do read I take notes! And review them before I start reading again.
Avatar f tn I do the same as StacyAl, I make notes of things I did to do and cross them off as I go. And yes vision changes is normal in pregnancy as well and they will most likely remain the same after pregnancy. I didn't need glasses until my first pregnancy. I got my vision checked with this pregnancy only because I have medicaid (during pregnancy only) and they pay for one pair of glasses!
1611972 tn?1299092582 It is all a matter as to how much overcrowding and CSF blockage u have that u may be affected like this.....I tend to have teh same issue from time to time....
