406399 tn?1201884300 and I was put on a beta blocker from that point on.. as to stop the palps and control the b.p. / the Toprol xl and diovan both lowered b.p well and stopped the palps for me.. but iv been living life in pain and suffering for 6years now.. as the side effects from toprol and diovan are very harsh for me! I cant understand why a Doctor would go backwords and put me back on a medication that caused me problems before? seems strange to me !
Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar m tn In the past two weeks I have worked to exhaustion up a 5m ladder cutting old ivy and bouganvillea. I have never felt better in years. I walk/run 5km. Pulse 104 and no symptoms that could in any way be related to CAD. hope you are thriving.
Avatar f tn I am on medication Fenotorva 20 for high lipids and Tenormin 25 for BP. Rabeparazol for acid reflux. I feel anxious whole the day. Plz tell me what should i do. Is fatty liver and high insulin reversible.
Avatar n tn Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.

Avatar f tn They state that excess dietary lysine did not change serum lipids and glucose significantly. The data showed that excess lysine caused changes in lipid metabolism which varied with the quantity of casein in it. Regards.
Avatar m tn 1. Can the heart rate or blood pressure depends on lipids or glucose level in blood? 2. Can lipids or glucose level in blood be increased by stress?
Avatar n tn Fatty molecules are transported in a protein capsule, and the density of the lipids and type of protein determines the fate of the particle and its influence on metabolism. This condition may be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease or acute pancreatitis. You can read ore about this through this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperlipidemia Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn My husband recently got back test results with high "lipids". He has been taking fish oils. Can this raise the overall lipids? Also, he ate ice cream the day before the test...can this affect the result so much?
Avatar m tn This has been demonstrated in new analyses of the landmark Prospective Cardiovascular Munster (PROCAM) and the REsiduAl risk Lipids and Standard Therapies (REALIST) surveys, the latter funded and conducted by the Residual Risk Reduction Initiative Foundation or R3i. These data have been presented today at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) congress. Here's a link to the article, interesting read......... http://www.news-medical.
Avatar f tn What are lipids high cholesterol or low I have unually low cholesterol
Avatar m tn RBC minimally higher than normal, LDL slightly high (hence total Chol), but all other lipids normal. B12, Mg and thyroid normal. The pain started in left foot toes, now some pain and burning/tingling that moves all over my feet, even the right foot which was ok. I dont get it! What's the reason for my nerve damage, while even my blood sugar is normal?
Avatar n tn I have read and heard about Dr. Budwig's protocol regarding cancer and heart disease. Are there any studies done on this mixture of cottage cheese, flaxoil, flaxseeds, berries? If yes. Where can I find this infomation?
Avatar m tn I am a 52 year old Engineer and Gym Rat who works out regularly, runs at least three days per week, has a body fat percentage of 14.1% and has always had great lipids. My HDL's have always been in the high 50's to 60's range. Yesterday I had a finger prick lipid test and while my LDL's all came back at the same great levels they always have been, my HDL's have absolutely tanked. They came in at 22!
Avatar m tn The use of chlorinated acetic acids has been found to be effective in the removal of xanthelasma. These agents precipitate and coagulate proteins and dissolve lipids. Electrodesiccation and cryotherapy can destroy xanthelasmas when they are superficial but may require repeated treatments. Cryotherapy may cause scarring and hypopigmentation. Ref:http://www.emedicine.com/OPH/topic610.htm. You could discus treatment options with a dermatologist/cosmetic surgeon.
Avatar n tn Yes, that is getting some attention as we speak.........found a Dr. that is willing to try NP thyroid............
Avatar n tn m not even sure if there are lipids capable. If there are, something has to signal the lipids to do a cleaning exercise, but nothing does. It just seems nuts that such a complex immune system can't handle fat.
Avatar f tn I am concerned about my cholesterol levels and triglycerides. I am on a strict diet, but high cholesterol and triglycerides are genetic. Is it safe for me to take Centrum Cardio Vitamins (with plant phytols) to help lower my cholesterol? Also, does buffered niacin (or non-flushing niacin) work equally as well as regular niacin in helping to lower cholesterol? And is it safe to take with coumadin?
212161 tn?1599427282 at what point does high bp start to cause problems with heart and veins, mine gets a little high like 157/78 than next time I check it , its down in the 139. so does it to do damage to my heart and artires while its up that short of time, or does it have to stay up days at time to do damage. plus what does it mean if top number high and bottom number normal like 167/75. what does the top number being high mean like is that from anxiety /stress or does it have a reason.
Avatar n tn Although I am unable to do rigorous exercise I walk at least 40 (20 briskly) minutes a day and do everything right with my diet since I found out I had a cholesterol two years ago, my LDL has lowered but so has my HDL. What can I do besides exercise and loose weight (I don't smoke) and take drugs to lower my HDL? Here are the facts: Weight from 200 to 185 (6"1") Cholesterol from 229 to 177 Triglyceride from 110 to 99 HDL from 55 to 39 LDL from 158 to 119 Risk factor from 4.
Avatar m tn Total cholesterol is made up of HDL and LDL cholesterol but also factors in VLDL and triglycerides. You can not get your total cholesterol number without all of this factored in. Perhaps your VLDL (very low density lipids) or triglycerides are out of whack and higher than they should be. Do you know what these numbers are as well on your report? This article is excellent at explaining it all. https://my.clevelandclinic.
