1580703 tn?1651904887 It's unusual that tamsulosin should relieve your chest pain. While tamsulosin is used primarily as a prostate medication, it can also lower blood pressure in some individuals. This may be a sign that your blood pressure is high (which may lead to chest pain in some), which is then being reduced by the tamsulosin. Enlargement can occur due to a number of reasons.
Avatar n tn Tansulosin rarely causes pain during ejaculation. “Tamsulosin may rarely cause a prolonged, painful erection. This could happen even when you are not having sex. If this is not treated right away, it could lead to permanent sexual problems such as impotence. Contact your doctor right away if this happens.” Refer: http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tamsulosin.html Please consult your doctor and ask for a change in prescription. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar n tn This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known. I’ll suggest you to discuss the same with your urologist. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
1580703 tn?1651904887 s palsy and was going blind in the left eye from weakness of the muscle (it became blind and gray and blurry). my vision is still blurry and after taking tamsulosin I began to have weakness and trouble blinking the left eye. Is there anything I need to do like take medication or exercise the eye by blinking or focusing?
Avatar f tn A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar f tn I had no idea why I was feeling like I have a cold, very stuffy nose, headache, blurred vision, abdominal pain, lower back pain and lastly a bloody nose that started me looking at the side effects of this medicine... It causes all the symptoms I just listed. Why would anyone prescribe this medicine unless they are receiving payment from the drug company manufacturing it! It is unhealthy and can also create cataracts. DO NOT TAKE TAMSULOSIN FOR ANY REASON.
Avatar m tn At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.
Avatar m tn I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
Avatar m tn I am using Flowmax (Tamsulosin) for about 3 months for enlarged prostate. I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?
Avatar f tn I would really appreciate any help! The pain comes sometimes before ejaculating as well during the buildup stages...pain can last for hours after! I also have premature ejaculation.
1831849 tn?1383228392 I saw my urologist he other day and she said that she now like Rapaflo (slidosin) more than Flomax (tamsulosin) for urinary hesitancy. Both are designed to address benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I know the primary audience is men, but there are women who take tamsulosin for urinary hesitancy. I was taking the max dose of tamsulosin, .8mg/day. I'm now taking 8mg Rapaflo/day. I'm told that it will take 4-5 days to see the full benefit if Rapaflo and I'm now on day 3.
Avatar m tn Retrograde ejaculation is very common. During ejaculation, the sphincter muscle closes forcing the ejaculate out the urethra. When this muscle weakens, many times the semen goes into the bladder. Unless you want children, there is no harm. When you void you will see the semen in the urine. If you want children, the semen can be removed from the urine. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn 60-year-old female, overall good health, long history of chronic UTI and hematuria Pain led me to ER on Dec. 26, where a 1-2 mm stone (Right proximal ureter with mild bilateral hydronephrosis) was discovered. Followed up with urologist a few days later. We agreed on pushing fluids, straining urine, etc. As of repeat CT scan today, Jan. 22, stone has not moved. Pain still comes and goes, but isn't disabling.
Avatar m tn Does Tamsulosin 0.4 Mg cause Ed?
Avatar f tn I wake up with extreme lower back pain middle to the back to lower back after an hour of walking around I feel better I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago the only did a urine analysis that I had moderate amount of blood in my urine said had kidney stone but I don't think I do i can't go back to doctor yet anyone have a clue
Avatar n tn I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
Avatar f tn Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
Avatar m tn Obstruction is a possibility also hinted, afaik, by a large urea/creatinine ratio in the urine. I am taking tamsulosin 0.4 mg/d and testing with my doctor 0.8 mg/d to check PVR. I have had regularly and also recently DREs which were all normal. I am 56, otherwise healthy, moderately active, fit and eating a well balanced diet with relatively high protein intake (Zone).
Avatar m tn July 2011 I had severe pain in left kidney and scanned it USG result in 4.9 mm stone in left kidney.Doctor gave me medicines and a diet chart which is seriously followed by me.Yesterday March 2013 again I had a pain in left and USG showing 4.9 mm stone in Left upper ureteric Calculus. Is surgery is last option available ??? Can medicine help me to pass it through......
Avatar m tn I am also seeing occasionally little blood cloths. I have no pain anywhere nor problems urinating. I am a 55 year old male and been taking Tamsulosin for about 7-10 months. Statistically I have an increase chance to have bladder problems, but nobody in my family had issues. True that my dad died at 57 due to prostate and/or brain cancer (had them both). My PSA is within limits and doctor's exam (you, know the "fun" part) was OK.
Avatar f tn I tried this for 6 days with no change to the symptoms Again tested Urine - negative for bactria etc 7 weeks from the first symptoms,we tried Lyrica 0.4mg (twice a day) along with Tamsulosin (Alphablocker, once in night) and continue Celebrex 200 mg twice a day. I changed my Urologist, he did an ultrasound and DRE and bladder, kidney and prostate are in good shape with no inflammation or abnormalities.
Avatar m tn In the mean time, while regularly consulting urologists, testing PSA, its velocity, doubling time and free %,, having lower abdomen scanning (CT and ultrasonography) I developed symptoms of BPH mainly shown as a very important post void residual (PVR, increasing from 100-200 to about 500mL). I am prescribed tamsulosin 0.4mg/d and doubling dose to 0.8mg/d but PVR remains very high and considering TURP or similar.
Avatar m tn A few days ago, I experienced severe pain while urinating, and urination was reduced to a slight dripping, however later that day when urinating I gradually became able to urinate at a faster rate. Then the pain disappeared and the rate of urination increased substantially, to close to the rate I experience after dilation (and substantially better than before I experienced pain) and has been quite constant for the last few days. This has never happened before...
Avatar n tn One theory involves spasm of the bladder floor, there have been some studies using tamsulosin, the results seem beneficial – but the statistics are not really compelling to make a robust recommendation. Others have used an anticonvulsant drug Topiramate – this likely targets nerve dysfunction. There are some surgical options as well, including removing certain sections of ligaments and ablating nerves that may be dysfunctional.
