Common Questions and Answers about Tamsulosin in pregnancy

flomax

Avatar f tn Do you have stones in your urinary tract? Tamsulosin can treat that, but isn't usually given for an uncomolicated UTI. I can't tell you to stop taking it, but you should absolutely let your doctor know about your retrograde ejaculation, and find out if you had stones. Never hesitate to contact your doctor. They want to know about your side effects and how you're doing. It helps them do their jobs better.
Avatar m tn I would tell your doctor. In animal models, it was shown to affect testes size and shape. It very well could be the flomax. But worth it to reduce the prostate. Any ejaculation issues?
1580703 tn?1651904887 While tamsulosin is used primarily as a prostate medication, it can also lower blood pressure in some individuals. This may be a sign that your blood pressure is high (which may lead to chest pain in some), which is then being reduced by the tamsulosin. Enlargement can occur due to a number of reasons. Right atrium and ventricle enlargement can sometimes happen in the setting of underlying pulmonary disease, or severe disease of the left side of the heart.
1831849 tn?1383228392 I saw my urologist he other day and she said that she now like Rapaflo (slidosin) more than Flomax (tamsulosin) for urinary hesitancy. Both are designed to address benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I know the primary audience is men, but there are women who take tamsulosin for urinary hesitancy. I was taking the max dose of tamsulosin, .8mg/day. I'm now taking 8mg Rapaflo/day. I'm told that it will take 4-5 days to see the full benefit if Rapaflo and I'm now on day 3.
Avatar n tn Hi Jon, Have you thought of googling Tamsulion and Viagra, if you did you would find the answer you lookning for, from what I just read it saya with caution, but for me I would give it a miss, unless you doctor says differant, is this the same doctor who has put you on Tamsulosin? because he would have had it in his notes saying you had Viagra.
Avatar f tn These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?
Avatar n tn This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known. I’ll suggest you to discuss the same with your urologist. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.
Avatar n tn I am on tamsulosin because of urine retention. Unfortunately it has started working in the wrong direction. Now when I have to urinate I need to go right away or I leak. This happened several years ago when I was on Flomax so I quit and I’m going to quit again.
Avatar m tn Does Tamsulosin 0.4 Mg cause Ed?
Avatar m tn I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
Avatar m tn Obstruction is a possibility also hinted, afaik, by a large urea/creatinine ratio in the urine. I am taking tamsulosin 0.4 mg/d and testing with my doctor 0.8 mg/d to check PVR. I have had regularly and also recently DREs which were all normal. I am 56, otherwise healthy, moderately active, fit and eating a well balanced diet with relatively high protein intake (Zone).
Avatar f tn Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
Avatar f tn Pain initially began as irritated foreskin. It was chronically sore and hurt. Seemed like it was always raw. From there, I experienced burning when ejaculating and sometimes peeing. This started over a year ago. Urologist took urine test/bacterial culture which was normal. No stds present. We tried tamsulosin which I stopped because I couldn't tell if it was doing anything (took for a couple weeks). He said I could try an oral anti fungal or some sort of antibiotic next if I wanted.
Avatar m tn July 2011 I had severe pain in left kidney and scanned it USG result in 4.9 mm stone in left kidney.Doctor gave me medicines and a diet chart which is seriously followed by me.Yesterday March 2013 again I had a pain in left and USG showing 4.9 mm stone in Left upper ureteric Calculus. Is surgery is last option available ??? Can medicine help me to pass it through......
Avatar m tn Maybe. The doctor found gland cells in my urine. We think it's endometriosis. I've had constant urinary infections and phantom symptoms even when i don't for over 2 years now. I never thought about it before the urologist mentioned it but it does get worse when my period comes around. For the most part its not really painful in the 'oh my god ow' kind of way.
Avatar m tn Glucose BUN, Creatinine, eGFT, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Carbon Dioxide Calcium and Uric Acid all in normal range. Parathyroid in normal range, Hyperparathyroidism - low, Primary - normal, Secondary - high, Tertiary - High, Non-Parathyroid Hypercalcemia - low. Calcium - high end of normal range. 24-Hour Urine results not back yet. eGFR down just a touch from last May - 92 to 88. Not worrisome at all to me. I see nephrologist in April for check up anyway.
Avatar f tn I had x-rays showing I had a small kidney stone proximately 2 mm in my upper left kidney. I had some signs of blood in my urine now are four months down the road and every once in a while, I will still show blood in my urine and I don’t know if I’ve ever passed the stone. My question is if a stone is forming, but not moving can it cause blood in urine?
Avatar m tn • 19 days after, I am drinking a lot (2-3l fluids), taking normal dose of tamsulosin in the evening (0.4mg) (will soon try to stop this under medical recommendation) plus distigmine bromide (5mg) in the morning (1 every 2 days after the first week) for the hypotonic bladder. • Can empty 350-450ml typically at night (but going 3-4 times!) but also during day, this looks good. Had peaks at 500ml and even 600ml. Frequency is high as going about every hour.
Avatar m tn However straight away i get the feeling in the uretha again of needing to urinate. I am currently on Mirabegron and Tamsulosin medication. It has helped slightly but i still get the symptoms of above. My NHS recommends i may now need BOTOX injections.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I have been having eye problems with bell's palsy and was going blind in the left eye from weakness of the muscle (it became blind and gray and blurry). my vision is still blurry and after taking tamsulosin I began to have weakness and trouble blinking the left eye. Is there anything I need to do like take medication or exercise the eye by blinking or focusing?
Avatar m tn Would Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery help avoiding complications, such as IFIS, in a male patient who has taken tamsulosin (Flomax)?
