I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
To my horror I came across this page and saw your posts. I stopped taking propecia more than a year ago and have not regained any of the sexual funtion i lost while taking the meds. My erections are LAME, my seaman volume is a joke (and it used to come out like a garden hose) and my orgasms dont even feel that great. I can go months and months now without masterbation and dont even feel horny. This NEVER used to happen to me.
About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. I am a 23 year old male and noticed approximately 4-5 weeks ago that I have been losing quite a bit of hair. Not in large clumps but when I run a wet hand through my hair, a good 10-20 hairs are stuck to it. If I keep running my hand through more and more keeps coming out. Although it is worst in the front it appears to be rapidly thinning everywhere. I have very thick hair so this may have been going on for longer and I may have just not realized it.
I have been taking Propecia since 2.5 years at variable doses(0.25 first 6months, 0.5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days.

I am 25 year old guy.. I have hair loss. so the doctor prescribed me for propecia which i consumed last 50 days. for the first 30 days, i consumed one tablet per day and the last 20 days i consumed 2 tablets/day. I was also taking anti convolution tablet for a different reason from a different doctor for 10 days.

I still strongly feel the urge for sex and am still very interested in my wife, but it suddenly is taking quite some time to get an erection. I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. With certain exceptions I would question the competence of any physician who kept a patient on prednisone for twenty-five years, with a few exceptions. A transplant patient, for example.
It is an inappropriate protocol.
It is common for older (over 65) physicians to over prescribe prednisone. Years ago it was prescribed routinely and without regard for long-term side effects.

We have good testosterone as well as bad. Drugs such at rogaine and propecia can help with this, but i personally did not do well on propecia. It did weird things to me.
Propecia is a brand name but it is actually Finasteride.
