I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

Hi. I am currently taking biaxin because I have pleurisy. My question is how long does the biaxin stay in your system after you're finished taking it? Is it safe to get pregnant after taking it?

The second was also in China and was also unprotected oral but as I was drinking I remember putting on a condom and inserting into her vagina for a very short while but after I was concerned that the condom fell of, even though I think I remember taking it off after the fact but that is worse case secerio. This happened in Sept of 2008 and below is the testing I have had.

They put me on Biaxin and told me to rest. I have been on Biaxin now for a little over two weeks and I am almost finished with the pills. He said it could make Biaxin up to 40% more effective. He did warn me about the potential vision issue but that it was very rare. ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! Nausea, headache, depression, crying outbursts, metallic taste, and wanting to sleep all day are the main ones. I have never felt depressed like this in my life. I was on plaquenil with Biaxin for a little while. My doc said plaquenil makes the body more alkaline, making Biaxin significantly more effective. I drank lemon water for several months when I first got diagnosed. I still find it counter-intuitive that what I thought were acidic lemons would make me more alkaline. I've seen info that cancer cells divide more in acidic environments, so staying more alkaline supposedly helps ward off cancer. An added bonus.

Hi. I was on biaxin & amoxil for ten days. I started the antibiotics Oct. 16 & completed them Nov. 2. I took my birth control everyday. I had unprotected sex Oct. 17 & Nov. 3. I took my last white pill this week Tue. Nov. My cycle dIdnt really come on. I spotted this Friday it was like mucus with a touch of pinkish color then later that night it was darkish brown color with mucus and as of today I still don't have a flowing cycle.

Why is it that taking oral antibiotics (leviquin, biaxin and now Z pack) seem to give me spells of palpitations--rapid/pounding heart beat? This is listed as a side effect, but I'd like to know if there's a chemical explanation. I am a 49 year-old female runner w/ normal resting hr of about 50-55. I have a history of PAC's and PVC's but nothing serious.
