1597714 tn?1299828089 Hi, does anyone know what the reference ranges are for thyroid tests? My doc told me I'm fine, and she gave me a copy of the report, but it doesn't list the reference range. It only lists my result. Here it is: TSH 0.74 FREE T4 15 FREE T3 4.
Avatar m tn I have started this new thread in order to keep this discussion from interfering with other members' threads. This is in response to moonlight0. Well, that is good. I suspected that you might be in the medical field. Understand, that none of what I have said was intended to do anything other than to get you to question your "Immaculate TSH Belief" and your use of "Reference Range Endocrinology".
541196 tn?1293552936 Soes anyone know the reference range from 11PM on past 1 AM for saliva cortisol? My reference range from Quest only goes to 11 PM. I took the test at 12AM and 1AM. .06 mcg/dl midnight .07 mcg/dl 1 am.
Avatar n tn I found one reference range of 5-50. There doesn't seem to be a solid method to standardize results. You can try a copy and paste of this link for more information. http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?
1327431 tn?1327072104 There is no normal range with thyroid, every person has an optimal range where the have no symptoms, the problem today with thyroid is that many mds still use an old reference range for TSH as an example, some go by .05 to 5.5, some 0.4 to 4.5 and the better one use .03 to 3.
Avatar m tn What's the reference range for the T4; and is that FREE or total? If the lab report doesn't specifically say "free", then it's total and pretty much obsolete/useless. That said, with the T4 as low as it is, I agree with Laura, that you are under medicated. Would be great if you can get your doctor to test FT3, along with the TSH and FT4; and always make sure you get a copy of your lab report for your own records; your doctor is required to give you one, upon request.
6506604 tn?1382104872 Be aware that being an Endocrinologist does not guarantee a good thyroid doctor. Many of them specialize in diabetes, not thyroid. Many of them also have the "Immaculate TSH Belief" and only want to treat based on TSH. That doesn't work. If they go beyond TSH, it is usually only to test for Free T4 and then they use "Reference Range Endocrinology", by which they will tell you that a test result that falls anywhere within the range is adequate for you. Also wrong.
Avatar n tn of Clinical Endocrinologists ) as of January 2003 the TSH should be between 0.3-3.0. Why is it that so many labs still go by the reference range .35-5.50?
Avatar f tn i just will tell about what my sister experience in the past 6 months 1.September, 4th 2015 -my sister felt not good on her knee and doctor ask for MRI, the result shows that my sister need to do arthroscopy, at this point we just thought it is probably just -blood result shows that ESR 54 (reference range 0-15) and full blood count shown that everything was ok except haemoglobin 11.6 (reference range 12-16) 2.
