Avatar f tn The skin gets extremely red when I scrub it to remove the flakes. Is this area afected by psoriasis or it this dermatitis seborrheic or other condition. It is so embarrassing especially that I work around a lot of people. Cortizone creams help me while I apply them, but as soon as I stop, the condition flares up.
Avatar f tn Hi I am a healthy 20 year old female with a childhood and somewhat teenage years history of eczema. I have a very itchy red flaky rash on only one calf. It started about a year ago as small circular patches and then grew to cover almost my entire calf. I was told by one doctor it was eczema and given betamethasone which helped sort of but it became just as bad after I stopped using it.
Avatar n tn Almost looks a LITTLE more faint than usual today...
Avatar m tn i wouldnt lower the tacrolimus dose further
Avatar m tn I just got over a pretty severe case of psoriasis that covered a good portion of my body, but the thing is my palms and the bottoms of my feet were covered in dead skin, and i mean a lot. I would tear it off and it would be right back times 3. The scales were there as well on my arms, legs, genitle region, ect. I got prescribed prednisone 20 mg 3 times a day. Cleaned it right out but, there is a problem with my face. My face is red and not embarresed red Just red.
Avatar m tn The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus. She also said that because our dog doesn't have a dry, goopy nose, that pilocarpine wouldn't be a first choice. She recommended a mix of tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said sirolimus is new. I have not been able to find anything about this drug on the internet.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be eczema skin, atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. Although steroids, are commonly used for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, there are certain other agents also which are used like immune modulator drugs e.g. tacrolimus. These are available in the form of ointments and tend to prevent the recurrence. You can discuss with your dermatologist regarding the right use.
Avatar m tn t heal normally. Rather, they form scales or crusts that grow and they shed every few days, similar to psoriasis. Although there is no official cure for this condition, I am tying to heal myself right now. Although I am far from cured, I seem to be making progress on my current treatment, which includes topical vitamin, occasional Aquaphor, Ibuprofen before bed, and saline solution soaks.
Avatar f tn This is for my mother. She has such severe dry deep cracked feet, that they swell to a degree she is often in a wheel chair for extended periods of time. The pain is unbearable for her. SHe has seen several dermatologists and an immunologist. Has been tested for Lupus and other auto immune disorders all were negative. The dr's give her creams that don't help for more than a few days then they flair up again worse than time before.
Avatar m tn His cretanine is almost 1.4 or around. My question is that should he continue his TACROLIMUS tablets or should switch to some other tablets which are safe for kidneys? Secondly , in my sorrounding there is an opinion that lowering the TACROLIMUS dose also let the liver enzymes to increase? Do you favour such opinions as my father has lowered his tacrolimus dose to keep his kidneys safe? Sir ,will wait for your kind reply. Thanks.
Avatar n tn s hard to perform my job or other daily tasks when my eyelids are so inflamed. I guess steroids are the only option until they develop something better. Is Tacrolimus a promising nonsteroidal option?
Avatar f tn The treatments of this condition are application of topical corticosteroids (betamethasone, clobatesol, flucinolone) which will reduce the inflammatory process. Topical immunomodulators like pimecrolimus and tacrolimus can be used in severe conditions. I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill and the patch may increase the blood level of tacrolimus. Tacrolimus may also reduce the effectiveness of these hormonal contraceptives. For this reason women who could get pregnant should ideally use a non-hormonal method of contraception, eg condoms, to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. Seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
Avatar n tn there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
Avatar f tn AS I HAVE SUFFERED BREATHLESSNESS AND WALKING PROBLEMS,I HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF TACROLIMUS AND PUT ON NEORAL-YET THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT IN MY CONDITION.IS THERE ANY OTHER ANTI REJECTION DRUG THAT YOU WOULD RECOMMEND (I HAVE HAD A LIVER TRANSPLANT RECENTLY)? IN YOUR EXPERIENCE,CAN MY SITUATION BE IMPROVED?THANKS.
Avatar n tn I have not had much luck with my skin starting since I was about 19, when I was diagnosed with psoriasis. No doubt I have that but now they say I have either Eczema or a Fungus. My dermatologist at the TTU medical center say Eczema and the Allergist I went to says it's a fungus. Here are some of the symptoms to my problems. First of all it can either be a clutter of little bumps or just one little bump but no matter what they itch like crazy.
Avatar m tn i would be extremely cautious about using it until more data is available especially since its purported effects on tacrolimus and cyclosporine metabolism are extreme. i am quite confident that there will be clinical trials coming down the road extremely soon.
Avatar f tn My tacrolimus level is 4.2 after 4 months of liver transplant, Is it dangerous? what should i do?
Avatar m tn I have not felt well since and to top it all I have just been diagnosed with psoriasis which I know to be HIV related esp in men my age with no history of it. I have had several negative hiv tests how many coincidences and pointers to HIV can there be? Can anyone suggest a doctor or lab that can test for genetic variants ? Also I'd appreciate hearing from anyone in a similar position ?
Avatar m tn Now, two years after my unprotected exposure I got psoriasis. Balanitis still here, swollen lymph nodes still here, seborrheic dermatitis which flared up a couple of months after exposure, all different kind of rashes, weakness in the whole body... Thinking about taking another test. I cannot believe this, I really got psoriasis. It should be a really big coincidence that those symptoms are not related with my exposure.
Avatar n tn Hi, Sunlight and water may make a difference in how psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis look and feel. The following natural treatments may also prove to be effective: aloe vera, apple cider vinegar, capsaicin, emu oil, evening primrose oil, oats, and tea tree oil. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.psoriasis.org/treatment/psoriasis/ Take care and regards.
