PROBLEM - I have had (red) peeling skin between my eyebrows for several years. The skin gets extremely red when I scrub it to remove the flakes. Is this area afected by psoriasis or it this dermatitis seborrheic or other condition. It is so embarrassing especially that I work around a lot of people. Cortizone creams help me while I apply them, but as soon as I stop, the condition flares up.
Hi I am a healthy 20 year old female with a childhood and somewhat teenage years history of eczema. I have a very itchy red flaky rash on only one calf. It started about a year ago as small circular patches and then grew to cover almost my entire calf. I was told by one doctor it was eczema and given betamethasone which helped sort of but it became just as bad after I stopped using it.
s biopsy and lab numbers clearly show him heading down the road to fibrosis and cirrohsis, would it make sense to push for trying the new drugs at least the approved ones for non-transplant such as teleprevir and bocepavir? Otherwise the patient is looking at another transplant which would seem to be quite a negative option.

These are available in the form of ointments and tend to prevent the recurrence. You can discuss with your dermatologist regarding the right use.

The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus. She has such severe dry deep cracked feet, that they swell to a degree she is often in a wheel chair for extended periods of time. The pain is unbearable for her. SHe has seen several dermatologists and an immunologist. Has been tested for Lupus and other auto immune disorders all were negative. The dr's give her creams that don't help for more than a few days then they flair up again worse than time before. Last night her feet swelled to more than twice the normal size.
these are topical medications. The maintenance therapy for psoriasis requires tapering off of steroids once response and improvement has been achieved as well as the use of moisturizers. A bland and mild cream may be used as daily moisturizer.

Not so sure about tacrolimus. Look at the law offices looking for people treated with tacrolimus creams. Still some concern out there about serious side effects. Don't forsee approval anytime soon in U.S.
As a side note, have your doctor look for demodex follicularis. Some research indicates that they can worsen lid margin disease.
I had my first session of laser hair removal for lower legs yesterday and after a few hours my legs started itching. The itch was so bad that I couldn't help not to scratch them and today I noticed red spots all over my lower legs. The red spots look like rash and are itchy. I'm worried that the laser might have burned my skin. Dose anybody knows if this is normal or I should stop laser hair removal treatment?

there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
I have moderate psoriasis and have been applying topical clobetasol for a few months.
It seems to be helping the psoriatic spots, but has caused bruising and thinning of the skin in the surrounding, healthy areas.
How do i reverse this?
Sunlight helps the psoriasis, but is it dangerous to expose thinning skin to the rays?
Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill and the patch may increase the blood level of tacrolimus. Tacrolimus may also reduce the effectiveness of these hormonal contraceptives. For this reason women who could get pregnant should ideally use a non-hormonal method of contraception, eg condoms, to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. I understand how concerned you are about this. Your mother appears to have a severe form of psoriasis. In cases such as these, topical medications may no longer be effective. I suggest that you discuss with your mother’s physician the effectiveness of PUVA for treating psoriasis especially in severe forms.
