Avatar m tn i wouldnt lower the tacrolimus dose further
Avatar m tn Both eyes had a schirmer test of 0. (interestingly though, a few days before at the vet, the schirmer test was 12 in both eyes). Now 6 weeks later, the right eye has a 6 and the left eye still has 0. The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus.
Avatar f tn If you get diarrhoea during treatment, this can affect the amount of medicine in your blood and extra monitoring of your tacrolimus blood level is recommended.
Avatar f tn What is considered "high blood pressure" and when does it become a concern??? My typical blood pressure is in the low 120's/low 130's however, lately its been in the mid140's/low 150's. Does this happen after transplant (3 months post transplant)? Should I be concerned? Does Prograf cause tremors? And...can these tremors be contributing to making a person feel tired and exhausted???
Avatar n tn I was OK with my test results until I read that Elidel was chemically similiar to tacrolimus a calcineurin inhibitor that is used in transplant patients. I test orally via the OraQuick test 3,4,5, and 8 months out. All negative. I also had a 6 month blood EIA test done through Quest labs with a non-reactive result. My questions are as follows: 1. Given the length of time I have been using Elidel do you think it could have prevented my body from developing antibodies to HIV.
Avatar m tn What are the purported effects on tacrolimus? Has there already been a trial or test? Once a transplant patient's biopsy and lab numbers clearly show him heading down the road to fibrosis and cirrohsis, would it make sense to push for trying the new drugs at least the approved ones for non-transplant such as teleprevir and bocepavir? Otherwise the patient is looking at another transplant which would seem to be quite a negative option.
Avatar f tn Hello, The symptoms looks more like cheilitis skin rather than cold sore. Diagnosed by blood test like RAST. Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases. Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful. Avatar m tn His cretanine is almost 1.4 or around. My question is that should he continue his TACROLIMUS tablets or should switch to some other tablets which are safe for kidneys? Secondly , in my sorrounding there is an opinion that lowering the TACROLIMUS dose also let the liver enzymes to increase? Do you favour such opinions as my father has lowered his tacrolimus dose to keep his kidneys safe? Sir ,will wait for your kind reply. Thanks.
Avatar m tn i feel perfectly fine though. i dont have any symptoms. if i was to take a blood test in 4 days, will my sgpt and sgot level go high? please help. thank you.
Avatar n tn s hard to perform my job or other daily tasks when my eyelids are so inflamed. I guess steroids are the only option until they develop something better. Is Tacrolimus a promising nonsteroidal option?
Avatar f tn The treatments of this condition are application of topical corticosteroids (betamethasone, clobatesol, flucinolone) which will reduce the inflammatory process. Topical immunomodulators like pimecrolimus and tacrolimus can be used in severe conditions. I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.

He told me there was no other treatment, and it would work better with routine use. So, against my better judement I did what he said. I have used it almost daily for nearly a year. I now know I have steroid induced rosacea. My NEW dermatologist has taken me off the fluocinonide.

2093628 tn?1332979308 I have a 5 yr old rescue long haired chi mix that has neurogenic KCS (dry eye) adopted 10/2011. We've gone thru the university vet school ophthamology treatments (cyclosporin, tacrolimus, and pilocarpine drops) since 10/11 with no response. We are currently treating with gels, drops, and ointments throughout the day and antibiotic ointment as needed. The next step appears to be having his eye removed. Has anyone had this done?

Avatar n tn He is 16 years old and is on several immunesurpresents at this time which include Cellcept, Tacrolimus, Predisone. My question is should he seek medical attention for this or could it be just a side effect of his medications he is on?
Avatar f tn I was initially taking Tacrolimus and then I was switched to Sirolimus. I cannot remember why my immunosuppressive was changed but Sirolimus was pretty new then and maybe my surgeon wanted to try it and see how I did. I wasn't very fond of it as I recall. It came in small packets and was an oily solution. It's been a while but I do remember that. I probably mentioned this to my surgeon and that could be the reason that he switched me back.

Avatar m tn and the Creatinine level at that was 1.5 - 1.6. The doctor reduced the tacrolimus dose to .5 mg morning and evening and since then the Creatinine level is slowly increasing. It is now between varying between 2.1 and 2.4. The TAC level is also low and reduced from 4.5 to 3.4 to 2.4 when last checked 2 months ago. Had a biopsy 2 months back and the report was OK. Pl suggest.
