Prograf blood test

Common Questions and Answers about Prograf blood test

prograf

Avatar f tn I think 2 mg Prograf per day at 6 months out is a really nice dose and his Prograf blood level of 6.5 is definitely within range.
Avatar f tn And its random...it could be 154/72 and then test it about 20 minutes later and its 122/72. Could the prograf be causing an elevated blood pressure therefore contributing to the dull inconsistent headaches?? Why is it so random?
Avatar n tn It is not unusual for Prograf levels to fluctuate a lot early on. That is why you have blood test fairly frequently. I imagine you are having them at least once per week, no? After about 5 months post TP, the prograf level should be more stable, and is desireable to be at 3 to 8. I wouldn't worry about the numbers you have, just talk to the Dr. with any concerns.
Avatar f tn prograf can cause tremor and high blood pressure. its not unusual to feel fatigued this soon after a transplant.
Avatar f tn What tests are able to determine if there is renal artery stenosis? Is it via blood test or CT scan/ultrasound? Which medication would you consider increasing? In regards to the prograf, currently taking 2.5mg 2x daily. Almost one year post transplant. Very worried. As always, thank you for answering my questions.
Avatar n tn If i lower my prograf lower than 6.5 through rate i start getting discomfort right side .i am having cognitive issues on prograf that are getting very hard to live with, seems like it got alot worse after my last of three mri with contrast in two years. was hospitalized two days after last contrast exsposure white blood count went to1000, headach, fever urine got exstremly foamy, severe itching ,tighting and rashd eveloped on lower legs two weeks after.
Avatar f tn t worn these earrings within four days, then she has nothing to worry about, as the Hep C virus lives outside the body in blood up to 4 days only. Is that correct?
Avatar f tn The doctor - does he suspect virus infection, I am not sure - prescribed a blood test, result of which comes out after a week or so. Is this situation - TLC at 2.8 for two weeks now despite CellCept being reduced to Nil mg - is so serious a problem as to cause worry? I am not sure how serious is this is - I am not doctor.
1644856 tn?1301038801 s susceptibility for cancer, be it multiple myeloma or melanoma (skin cancer). You should be followed with serial blood tests--the dose of prograf is not that high.
686869 tn?1227199935 I agree with Mike, you seem to be on too much of anti-rejection meds. One way to know is to test prograf levels in your blood which you probably do. But you mentioned that your doctor is new, is he experienced enough? Can you get a second opinion from an reputable hepatologist? Cellcept is a strong drug and as far as I know it has more side effects than prograf. I am taking now (6 years after TP) 1.5 mg of prograf and 1 mg of rapamune per day.
Avatar m tn I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. My question is if during treatment I also took Naragenin and my prograf levels were closely watched and adjusted for the Naragenin effects, wouldn't I have a better chance of clearing the virus.
Avatar f tn I had a bad reaction from eating these foods. I had been warned about grapefruit juice, as it increases the amount of Prograf in the blood-stream. I did not know about the problems with other foods. Being a health food addict, this is what I eat. I had noticed I had not felt good for a couple of days but did not think that much about it. After about 3 days I knew something wasn't right with my body.
Avatar n tn Now the insurance company is ******* me over on the Prograf, so I soon will be free of this drug. My blood pressure has been uncontrollable, due to the Prograf. Thanks to Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Medicare Part D of Florida, my life will improve or end quickly.
Avatar m tn My current dose is Prograf 3 mg AM/ Prograf 3 mg PM and Rapamune 4 mg AM. The intent is to convert me to 100% Rapamune because of the nephro-toxicity of the Prograf and my young age and because of the anti-cancer properties of Rapamune. Data, while horribly limited, has shown Rapamune's anti-cancer properties have had success against vascular tumors such as mine so EHE, in this case chronic, is part of the cancers Rapamune affects (some cancers it has no effect).
Avatar f tn I went into rejection twice in the hospital and because of this my transplant team saw it best to put me on 5mg of prograf twice a day as well as 4 mg of rapimune, which by the way was off label and i had to sign a release form for. Just within the past 2 months they lowerd my dosage of rapimune to 2mg but kept the prograf the same. My question to you is exactly how suppressed is my immune system?
29837 tn?1414534648 05mg daily of Prograf. Has anyone who had a liver transplant gotten off the Prograf completely? Inquiring minds want to know.
1135761 tn?1260557094 No fever or nausea. Am I just complaining or should I take more seriously. I had blood drawn today. My next appointment with my transplant team is june 15.
Avatar f tn I'm geno type 3. I've heard Prograf is harder on the kidneys than sirolimus which is why they switched me from cyclosporine to sirolimus. That's probably why they haven't suggested switching me to Prograf in fact this is the first time I'm hearing about Prograf or Tacrolimus (it's other name as I found on the web). Thanks for your response and congrats on your great report since week 4 !
Avatar f tn One thing you should beware when it comes to the anti-rejection medicine (Prograf) that your husband is talking. The caution is that you have to ask his doctor frequently when the dosage can be lowered. Prograf is toxic and in the long run it can cause kidney failure. Right after my transplant, I was put on 10 mg. Prograf daily. Gradually, the doctor lowered it to 5, then 4, and so on. Last month, the doctor lowered it to 1.5 mg. daily.
Avatar n tn My history: liver transplant 1 year ago, had 2 moderate rejections and 1 mild since transplant. At present time having moderate rejection, recently had one portal stent and 8 Bilary ERCP's to remove stones and sludge and had stenting done, and at the present time there are no blockages. Was on Rapamune (5mg a day) prior to hernia surgery and then week before hernia surgery was put on Prograf (4mg a day) and taken off the Rapamune. I have been on Progaf since hernia surgery (8 weeks ago).
Avatar m tn If suppressants are at the correct trouph levels, say, Prograf and Rapamycin, what are the next steps - switch suppressants, treat?
Avatar m tn Post transplants should be aware that Sovaldi increases effects of prograf, so prograf level has to be checked and the dose may need to be adjusted. Feeling better with each day, more energy, liver enzymes normal. So there is hope for all post-transplants! Wishing SVR to all of you!
Avatar m tn t understand the relationship between treatment and Prograf dose. It sounds logical to think that the higher the Prograf dose the less likely TX will be successful and, at the extreme, I think that's probably true. But, whether 3 mg per day or 6 mg Prograf per day makes any difference is a question I cannot answer. When I treated there was a reluctance to dose the way a non-transplant patient would have been dosed and that can be and, in my case, was problematic.
