Synthroid po to iv conversion

Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid po to iv conversion

synthroid

Avatar f tn Nature-throid is now available and will be available. I need to know the conversion from Synthroid 400 mg per wk (7 days) to Nature-throid.
Avatar f tn In addition to the problem with Armour mentioned by LM, the 60 mg Armour is not enough to substitute for 137 of Synthroid. According to readily available conversion charts, 80 mg would be the right amount. Personally, I would not even consider changing back to Synthroid at this time, and risking further hypo problems during the switch. I would take the additional Armour, or better yet, make a switch to Nature-throid, which is basically the equivalent of Armour, without its recent problems.
Avatar f tn I am getting ready to convert to Armor from Synthroid. Any suggestions about easy conversion without major side effects like weight gain, hair loss, tremors, or arrythmias? Don't want to go hypo, and don't want to be hyper. I have been on Synthroid due to RAI for years and have had every bad side effect their is. The Endo's always made my dose to high and went just by the numbers. That kicked me into heart arrythmias, diah, tremors for years.
Avatar f tn 100mcg of levothyroxine is about 60mg of armour -- you need to work with a doctor to make sure the conversion works out for you and that labs are appropriate.
499534 tn?1328704178 My new doc left message that she is switching me from synthroid to armour due to conversion problem. She is going to call me tomorrow with all my results after figuring out conversion. I am on 75 mcg daily of synthroid. Anyone know what the correct conversion would be? Also, what can I expect to feel when I make the change? Any help appreciated.
Avatar n tn Due to the T3 at a higher level than the conversion of t4 into T3 from Synthroid that may be wise to start out on this level. It is a bit lower than what you are on in mcgs with Synthroid - but from what I experienced you would benefit around this amount to start. Armour increases are quite common and in proper dosing it is recommended that you increase every two weeks 1/4 grain until optimal levels are established.
Avatar f tn In other words it is believed that it takes some time for the conversion process to ramp up to full effect.
1646889 tn?1301481228 It is possible to have a conversion problem, that is my issue, so my MD just took me off of Synthroid and put me on Armour three weeks ago, There is a math formula using your levels and reference ranges to determine if you have a conversion problem. If you want to post Free T3 and Free T4 with the reference ranges, I can figure it out and let you know.
Avatar n tn I don't think cytomel should be added unless a Free T3 test shows that T3 is actually low or low normal. Free T4 Index (T7) = 2.3 (range 1.4-3.8) is about mid range - maybe your FT4 needs to come up a bit. It's possible you might have a conversion problem, but there's no way to know that without an FT3 test.....mtkst13 is right - I don't think T3 uptake is of much use anymore - some doctors insist on staying "behind the times"....
Avatar m tn I believe that the kelp will help the synthroid conversion from t4 which is all syn is ..to t3 which our bodies need. My body has a hard time converting and storing synthroid. Im willing to bet the kelp will allow my body to work better.
Avatar f tn 1 when thyroid dose at 100 mcg Synthroid-only Had to go out side of my medical system to get more thyroid] Estimated average glucose 108 (85-126) [within an hour after breakfast] Hgb 1AC 5.4 (4.6-6.0) WBC 3.0 (3.5-12.5) Red blood count 4.15 (3.60-5.70) Hgb 12.9 (11.5-15.0) Hct 39.7 (34.0-46.0) MCV 96 (80-100) RDW, RBC 12.5 (12.0-16.5) Platelets 113 (140-400) Neutraphils % automated count 54 (41-81) Lymphocytes % automated 34 (13-46) Monos 10 (4-12) Eosinophils 2 (0-4) Neutraphils 1.
Avatar f tn Especially since, along with the thyroid, other organs of the body, like the liver, are contributing to that conversion. It only becomes necessary to need both when there is a conversion problem. Through blood work a dr can configure if the conversion is taking place. If there were a problem a dr would then prescribe an adjunct T3 med like the brand Cytomel. Rachel4: I agree. The fillers in any of the synthetic meds might not be entirely vegan so it’s probably best to contact a co.
581310 tn?1253029550 m hearing that it can be off by close to 2 grains(130 mg). If switching back to Synthroid with Cytomel maybe you need LESS then what the Synthroid w/cytomel conversion chart says due to the Naturethroid being MORE then what it says???? It sounds like a balancing issue and your symptoms are sounding hyper. Contact laura1967 as she was on Armour and switched to Synthroid w/cytomel and is doing great. You probably need to back off some and convert more slowly.
Avatar f tn Synthroid, Levoxyl, and other brands of generic Levothyroxine all have comparable doses. If you switch brands from generic to Synthroid, the dose would remain the same unless your doctor changes your dosage for some reason.
Avatar f tn 1. She put me on selenium and ashwaganda to see if conversion would improve. June 2021 Bloodwork, my TSH is 4.63 Reference Range 0.27-4.20 High Free T4 is 13 Reference Range 10-20 Free T3 is 2.3 Reference Range 2.6-5.8 Low The Naturopath wants to put me on Dissicated thyroid hormone since the selenium and ashwaganda did not help. My GP says he does not think I am at that point yet.
Avatar m tn Your hypo feelings appear to be due to low- in- the range Free T3, apparently due to inadequate conversion of T4 to T3. This is apparent in the huge imbalance between FT4 and FT3 levels within their ranges. You should also test for Reverse T3, to determine if excessive conversion of T4 to Reverse T3 is occurring. Just because your Free T3 is within the range does not mean that it is okay for you. The ranges for both Free T3 and Free T4 are far too broad.
Avatar f tn I think its because the drug companys push Synthroid because it costs more, and Armour is not marketed as much. I have to pay full price for Synthroid b/c of my health care plan. I was thinking about changing to Levothyroxine (generic) but was told it is not as strong. Now I just don't know what to do. Please advise.
Avatar m tn Hi, was wondering if anyone knew the equivalance of 162 Synthoid to NP thyroid ? Synthroid or elevated T3 is causing my nervous condition. Past few day's, upon waking I'm fine, I take synthroid approx 2 hours later, the nervous condition kicks in. I've taken Synthroid for past 9 months, no problems till approx 3 weeks ago. Trying to figure out what's causing jittery conditon. My whole body constantly shaking, after a few hours calms down, I get headache, then exhausted.
