Avatar f tn Chlorella and Spirulina. Many positive claims are based on research done on individual nutrients that Spirulina contains, such as GLA, various antioxidants, etc., rather than on direct research using Spirulina. What follows is research on the health and healing effects of Spirulina. In vitro research (e.g.
Avatar f tn They called me Wednesday to say I passed!!! But my iron is really low, the doc called in an Rx for ferrous sulfate liquid 325mg twice a day...this seems extreme. Anyone else taking extra iron? I took my first dose this morning mixed with cranberry juice (on an empty stomach besides coffee) waited an hour to eat-like it says, and then when I started to eat I got SUPER nauseated. And my mouth tasted like I was chewing on a dime all day :/I'm.dreading next dose in an hour.
535822 tn?1443976780 In complement to vitamins B complex you should consider Spirulina, black Cohosh and siberian ginseng ( if you really want the best thing on the market that contains not only spirulina but many other superfoods go for Green+ powder or SuperFood RX, I do take Green+ and the results are amazing and 3 tea spoon is basically like taking 6 green salad portions. Black Cohosh will help to balance your estrogen level. Physical activity is highly recommended to balance your homones.
1140169 tn?1370185076 The single ingredient supplement found OTC is D3-cholecalciferol-and the comparable Rx supplement is D2-ergocalciferol. No matter which OTC brand you may choose, it will always be D3. This is also the compound for which our cells have a greater affinity, therefore we can take lower doses to raise our 25(OH)D levels. D3 is naturally derived from animal sources, while D2 is a synthetic analog. For a more in depth explaination, please look to sites like vitamindcouncil.org.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if most of you ladies are taking an OTC prenatal or Rx and if Rx, then why? Also are you taking a DHA supplement? I'm taking an otc prenatal at night after dinner. But I'm thinking of asking my dr for an Rx because I think it will be cheaper. I'm also taking the Enfamil DHA (got sample from dr), but I think it is messing with my stomach. Has ne one else had this problem?
2175366 tn?1337651654 Some people get good results with "superfoods" such as bee pollen, royal jelly, spirulina because they are so highly concentrated with nutrients. Adrenal aids such as eleuthero and rhodiola can be helpful as well.
223372 tn?1240920676 I have finally graduated from the OTCs that I have been taking for over 2 years to Rx. They gave me a ton of samples and said to try them all for a few weeks and let them know which I liked best. Just curious what ones all of you recommend that do not make you barf and such!! Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have a mostly healthy diet with a day or two in the month where I eat junk, like popcorn and apple pie with ice cream I recently started mixing Amazing Grass Superfoods and Wheat grass in my morning smoothies. My smoothies include a helping of berries: blue, black, and strawberries with banana and grape juice. Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days.
Avatar n tn YES!! Your TSH is way too high. I don't know what your Herbal Supplement is, but would not rely on it to be of much help. You definitely need to see your doctor. Did you have other tests done, along with TSH? If so, which ones and can you post the results, along with the lab ranges?
4626633 tn?1382597122 I found a lot of positive reviews and studies that seemed to be done by non supplement companies. In other words, the results not skewed to fit what they want. I'm confused though, as some articles say it mimics the affects of opiates in the brain, and also binds to the receptors. But so does some part of spinach. So, is this bad for recovering addicts? I ask because Kratom, also sold on Amazon, is a no no, and it binds to the receptors too. So what's the difference?
Avatar f tn does any one know what the chemical name for this is? Is there any thing I can take for this. I have a rx for amitripatylin 50mg 1 tablet at bedtime. Please any informastion that you might have I would truely appreciate it.

Avatar f tn I am being treated for Hypothyroidism and also taking Metformin. These have been Rx by my endocrynologist. She also prescribed Provera to be taken on the 15th day of the cycle, mark that date on my calendar and then continue taken Provera for 3 months starting on the same date each month (without considering what day in the cycle I am at). This will be my 3rd month on Provera and now I am supposed to start it on my 22nd day of the cycle...

Avatar f tn I am still looking for an appropriate sodium supplement, but I do take a prescription liquid Potassium supplement. I am not sure if this will be helpful to you, but I will write what is on the label. The label reads: Potassium Chloride 10% Liquid 20MEQ/15ML - Take one tablespoon by mouth daily.
Avatar f tn My cholesterol is very high (over 300). This is due to hypothyroidism and it will not come down until my thyroid levels get balanced. I am a "good eater" too. i will not take any Rx meds for this problem. I do take niacin, and try to eat right.

Avatar n tn Vitamin D deficiency seems pretty common, especially with liver disease. Mine was also low, and the doc told me to take a supplement. I take 2000mg of vitamin D3 daily (not rx), and that seems to keep me at a good level. I think that there are studies that indicate adequate levels of Vitamin D increases your odds of SVR. Good luck!
547836 tn?1302832832 What kind of supplement/ vitamin is everyone taking? Below is a list of what I was taught about some common vitamins/ minerals and there possible associations with the LIVER. Please share what you agree and disagree from my list, and list what vitamin/ mineral supplements you are taking. VITAMIN A: FAT SOLUBLE For eye health. I try to avoid fat soluble vitamins seeing that the liver is a major processor and storage for lipids.
8573748 tn?1398993081 I've been taking Rainbow Light Complete Prenatal System since a month before I got pregnant & I really love them. Have never been sick once from them. They're made from food based nutrition & superfoods so they're very gentle on the tummy. They promote healthy brain, eyes, nerves, Boone, teeth, & blood. I totally recommend checking them out online or just giving them a try. I also take Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA twice a day. For me, the two are a perfect combo.
4176707 tn?1391040283 I've been on progesterone since week 5. I take 2 200mg supplements a day. Yesterday at my doctor appointment he told me to drop to one supplement a day and when this rx runs out I'll be done. Thing is, yesterday I measured 9weeks 3 days. I thought it was typical to be on progesterone until week 12?? It's a bit scary to reduce them now. What are others' experiences with this? Does it seem too early to you, or would you just trust the doc?
Avatar m tn She knows more about medication and supplement interactions than my doc. He treats, writes the RX, she dispenses and explains it use.
