The initial complaint that I brought to my doctor was experiencing hair growth on my face, excess hair growth on my arms/legs/bikini, and hair loss on my head. I've since begun laser hair removal on my face and arms, but I am about 4 treatments in (24 wks) and am not noticing results. It is becoming more and more difficult to hold my head high- many days I don't even want to be seen in public.
Avatar f tn Some are specifically for weight loss, and others like I do, stretching and working the muscles and I think a few types in between. I don't know a whole lot about the different types - do a web search and read up on them. From what I understand it's like most other things - certain people really like one type, while certain people really like another type.
Avatar n tn Help, My Son is now 16 months and just refuses to eat most finger foods, he even is starting to not eat stage 3 which is what we give him now to get some nutrients in him. He will chew and mash it but refuses to swallow and spits it out. Most of the time as soon as he sees a fork or spoon before taking the first bite he's already throwing his arms up and screaming. This is every meal now. He appears to be hungry because he will point at it when he wants it but to no luck.
Avatar f tn I have a mostly healthy diet with a day or two in the month where I eat junk, like popcorn and apple pie with ice cream I recently started mixing Amazing Grass Superfoods and Wheat grass in my morning smoothies. My smoothies include a helping of berries: blue, black, and strawberries with banana and grape juice. Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days.

Avatar m tn A short while back--before I went vegan, and after gaining 20 lbs in 2 months, going from 226lbs to 246lbs--I considered medical weight loss. There I was told that I could, at most, expect to drop to 200. (My body fat percentage was about 26.6% then.) My goal was 180, but no matter: all I want is to be healthier. Besides, I already have this not-so-nifty skin hanging around which may need to be snipped.

Avatar m tn Be aware that eating vegetarian can cause your body to be deficient in nutrients that are found primarily in animal products, such as vitamin B12, which is found in eggs, milk, meat, etc; calcium, which is found in dairy - you need at least 3 servings calcium/day, as well as others. You should have a nutritionist help you with a diet that will insure you get the proper nutrition.

I think it's easier to lose the weight now for Jackie than if she waited to try to achieve some weight loss in later decades when the metabolism slows making the task more difficult. It's great to be a healthy weight for so many things, lowering risk factors for serious health problems!
Avatar f tn I have been trying to lose weight for over a year now, I am 45 yrs old, and I quit smoking in Oct 2008 and had foot surgrey in June 2009, between the 2 I put on 40lbs. I have joined Goodlife and go to there Step Aerobics 2-3 times a week, at 60 mins a class...I am trying to stay at 1500 cal/day and doing a pretty good job, I eat at 7am, then I have protien around 10 and 2:30, lunch at at 12 and dinner around 6/7 depending when I get home.
Avatar f tn It's normal to lose a little in the first trimester. I lost 14 lbs my first trimester. Also if you changed your diet to something more healthy you can lose weight. I just hope I don't lose anymore I'm in the second.
Avatar f tn Hi, the best way to exercise is do some aerobic training which will result in fat loss and getting the body in good shape. If you particularly want to do some exercises for your legs then cycling is the best. Also diet is an important factor to consider if you are concentrating on fat loss. That should not contain sugars, refined carbohydrates and fatty substances. I hope this helps.
