Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar f tn It seems to help most of the time. I am also on sumatriptan for migraines. This was the first time I experienced this constant pain right behind my left eye. Thought the pain was from migraines so I took sumatriptan . So migraines are a throbbing pain on one side?
Avatar f tn Knowing that it typically gets worse, I took a sumatriptan before bed. Last night, I woke up every hour desperate for relief. Ice didn't work. Changing my position didn't work. The sumatriptan didn't work (I took it again around 4am this morning, which I think it's bizarre that 4am seems to be the time I'm fed up enough to take medication).
Avatar n tn Apo-Indomethacin and Pms-Sumatriptan was prescribed to me by my doctor. I am also on progesterin to help reduce the amount of headaches, I have been using nasal sprays as well. Month six, no change. Blood tests shows no diabetes, Thyroid, liver or kidney problems. I have been sleeping about 13-14 hours a day. I have a swollen gland on the left side of the back of my neck and has been swollen for about five years, I don't know if it is related.
Avatar f tn I should also note that the very first time i started getting these facial pain attacks, my first doctor thought it was migraines and prescribed me Sumatriptan. And the sumatriptan did take the pain away. And I have learned that sumatriptan helps with cluster headaches. Is there any other trigeminal neuralgia sufferers out there, who suffer the same symptoms as I do? Help me please I am very confused about this condition!!! Sarah.
Avatar f tn I have a migraine of some degree about 28 days of the month. I get Botox injections, am on Topomax, Sumatriptan, anti nausea meds...the whole works. My life was changed in an instant. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar incident, and recovered??? None of my doctors can say if I will ever be free of these migraines...
Avatar f tn , preferably in the dark, for 15-30 min. (light variations/strobic effects are a primary migraine trigger for me). Although it is a listed side effect, sumatriptan doesn't actually make me drowsy. A police officer disturbed me for a "wellness check" (apparently someone was worried about me).
Avatar f tn I think you should talk to your doctor about hormones or food sensitivites and ask him/her about if sumatriptan is right for you. (Sometimes if I can do nothing else to get a little relief, I put a cold cloth on my forehead and lay down for a while.
1102283 tn?1257817472 But, due to cost constraints, I would suggest getting a prescription for the cheapest generic triptan which is called Sumatriptan tablets. The Sumatriptan tablets work well for many people, so if they work well for you then that would be excellent and you can just stick to them as your only prescription. Although, due to the extremely low bioavailability of Sumatriptan tablets, they do not always work well for everyone (although Sumatriptan is still the most prescribed triptan on the market).
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if it is ok to take my amitriptyline after i took my sumatriptan.? Can someone please help me? I took bith pills and i don't know if i was supposed to i can't remember what my doctor said.
Avatar n tn maybe only a few hours at the most. for the most part i take sumatriptan for the pain. i have no idea why it works but it works for me. if you've been on it than maybe it doesnt work, but if you havent been on it, ask your doc about it. hope any of this helps!
612876 tn?1355514495 I'm so glad you had success with it! I looked briefly at one of the links you provided and found the drug was sumatriptan, the same medication as imitrex. So unfortunately, it doesn't look like a solution for me. With sumatriptan pills, it could give me chest pains though I used to take it anyway. Injections (not needleless ones)-the first one seemed to work quite well and I went to a ballgame with my work afterward (back in the days I was working).
Avatar n tn - injection with sumatriptan (assuming you have not already taken the replex) - IV liquids (at least one liter i believe is the standard... but you can trust the hospital with giving you enough) - morphine. this will make you feel sick and disgusting. if they say they are giving you morphine, ask for hydromorphone... it is more expensive (if you live in america, much more expensive for you...
Avatar f tn Some people have success treating migraine with ibuprofin (such as advil). For me nothing works except sumatriptan (such as imitrex) for you need a prescription.
Avatar f tn Hi I am a 32 year old female who has been suffering with debilitating daily migraines for 13 or so years . I have tried so many preventative medications with no success. I am now taking sumatriptan injections which masks the pain and also have gone oxygen. I am still suffering daily and have had no success with any medication . I am still under a neurologist who are still not sure why I am getting these horrendous headaches , I have told them I get them when hot .
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Sumatriptan or Imigran tablets may or may not be taken with food. There are no special considerations with regards to alcohol but this may trigger or exacerbate migraine attack. 1761287 tn?1313824787 Hello...I have always suffered severe knock-you-on-your-booty migraines. There are generalized in either my temples or behind my eyes...like in my forehead. Bright lights hurt more than sound, but sound does hurt if there is too much bass. Sometimes, associated with nausea & dizziness. They are worse right before my periods. Sometimes, popsicles help. I don't know if this matters, but I have to wear earpugs to sleep & play waves really loud because of my loud neighbors.
Avatar m tn Verapamil has been shown to be effective for prophylaxis. For cluster headache completely refractory to all treatments, surgical modalities and newer interventions such as the implantation of stereotactic electrodes may be useful. Patients should be encouraged to avoid possible triggers such as smoking or alcohol consumption, especially during the cluster period. For knowing the complete treatment plan pl. 3102503 tn?1341318713 I've been experiencing a headache every day for the past 4 months. It has gradually been getting worse as the weeks go on. My doctor prescribed me medication for chronic tensions which didn't help at all. Then she sent me for an MRI without contrast that came back negative. The headaches have always been worse first thing in the morning when I wake up. I have to sometimes get out of bed the second I wake because its that bad.
556935 tn?1215720270 25 mg of Xanax. Everything we have read says that it has not been evaluated for safety and effectiveness in children and is not generally prescribed for them. What we need to know is, is it ok for her to take them? Should we take her to see another Doctor and have something else given to her or should my husband speak to her counselor about the supposed symptoms, since they aren't something that we have ever encountered when she has been with us? Please give us some advice.
