Suboxone oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone oxycodone

suboxone

Avatar n tn Suboxone definitely takes away the pain from withdrawal. When I withdraw cold turkey I feel like hell for3 or 4 days and just yucky for about a week. I don't plan to stay on the suboxone long. It is also expensive!
Avatar f tn I've been addicted to oxycodone for a few years and today started on suboxone. I took my last 15mg of oxycodone and then waited until I was in withdrawal (about 8 hrs) to take the suboxone (2mg) I felt like it helped the w/d symptoms for a while, but started feeling bad again after 3 or 4 hours so I took another 1mg sub ( half a strip). I still don't feel that great and I don't know what to do.
994981 tn?1249564028 Hi Summer, While Suboxone truly is a 'wonder-drug', there are some very important things you should consider before making the decision to go on it. When you start it, you need to be in withdrawals already - otherwise you can go into what is known as "precipitated withdrawals". I've done this once, and believe me you do not want to go through this. Your best bet is to have the Doctor guide you on when you're in withdrawals enough to start using Suboxone.
Avatar n tn Day 2 and I feel sick...If I take suboxone during my 5 day sickness then stop all pills after 5th day will I have to go through this again?
Avatar m tn The test showed positive for oxycodone. I have not taken oxycodone. Can the buprenorphine-naloxone cause a false positive for oxycodone? I have seen that is can on an urine test but what about a hair test? If so, any recommendations on how to work through it to get it cleared? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I was also put on suboxone but from oxycodone use instead, suboxone is no better or worse that oxycodone or heroin or morphine, the withdrawals are just as bad, I went 5 days without and suboxone after taking one 8mg a day and those 5 days were hell and I'm still sick, I've tried vitamins, orange juice, hot showers ,Tylenol, ibuprofien ,exercise, sleeping pills, sitting in a corner rocking back and forth, anything and everything I can think of and what others have suggested in other foru
Avatar n tn t the first person on Suboxone that has had a false positive for oxycodone! Theoretically, Suboxone should definitely not cause a positive for oxycodone on a panel test... so there is no official recognition that this is possible. Chemically, Suboxone contains two opiates that chemically differ from most of the other opiates as being semi-synthetically derived from thebaine (a minor chemical constituent of opium).
Avatar m tn m taking 3 or 4 mg of Suboxone everyday on my 14th day, can I stop the suboxone all together and will I feel okay? Is 2 weeks of low doses 2-3 times a day of subs, long enough to get rid of withdrawal? Should I continue for one more week with subs? I don't want to be dependent on subs though. I want to take ZERO pain meds.
Avatar f tn Just do your research if you are thinking about suboxone. If you hope to ever come off it, the withdrawals last much longer than oxycodone withdrawals. As far as using suboxone for pain management, there are some doctors that use it, but it is not commonly used for pain management. It needs to be taken at a much higher dose and it hasn't been used often enough or long enough to know if it's good for long-time use. There are lots of non-narcotic ways to manage your pain.
Avatar m tn I was taking oxycodone for back pain and when I was done months later I withdrawaled from it and got right on suboxone. now if I was told I would withdrawal from the oxycodone I would have never taken it in the first place but I went to suboxone and wasn't told about withdrawal from that either actually I was told that because of wening I would not go though that. But I quit subs cold turkey and my mind is not completely normal but then again how do I know what normal is.
Avatar m tn I titrated down from 6 x 8mg Suboxone and took my last single dose of 8mg yesterday how long before it is completely out of my system? does anyone know when I can start back on oxycodone?
Avatar n tn After 8 years of taking different pain medication for chronic back pain, I detoxed by myself from 160 mg of oxycodone. I had suboxone and started taking .2 mg of suboxone. After 6-1/2 months, I gradually tapered off it and since mid-January I have been off it completely. I went through all the typical withdrawals of "kicking" legs, nausea, and flu-like symptons. It has been 7 weeks and I still feel lousy.
Avatar m tn Ive tried multiple times to get off of them, and i really want to. I have a friend that gave me some suboxone to get me off of the oxycodone by doing a short detox with two 8mg strips. I cut the strips into mostly 8ths but also 2 4ths to start the first two days off. I felt fine the whole time while on suboxone (2 weeks) but a day or two after i came off of them i started feeling the oxycodone withdrawal again.
Avatar f tn t have my fix I felt like hiding and curling up in a ball crying all day. I went through hell. A friend of mine told me about suboxone, and I got my hands on some...not knowing the whole story about it. To make a long story short, I've been addicted to subutex/suboxone for 8 months (at 16 mg) now. I have a stressful job at a gourmet restaurant that requires me to be on my A game at all times, not to mention to be able to put on a happy face and be bubbly around high maintenence people.
1453060 tn?1287443316 Also for the past month that I have been clean. I have been taking suboxone. I know that like Oxys suboxone is also an opiod. Does suboxone have the same negative affects as does oxys?
Avatar n tn I have been on a high dose of oxycodone for Lupus for the past 8 months. I take up to 150 MG a day of oxycodone, I am trying to get off because I feel as if I don't need the meds anymore, I have found a different non-narcotic to help ease the pain. I am not pain free but the oxycodone is worse than the pain I am in. I can't seem to get off the oxt though, I am experiencing extremely bad withdrawals, and I can't seem to get any help from my doctors.
Avatar n tn I ended up putting myself in the hospital in June of 2012 to be medically supervised while I went through the 24 period before taking suboxone. I was only on suboxone for about 30 days before I could not tolerate the pain and so back on the merry go round. Granted I am on a way lower dosage but already doing the count the hours and ending up short every month. I am changing doctors next month not due to pain meds but many issues I do not care for as to my health.
Avatar f tn I had an ACDF in may 2012 following a car accident that occurred in March of 2012. After the surgery I felt great and went on back on suboxone with the same doctor that put me on it before the accident. Was doing great it didn't last long. Around mid Dec. 2012 my symptoms before the surgery came back worse then before. I went to my suboxone doctor and he did a cortisone shot, trigger shots, mri, and prescribe a muscle relaxer.
Avatar n tn Hey, I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy! If you can clarify whether you were given suboxone or subutex, and what the dosage was while you took it for seven days, that will help the folks here who know more about it to give you feedback (I'm sorry, I don't know enough to do so). I do know enough about oxycodone to say that if you're 14 days from last using it, it's unlikely that that is what's causing the withdrawl symptoms you describe.
Avatar m tn One more question, do you think telling my doctor that I no longer want to take oxycodone is a good idea and whether suggesting methadone/suboxone is a good/bad idea? I guess I'm afraid that if I ever NEED opioid pain medications again (aka if I contracted cancer - lets hope not), he/she would be more hesitant to provide them.
994981 tn?1249564028 well i have been taking oxycodone heavily for about 4 years.. i have 4 left and my doctor prescribed me 8mg saboxen but i really don't know where to go from here. my dr saw that i was an addict and has discharged me and gave me saboxen.. i am scared and don't know what to do from here. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have been on oxycodone 15mg. Four times a day for four years. I am in such a horrible trap. I thought by switching to Belbuca I could manage the pain with less side effects, as this is what I have been told. Any comments/insight on the differences in Belbuca and Oxycodone, I would love to hear from you.
Avatar m tn I Know we're not comparing apples to apples but can someone get close???
Avatar f tn Hi there, if possible, you can read my story on my homepage as to how I recovered from a narcotic addiction using Suboxone. I did it in a residential treatment center and they supervised the Suboxone doses which I highly recommend because if not supervised, Suboxone itself can become addicting as well and much harder to stop taking. They only gave it to me for a week by giving 1 pill for 2 days then 1/2 pill for 2 days then 1/4 pill for 2 days then they stopped.
Avatar n tn This is day three for me. I do believe suboxone has been my miracle. I went to work yesterday...I didn't even dread being there. If I wasn't on suboxone...I would still be in bed throwing up and running to the bathroom. For anyone out there who wants to get off pain killers...try suboxone. I've read a few postings on here where people were still struggling on suboxone but I really think there's something wrong with their dosage.
Avatar m tn I went to a hospital to detox and they put me on subtext after three days, I am home now and on 4mg of suboxone a day. I can't move, I have no energy and am constantly hungry. I have to get back to work and pay my bills. I feel like my brain has stopped working and I'm in a fog. I'm very weak. Please help......
Avatar n tn oxyCONTIN is a CONTINuos release form of oxycodone. The other is the same drug (oxycodone) but in an immediate release formulary.......same thing .... one is time release and one is immediate release.
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor to refer you to a pain management specialist. They can perscribe either suboxone/naloxone OR subtex. Suboxone comes in sublingual strips that don't taste as bad and dissolve instantly under your tongue. You cannot take regular opiate pain medication however while taking either because this medication is specifically designed to help people withdrawal from heroin/ and synthetic heroin aka any opioid pain meds.
