Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain bloating heartburn

stomach-pain

Avatar n tn why do i get nightsweats, headaches, stomach pain and bloating after eating anything, heartburn...
Avatar m tn This can be due to gastritis or hyperacidity or heartburn. Pepto-Bismol is an over-the-counter drug used for treatment of nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhoea, and other temporary discomforts of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Ginger ale is often used as a home remedy to alleviate indigestion or motion sickness. Hence you can take them and once you feel slightly better you can get antacids and anti-emetics form the pharmacy. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Check out Gastritis and see if it matches your symptoms. This can be caused by reflux, but I'd expect you to have heartburn almost all the time.
Avatar f tn For the past month ive had stomach bloating mostly after eating. However it doesnt make me feel full, it just feel like my stomach is stretched. Occasionally i feel ever so slightly nauseous but this passes quickly if i eat. Also on days that i havnt felt bloated my stomach has felt tense and im unable to relax it like im holding it in but I litterally arent!! I eat a balanced diet, i dont smoke but i do like a drink. It doesnt seem to be affected by what i eat or dont eat.
Avatar n tn Is it upper abd. bloating with burping (heartburn, early satiety, nausea?)...or lower abd. bloating with flatulence?
938718 tn?1323783514 Anyone else with wicked bloating & indigestion in their stomach? I'm not sure if it's bread/wheat gluten that's doing it, but oh my gosh it's painful. It was gone for a week or two, but now it's back with a vengeance. I'm 13 weeks 4 days.
Avatar f tn I also have the same stomach bloating symptoms which makes me look pregnant too. If you take a look at my pictures I have linked to my profile you can see the dramatic difference between the way my stomach looks before and after. After dealing with this for over 3 and a half years no medications have ever even came close to helping with the stomach bloating. I've also felt the discomfort on my rib cage when my stomach gets bloated. It's just too much pressure on it.
Avatar n tn Bloating is usually caused when food lingers in your stomach undigested for too long. Given the pain, the bloating, and the likely possibility of heartburn, I'd be wondering about a few things: H. Pylori infection, gastroparesis, gastritis (which could be caused by both H. Pylori and gastroparesis). Go back to your doctor and inquire about having a gastric emptying exam, an H. Pylori breath test, and/or and EGD. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Sometimes it is mildly annoying, other times it feels like a knife has been plunged in the middle of my stomach and twisted. This pain is not in my esophagus and I do not have heartburn. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn ) I was diagnosed with something called gastroparesis. Luckily, mine seems to be a fairly mild case. The symptoms include bloating, heartburn, and stomach twitching. It's most common among diabetics, but it historically also affects some women after pregnancy. (I'm neither. My case is idiopathic with a suspected viral cause. One of the few upsides includes my ability to tell pregnant women, "I know how you feel" and to a very minor extent be serious.
Avatar f tn It started with really painful heartburn mainly as night, I would wake up in the middle of the night with chest pain from the heartburn then end up suffering a panic attack as I thought something was seriously wrong. I went to my gp who suggested my heartburn can be made worse by stress and that stress can make heartburn worse.
Avatar n tn I am now 63 years old and since April, off and on, I have had pain, feels like back labor. About three weeks ago, my stomach started getting bigger and bigger. I was big on the left side where the pain was, and now it is big on both sides. Looks like im five months pregnant.?? It feels like something in there is moving or something?? Sounds weird I know, but I was wondering if you had suggestions on what it might be?
Avatar n tn Hi I have pain behind my breastbone and slightly to the left side under my ribs, with excess gas and bloating to my stomach. I have also have heartburn occasionally. This has got progressively worse in the past year since having an endoscopy which found nothing untoward other than inflammation due to excess stomach acid.
Avatar n tn I feel bloating sometimes, and sometimes not, yesterday the pain was gone completely and everything appeared to be normal. Today i started having heavy breathing problems again and a heavy heartburn sensation in the middle of the sternum, as of right now it is only a heavy burning sensation in the middle of the sternum.
Avatar f tn The pain is usually behind her navel sometimes radiating to the sides. Occasionally accompanied by nausea. No heartburn, but she does get some relief when she burps. Nexium has been prescribed off and on for her, but sometimes seems to cause nausea. Bowel movements are normal, no diarrhea, constipation, or bloating. Any thoughts? Would a food allergy test be of any value?
Avatar f tn I did an abdominal ultrasound - nothing out of the ordinary. After 10 days of stomach pain/gas/bloating/burping despite a GERD-compliant diet, my GP prescribed PPIs (once daily) and enzymes. After a day or two of taking the PPI, after doing some Yoga poses for indigestion (that turned out to cause heartburn), my heartburns started. Initially milder (pain level 3/10). I also took antacids which helped.

Avatar m tn Hi. I'm hoping someone could help me out! Just last night I think I experienced Heartburn for the first time and it was while I was eating. It seemed to last for about two hours. I looked on the web because I was freaking out because I had this sharp pain in my chest. So, I tried drinking a cup of milk, which didn't seem to help. Eventually it went away. I seemed to feel fine for the most of the day but I've felt like my stomach was bloated.
Avatar n tn m ready to burst, severe bloated feeling, and a sort of expanding pressure pain as if there was a balloon in my stomach being over filled. If I had to explain the size of the pain, it feels as if there is a large grapefruit sized area where the pain is concentrated on. During this 3 week period, the pain is for the most part constant (the extreme bloated feeling, expaning pressure).
Avatar m tn I sometimes feel pressure in my chest, I get palpitations, my stomach feels bloated and weird if I press, and sometimes I feel dizzy and I feel better after I go poop. I also have to go poop like 4 times a day.
Avatar f tn Since August of 2010 I've had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
Avatar f tn headaches and back pain! Just wondering what is safe to take? I know you cant take advil but what about tylnol? Whats the difference? And what about gravol? im a first time curious mommy and want to know whats best. I have no taken anything just to be safe!
Avatar f tn Have you tried an antacid or something like Pepto-Bismol or Zantac - which I think reduces the amount of acid secreted by the stomach in order to reduce ulcer and heartburn pain or to assist in healing of ulcers - I'm pretty sure it is used to treat stomach and duodenal (intestinal) ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). That might point you in the right direction. Sounds like you should still see your GP though.
Avatar n tn It ranges from just being uncomfortable to being out right painful, not to mention embarassing. Sometimes just drinking water will hurt my stomach and the bloating gets worse. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I am just out of ideas.
Avatar n tn Any diarrhea, constipation, changed stool color, heartburn, burping?
