520369 tn?1212971265 To help eat less food pre meal, eat about 7-10 almonds (good fat), 20 minutes before lunch and dinner so you will feel full faster and not eat as much food. Do not be discouraged, weight loss can be a slow process but the slower you loss, the higher chance it will stay off. Think of this new way of eating as your new healthy lifestyle and not as a diet.
Avatar f tn Protein is an essential part of your diet and if you are skipping meat then you should try something like tofu or similar non vegetarian protein food to aid in your weight loss. Not only protein can curb your hunger but also can help you build muscles ( if you are working out) to burn more calories.
Avatar f tn I'm aware that exercise is necessary to lose weight and look strong and taut; it's kkheartsup that we have to convince.. lol I, personally, do not use any type of soy products because I have a thyroid condition and soy is not recommended in those with thyroid issues.
1268448 tn?1270365516 I've been training for years and my weight has been up and down. I am very uneasy about food and how i eat even though i only eat about 1200-1400 calories a day. I have a block against carbs and i reduce them where I can, I know this is a problem. I'm 5 ft 9 about 67 kgs 21yr old female, i train 5 days a week and i am a uni student and work part time as a receptionist. I train 2 weight days, 2 -4 HIIT/crossfit days. My heart rate is about 45-55 and bp is 100/70.
6231275 tn?1379901818 I in no way would recommend anything like soy products for various reasons. Some examples of veggie protein are beans(13.4g), seitan(21g), or you could buy a veggie supplement/protein drink. So pretty much go towards more plant based for the first phase. Once you've lost at least 50% or most of the weight you needed to loose you can add in that *little* vegetarian cheat now and then. 1-2 times a week or so.
Avatar f tn I started medifast and have lost 3 pounds (before NOTHING worked) but I am noticing the first ingredient in nearly every food is soy protein. I only want to lose 10-12 pounds so I would only be doing this for 3-4 weeks, but should I be concerned about the soy protein?
Avatar f tn For example, park your car in the back of the parking lot and walk to the store. That will give you additional walking. Do not be discouraged, weight loss can be a slow process but the slower you loss, the higher chance it will stay off. Think of this new way of eating as your new healthy lifestyle and not as a diet. Hope this helps you.
Avatar f tn That is a great goal for weight loss. The slower you lose the weight, the better chance you will be able to maintain your weight loss. Eating 5-6 small meals a day is a good way to eat and it improves digestion. Recommend you eat something at the beginning of the day, even if it is a yogurt smoothie. If your smoothies have a full fruit serving, then it does count as 1 fruit and the same with V8. Suggest eating salads/vegetables instead of drinking V8 due to the increase value of fiber.
Avatar m tn I have started training for gaining muscles, but i am not sure if i should be using whey protein as i heard that if i stop working out later at some point in time, I will start putting on weight!!! Is this a side effect of taking whey protein and discontinuing its use??? Moreover, does intake of whey protein interfere with the blood tests done to check the thyroid profile? answers to these questions will be a great favor and highly appreciated.
326352 tn?1310994295 If you replace two meals a day with the shakes and eat one colorful meal, with protein snacks in between, you will lose weight and keep it off. Once your weight is down to your goal weight, you can eat 2 meals a day and replace one with a shake, keeping the protein snacks in between. Some people have been practicing this healthy routine and kept their weight within acceptable range for 28 years.
Avatar m tn Suggest drinking either nutrient dense drinks (in addition to eating your meals) such as ensure or make your own milkshakes - soy yogurt, soy milk, and frozen fruit blended together; or milk, ice cream, and frozen fruit blended together for extra calories, protein and nutrients to help increase your weight. Thank you for your question.
Avatar m tn What you need to do is research the forms of protein. Some soy protein is quite bad for people, some is quite good. Depends on the form. Same with whey. For building muscle, some prefer egg protein, but most seem to like the whey. Organic is great, but when you're isolating something down to the protein, it's more important it be done correctly. An organic product that uses the wrong kind of method of isolating the protein isn't going to be very helpful.
Avatar f tn Milkshakes (milk, fresh fruit, and ice cream) are also good for extra protein too. You did not state her height and weight so I am not able to determine if the weight and height is normal for her age and how much protein she needs daily. If you would state her weight and height, then I can do that for you. Thank you.

Whey they say not to have, but especially not SOY. There are shakes out there, and some flavors you can add, that are for this particular issue. Some people at the vitamin shop or health store will know. ask for no soy no whey.

Avatar f tn I always tell my husband and my kids I want to eat healthy to feel healthy not for weight loss, but weight loss is the added bonus.
Avatar f tn It was from soy. In 1998 I decided to start eating soy as a replacement for protein. While my diet had very little protein as I was a vegetarian, I could now finally have the protein I always craved and I found it in soy frozen food products. I also developed a love for coffee to keep me going with all the issues I was going through at that time. So here I had my soy food to finally eat and coffee with cream and sugar to keep me feeling good.
