protein

Avatar f tn My morning blood sugar fasting when I was first diagnosed at hardly ever below 135 in the morning. Even the first 3 months with a high protein low carb diet my sugar was staying about 125 in the morning. Now it is between 105 and 119 every morning but I have to hardly eat to maintain this blood sugar fasting. I am not on any medications at this time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep my weight from going down any further without my blood sugars going up? My last A1C was 6.
Avatar m tn Dukan diet check that it worked for me :)
637356 tn?1301924822 I have gone through a divorce, almost lost my house, lost some of my furniture, lost my truck, and the one I was driving broke down. I have gone through a lot in 2010 but I figured it is 2011 a new year and a new start!! I got a new job, saved my house, and I am slowly rebuilding everything I lost!! Anyway, through all the stress I gained weight and didnt' care...I had given up on everything. My mom joined this program called Slim 4 Life and I started watching her.
Avatar n tn This is driving me crazy!! So I walk, am drinking weight loss smoothies and drinking some detox tea blends to jump start an exercise program when the doctor gives me the go-ahead.
Avatar f tn If all these causes are ruled out then you can start a diet and exercise program to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you must do it the scientific way for long term benefits, healthy glow, and a good physique and body. People who are successful in losing weight and maintaining it are the ones who make lifestyle changes which are acceptable to them, their palate and their working style.

Avatar f tn Also keep a track of calorie intake and your work out. 0.5-2 pounds a week is decent weight loss. The weight loss may be slow initially due to the muscles building and would gradually gain pace. With gradual consistent efforts, you should be able to lose weight as desired in a healthy way. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Kind of like walk for 30 seconds, jog for 30 seconds, run for 30 seconds, then slow back to a walk and start the process over. Try to increase the walk, jog, run times until you can do a couple minutes, but even then keep varying the length of time for each. Same goes for calories - vary it by 100-200/day just so your body doesn't get used to the same amount.
Avatar f tn Be sure you start taking a prebiotic supplement every day. Take it 30 minutes before a meal for best results. I know your body craves sugar, but it is making you sick and tired. If you do stop sugar cold turkey, there will be a week of extreme exhaustion as the yeast in your body dies off. Then you will start recovering. What your body needs (but isn't telling you) is that you need lean meat the size of a deck of cards once a day and lots and lots of vegetables.
Avatar n tn You must need to follow a regular healthy diet and must need to exercise regularly.

Avatar m tn I suggest you to eat frequent small meals and eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake .Get a diet chart made from a nutritionist. A calculative and disciplined approach will be helpful. Hope this helps. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn I am over weight and am looking for help. I try to eat healthy but sometimes I can't seem to eat the right foods. I am taking Zantrex 3 and work out 3 times a week by playing tennis or doing yoga on the wii. I need something to help jump start this weight loss. I haven't really lost any weight in 2 weeks maybe 3 or 4 lbs. I have dropped my calorie intake to about 1800.
Avatar n tn I have just read a book on fasting and using a ketogenic diet for weight loss and diabetes reversal. I am trying it now and am finding it very easy to implement. There are various fasts you can do. I am sure you can find one or two ways to work for you. You should get this book! I have tried all of the diets in my 63 yrs of life and none have given lasting results. I feel like this way is going to be much easier to do than those I have tried in the past.
Avatar m tn protein, which can cause one to gain weight, not lose it. My doctor put me on a high protein diet and by the time I realized high protein wasn't for me, I'd gained an additional 15 lbs when I was already overweight from hypothyroidism... while I lost 23 lbs, when I went off the high protein diet, I'm still struggling to lose the remainder of my hypo weight. Everything must done in moderation.
Business woman1 If all these causes are ruled out then you can start a diet and exercise program to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you must do it the scientific way for long term benefits, healthy glow, and a good physique and body. It's best to join a nutrition expert and a physical trainer and follow their advice. Incorporating yoga into this regimen takes stress out of this exercise to lose weight.
Avatar f tn As you exercise you are building lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so a scale will reflect no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. When you skip meals the body will go into ‘starvation mode’ to protect itself.
Avatar f tn Yes. Exercise doesn't generally help people lose weight unless you start running - but exercise DOES help you stay motivated to stick with your diet and turn down the donuts, etc. Any diet will work if you can stick with it. Many people find that a low-carb diet helps to reduce hunger (Atkins Diet). The "South Beach Diet" is a little more flexible but also seems to be very effective.
Avatar f tn You could try going on a juicing diet. Where you drink water and use a juicer to juice fruits and vegetables. Its obviously very healthy for you and would help you lose weight. My mother went on a fast ats lost a decent amount of weight she only drank water and used little cubes of beef and chicken stock for flavor. I believe if you keep your belly full with water you won't be hungry. Good luck dearest!

Avatar f tn I need to lose 80 lbs. and have osteoarthritis. I've been on a low carb diet twice and both times the arthritis has flared and become quite painful. I think it's an excess of protein. How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!
Avatar m tn Fruit sugar is bad for some people on a weight loss. Stay away from bananas! Increase veggies, steam them, cook them, stir fry with a spoon of olive, canola or coconut oil. Fats are important, as long as they are the right kind. Eat a handful of nuts a day. No peanuts, but pecan, brasil, almonds, walnuts. Very healthy fats, and rich in protein and fibre, they will keep you satiated. Eat lots of low fat meat and dairy. You need the protein.
Avatar f tn For your weight, 1000 calories/day isn't enough and you probably aren't eating enough proteins and fiber to keep you satisfied, which leads to binging. Make sure you eat protein with every meal/snack, because protein keeps you fuller longer and it also helps build muscle. Fiber, as in veggies, also helps keep you fuller, but you need the protein with it..
