I am having the exact same problem. Like you, I was constantly wet with a healthy sexual appetite. Accutane has changed this drastically. I have very low sexual desire and absolutely no natural lubrication even with stimulation. Have you had any resolution? I've been off of accutane (sotret) for 2 months and only took a very low dose before stopping treatment after about a month due to joint pain.
it appears 10 to 12 times a day and stays for more than a hour. i am taking sotret tablets for my acne(pimples) treatment, can it be due to this medicine? i mean that my body temperature changes, sometimes it shows 96 and after 2 hours it shows 97.5. it happens more when i sleep and less when i go outside home. this all are my symptoms. what could it be? i want to ask the following questions?
You may be prescribed another course of Accutane, or a different oral or topical treatment, sooner than a year after Accutane failure/relapse. You must wait at least 8 weeks between courses of Accutane.
Accutane results in failure or relapse when:
i)The patient has not taken Accutane at a high enough dose, or not taken it for long enough. The recommended dose is 0.5 to 1mg X kg patients bodyweight per day for 16 to 24 weeks.
I had to stop taking accutane halfway through my treatment. I was 10 weeks into the course. I had to stop for 5 weeks due to elevated enzymes. It is now safe to resume treatment.
Does the break in treatment mean that I will have to restart the whole course? My derm says that I should be able to resume the course at the 10-week mark. I am worried that the accutane will not be effective due to the 5 week break in the middle of the treatment.

I went and had a waxing done, not knowing that this was not suppost to be done while on Accutane ( I have been on treatment now for 2 mo) and now my upper lip is red swollen and very tender and burns. Please help. I have tried everything. I have been using Bacitracian and now Sivadine and nothing seems to work. Everything makes it hurt and it hurts just to talk or eat. I tried aloe but that burned even worse.
17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. My 15-year old son is in his 4th month of Accutane. He just completed his 3rd day of football practice and is experiencing severe pain in his hips. He insists that the pain is not muscular. (He is an avid cyclist and has ridden over 100 miles on his bicycle and competed in Olympic distance triathlons, so he understands muscular-related pain.) So, what could be causing the hip pain and/or do you think that there is a high probability that it is related to the Accutane? Thanks.

It is true that you have to avoid the sun as far as possible when you are on accutane. For the melasma, treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. But get it done after the course of Accutane. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist.
Anyway, I was just curious if blue light or red light treatment would help, and can I use the light treatment while on Accutane? If not, what else could I do to reduce the appearance of the red marks? The acne is on my chest and is very hard to look at. I live in Florida and it is very hot and I cannot take off my shirt with this look. It seems to not be fading at all. Thanks for your help.
This means i did not complete the 6 month treatment. Right now i have been off accutane for 2 months and a half.Right now i have occasional pimples but nothing great like before. My face is getting back to its normal greasy self.I have many embarrassing scars on my face, My question is, is it okay to have laser treatment on my face or microdembrasion or do i suffer the possiblilty of having my acne scars worse than they are now?
I am a 6'1 85 kg male who has been on accutane for 120 days (4 months). I started on 20 mg a day month 1, 40 mg month 2, and 60 mg months 3 and 4. 3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.
Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
About 25% of patients may relapse after one treatment. In those cases, a second treatment for another 4-6 months may be indicated to obtain desired results.

ve been looking for articles regarding the use of accutane in patients with keloid/hypertrophic scarring, but all I can seem to find are horror stories of people taking accutane and going and having laser treatment/dermabrasion resulting in keloid formation. my son began taking generic accutane at age 15yrs, 9mos. within weeks of beginning treatment, his hair, which is naturally thick and only slightly wavy, turned *severely* curly - you'd swear he got a perm.
i've read accounts of others online who say that their hair turned *slightly* curly after starting accutane, but to go from almost straight to *ringlets* do to it??
or could it be a coincidence - maybe his hair was in the process of turning curly due to adolescence?
Recently I went to a new dermatologist who diagnosed me with Acne Inversa, however, he stated it was curable and prescribed me Accutane. Upon further reading about Acne Inversa, I found out that not only was Acne Inversa incurable, but also very difficult to treat. ve just been recently prescribed by my dermatologist Isotretinoin (accutane) and am on my 4th day of treatment. After doing extensive research on how accutane affects growth, it really concerns me as I'm currently only 16 years and 8 months old and hence am still in the growing stage of my life. My dermatologist however has prescribed me a very low dosage of 10mg per day for 7 consecutive days, after which would be switching onto a 30mg PER WEEK dose.
What you are having are side effects of the drug Accutane and when you are taking Accutane, you should avoid going out in the sun.

Avoid cosmetic procedures such as laser treatment whilst on Accutane and for 6 months afterwards due to the increased risk of scarring.
Use bland cleansing and moisturising treatments, I recommend Eucerin, Lutsine and La Roche-Posay products. For dry lips use Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream or Vaseline.
Your eyes may become dry and you may have to wear glasses instead of contact lenses.

Usually it is recommended not to have any cosmetic surgery like dermabrasion, laser treatment or plastic surgery while on accutane. Regarding the surgery for fibroadenoma, I would suggest you to discuss it with your daughter’s surgeon. Accutane may increase the chances of post surgery keloid formation and so I would suggest you to discuss this point with your daughter’s surgeon.

By all means discuss this with your dermatologist and share your frustration. There are other options besides Accutane. If you do take Accutane, you will need regular blood tests to check your liver and your cholesterol and triglycerides. You will also need to register with the Federal iPledge program, or else no pharmacy can dispense the medication.
When Accutane is given for the kind of acne you say you have, it may clear things up, only to have the acne return several months later.
My 16 1/2 year old son has been on Accutane (60mg per day) for 2 months. His blood tests show liver function is great and triglycerides have stayed low. I am worried, however, about his complaints with joint pain. He recently had x rays and an MRI done on his right knee (which was an issue b4 the accutane) and then got relief for that knee when it was drained of excess fluid. He complains that he feels like an old man, something is always hurting.
